Chop was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender. And we put this level of care into each of our hand-crafted drinks, and from-scratch dishes, including plant-based and seafood options, with something for everyone to enjoy. All of this quality comes with friendly hospitality in warm and energetic rooms. Open for breakfast, happy hour, dinner and late-night!

    An experience so good I had to go back the day after I first dined at this restaurant. Incredible food, incredible people, incredible service. Just sublime. Cannot go wrong with Chop if you are in Halifax and want a top tier food experience.

    It's a lovely restaurant. Great service as always. Had glass of red wine, husband had a beer, ordered the bread with brown butter (so good). I had the 11 oz striploin with beet and goat cheese side salad, husband had the 13 oz rib eye fries and both steaks cooked to perfection.,we love medium rare more to the rare and they were perfect. Love this restaurant. Been a number of times and will continue. We eat at many fine dining restaurants and chops is on the top of our best list.

    Fantastic dining experience. Michael is an amazing host, and his team definitely knows hospitality. Our server Sheryl was there whenever we needed her, her recommendations were fantastic. Prices are outrageously good! I do not remember when was the last time I had this good a meal without feeling bad afterwards.

    The quality of the meal was better than expected for this type of restaurant, certainly as good or better than many higher priced steakhouses. The noise level in the main dining area was low enough that we could carry on a conversation without struggling to hear each other ... a nice change from many establishments. The service was attentive and prompt. We will be back!
