Great food, delicious cocktails, cute ambiance and great service! One of my fav neighborhood rests!
Delicious food. Attentive wait staff. Overall atmosphere, casual
a tiny bit loud... bustling.
OMG we ate so much and could not stop. Lamb dumplings, salt and pepper shrimp, St. Louis Ribs, pork belly with chestnuts, drunken noodles with shrimp, orange beef and eggplant. And that’s for two people and a doggie bag. What can I say? This is one of NYC’s Biden gems. Near the high line so it’s a good place to go for after a walk.
Absolutely delicious food. Lovely service. Cozy atmosphere.
No frills but excellent quality pan asian fare. Cucumber salad was very good as was Drunken Noodle with Tofu. Serving sizes are correct. Won't knock your socks off, but very solid food, good service. Nice place.
Amazing food and drinks. Spicy margs were incredible, lamb dumplings, drunken noodles, pork buns, and terrific service all amazing.
Pan-Asian with strong leaning to Thai. Everything well done and just on the mildly spicy side. Lots of nice specials including pea tendrils. Service was great. One of our party who is a notoriously small eater did not finish her dinner and the waitress inquired if there was something wrong. Nice touch.
All the appetizers are great. I love their Spicy Drunken Noodles. Some of their cocktails are really good too.
I have yet to be disappointed. The food is as always consistently good!!! And so is the service.
Great food and drink
We had friends in from out of town and made the reservation through Open Table, but when we got to the restaurant, it was closed! We were humiliated and very stressed having to find another restaurant with availability while we were freezing and running around town. I don't know whose fault this is--the restaurant or Open Table--but needless to say a restaurant should NOT be accepting and confirming reservations when they are closed for business. Shameful. [Note: I'm required to give a rating in order to post this review, but I obviously cannot speak to any of the categories above.]
I made a reservation on open table and when I got to the resturant it was CLOSED
Very disappointing that I went far out of my way to get there. How could this happen ? Is this the fault of open table or the resturant .
And the sad part is that I was being taken there for my birthday .
What a find! The food was really wonderful and delicious! My husband both cook and it is rare that we really love a restaurant, as did our friends. The four of us shared everything. We highly recommend Chop Shop. We especially liked the low noise level.
The food is excellent, especially if you like spicy Asian fusion. The only reason I didn't give it the top rating overall is because we were placed in the back of the restaurant on an enclosed porch with some heat lamps. Since it was in the upper 20's outside, the room was rather cold. I wore my scarf all evening, though did not need my coat (I also had a sweater on). But we all really liked the food. Try the lamb dumplings, the drunken noodles, the spare ribs, etc. Also, there is only one bathroom for the whole restaurant, so there will probably be a small line for the bathroom. But the food is quite good, so I highly recommend it.
Cold in the “heated “ patio
Chop Shop has a great atmosphere, food and cocktails, and super friendly personnel. This is a neighborhood gem and I wish there were more restaurants like it that could have great energy paired with excellent food and drinks.
Love Chop Shop
I wanted to like this place more and i think they tried to provide positive service, meet our needs and accommodate our situation with our friend running late. However there were a few mishaps. On the night we went it was raining and when we were seated in the back the ceiling leaked onto one person in our party and the room was freezing. Towards the end of the meal my friend found a hair in her food, but they did compensate us with two free desserts.
Great food in an intimate setting. The pork dumplings and sweet & spicy orange beef were some of the best I’ve ever had.
Food and service were both good; the experience was colored by a loud table nearby. We don’t live in or near the city and will try another place next time. Still, it was a good overall experience.
Great food in a very casual setting. Good service is really quick and service was excellent
The food was delicious and the drinks were fun! I would visit again and recommend to others. The prices were fair for the food and location.
This pan-Asian restaurant has excellent, original offerings. Portions tend to be small, so best to order multiple dishes.
What a great find. A block from apartment, fabulous noodles and inexpensive. Great ambience. Love this place
One of the best Thai food in town
Wonderful fresh ingredients. Elegant fare, and friendly staff.
We 6 got a bunch of different plates. All delicious. The only "complaint" was from one of us who would have preferred not to share a main course. Too bad! We all enjoyed immensely.
Thought all the food was delicious! Definitely would recommend it and I would go back for sure!
Awesome food, great service, prices arn’t bad for the amount and delicious taste of food. Definitely going back.
We've eaten at this restaurant multiple times and it's still excellent!!! Consistently good! The service is fantastic. We highly recommend this restaurant.
We went on a Saturday night. Had reservation and went right in. The service was very good, even though the quarters are a bit cramped. Food was VERY good!
A very good value in Chelsea. The food is delicious and the decor is fun.
Common Asian fusion
Chop Shop is a fun, casual spot for pan Asian food. And, best of all their prices won’t break the bank. Went with 3 friends (one of them a mother of a friend, ie an older person) we all loved the food. It did get a little noisy by the time we left.
Loved this place! We ordered a ton of plates and shared everything. Nothing disappointed. The cucumber salad and various curries were among my favorites.
Good dining always. For some reason my reservation was not eligible for Open Table points. Not sure why....
Love this place! Good on every level. Has become a regular me and my friends
Overall the experience didn’t live up to buzz / expectation.
Food: Pork Belly too small portion relative to size of bun. Too bready.
Crab Fried Rice. Meh. Not much crab or crab flavor.
Noodles. Good size portion but virtually no flavor / seasoning. Shrimp was good, though.
Sweet & Spicy Orange Beef was mediocre. Beef wasn’t tender (couldn’t cut w side of fork) and for all the sauce - again not a ton of flavor.
Space was hot.
Service was good.
The food was outstanding. It was recommended I eat the spicy Thai sea bass and I’m so glad I ordered it! Would highly recommend!
