Chop was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender. And we put this level of care into each of our hand-crafted drinks, and from-scratch dishes, including plant-based and seafood options, with something for everyone to enjoy. We were so very impressed by the customer service and attention to details. My husband and I were celebrating our 32 wedding anniversary and came to Halifax to see Mamma Mia at the Neptune Theatre. Unfortunately the show was canceled but we decided to make the best of it. Mike came out to personally wish us Happy Anniversary and brought two glasses of wine. Jonah, our server, was super friendly, efficient and took very good care of us. When we left, we even received a card the staff had signed. Thank you for making our day!

This is my favourite place to dine so for most big celebrations, Chop is the choice. We attended for the birthday of one of my dearest friends. Usually they do something to mark the occasion but didn’t this time- in spite of that, it was fabulous service, incredible food and a warm welcome as always. We will always return!

Food was above average at best, but service was terrible. We ordered from another server right away who said our server would be right with us. Did not see them until food showed up 50 minutes later. Then when we ordered more drinks they forgot to bring them. Don’t waste your time and money.

The meal was terrible. We went over a year ago and it was delicious. We invited friend with us and neither one got the steak they ordered and my lobster was over cooked.

The main dishes were very good and the dessert was very nice. The service was exceptional. It was quite a boisterous crowd, so I'm glad we asked to be seated in a private area away from the crowd.

We had an anniversary supper. Our waitress was awesome from start to finish. She nailed everything never rushed us from one course to next time pretty good. Food was really good. My wife had sirloin and shrimp cooked perfect. I had the one in short rib which I used my fork it was that tender. Had a great evening! Thanks to our waitress!!
