had a group of 13 and they did not disappoint anyone- were seated quickly, drinks came out fast and had some interesting house special cocktails. I ordered for the table, made it easier and everyone got what they wanted and more as it is family style- I told everyone about the best beef and broccoli they will ever have and - they all agreed- all the food was very good- and service was very fast in getting dishes out - it is not a tourist place, more of a word of mouth - local , great Chinese food- one of our favorites when visiting the art galleries.
Excellent food 😊
We dined here with 6 people, all experienced foodies and found this place to be amazing. Familiar dishes like green eggplant curry tasted new and fresh, outstanding fried bass was light and flavorful, everything was great. Wonderful service and fantastic cocktails, a mix of Thai, Szechuan, and other Chinese cuisines. Have the coconut crepe caramel for dessert!
Food was excellent, especially the pork belly buns.
Love Chop Shop! Cute place with delicious drinks and food! Great for sharing plates.
Good meal, excellent quick service but they did not rush us at all. Good value, would def return.
Very nice staff and delicious food. Didn’t feel rushed out like many other places.
Excellent. Lamb dumpling appetizer is fantastic. Excellent service. Go here for a great meal!
Fantastic Dinner. Exactly what we were looking for on our trip to NYC.
Chop Shop was Awesome as usual
All the staff is wonderful and the food is fantastic!
Also great Cocktails and especially love the Chop Shop Margarita
We have never left there disappointed !
The food was amazing! Our group enjoyed this restaurant very much!
Everything in their menu is just spectacularly good!
Chop Shop does an excellent job merging traditional Asian dishes with unexpected ingredients to create mouth-watering meals in reasonable portions, while not pushing the envelope on price.
Dedicated to what they do best, their menu is brief and maximizes quality on all the dishes it offers. I highly recommend their salmon fried rice and spicy drunken noodle.
The atmosphere is cozy with a narrow layout akin to a back alley, and in the rear there is a small, enclosed garden that makes for very pleasant outdoor seating away from the street. With that "coziness" comes limited space, however, so be sure to get a reservation if you plan to go during peak hours. Luckily, they're on OpenTable.
Service is prompt, capable and friendly, if not on the quiet side. The minimalistic decor seems to match the taciturn staff, but in my opinion this is a positive trait. Chop Shop isn't loud or boisterous; it's just as a great spot for a delicious meal. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking tasty Asian in Chelsea.
Great food! Had the salmon fried rice and it was delicious!
Bartender makes the best drinks! And staff makes dining a pleasure!
Small menu selection. Not enough seafood options. Portions are on the small side. Noodles were salty. The atmosphere was clean, casual and cozy. The service was ok, but we felt a bit rushed to pay our bill, even though the restaurant was almost empty with only 2 other tables occupied.
Chop Shop is one of my favorites on 10th Avenue for its consistently good food and quick service.
Loved the Asian inspired dishes & cocktails. Food was good value & the service was interactive & amusing.
Very consistent, always excellent! Drunken Noodles, dumplings, chicken and fish dishes are noteworthy.
Food was fresh, flavors were tasty, portions were generous for the price & neighborhood. My only complaint was the ambiance was a bit stark or really just lacking.
Walk in and welcome home! This looks to be an owner-operated establishment with amazing food and service. The food was delivered swiftly and in abundance. The flavors tempted the palate in many directions - even for the two teens in the group who devoured the pork buns. We would definitely dine again!!
Think we'll be going back to try the curries we didn't get and was pleasantly tortured by the amazing smell!
Delicious food. On the spot. Attentive service. Location was quiet today, but very enjoyable! Will be back!
I loved finding Chop Shop. It was local, friendly and the food was amazing. Service was so knowledgeable. I'll be returning for sure!
Great food and outdoor garden was so pleasant. Extremely attentive service too....
Nice environment. Food was a bit oily and flavorless.
Great flavors!! Really tasty shrimp - wish the portions were just a tiny bit bigger!
the pork buns are wonderful, along with the specials!
Tried this place because it is one of the rare listings on OpenTable that is recommended by 100% of the reviewers. Glad we did because it is a great neighborhood go-to for Chinese/pan-Asian comfort food (if you call braised pork belly buns and spicy drunken noodles as part of your everyday diet) and a laid-back neighborhood-y vibe. Go to the backyard open air area for a more relaxed and quiet table.
The food was good but not particularly exciting. Good service, ok ambiance.
One of my NYC faves. Consistently good food.
My only criticism is that it was very warm where we dined.
Great place, chill environment, authentic Chinese
Please see previous reviews, excellent you'll love it
This is one of the best restaurants in Chelsea. An absolute can't miss!
Tasty pan asian food. Dishes don't feel either forced or generic. Great for a change of pace from more standard Chinese fare. Casual vibe that feels contemporary. Convivial sound all around but not so loud so that you can't hear yourself or have a conversation. Will happily go back again.
a favorite, neighborhood staple. consistently good food and service - we can not visit without getting the salt and pepper shrimp or the curry eggplant (sometimes with shrimp).
Great neighborhood find in Chelsea during a recent trip to NYC. Delicious food and great service. Will add to our list of favorites for Chinese and Thai food in Manhattan.
love this place..it is my go to place for out of town visitors. The menu NEVER changes yet
I am always satisfied with the menu without any changes. I love many of the dishes. I would love to see them add new dishes at least once a week to expand the menu a little but I love the beef dish, the fish dish, good pad thai, good dumplings...pretty much anything is satisfying.
I would recommend however not ordering take out. It does not taste as great after sitting in the containers as it does freshly made.
Delicious and delicate.
