Appetizers were amazing...cauliflower and truffle fries.
My finance and I dined at Chop Shop last week and had an awful experience. We had previously dined here once before with no issues. We came looking to participate in their $1 oyster happy hour. When we ordered we were told that we had secured the last 12 oysters. Two minutes later our server informed us that there were only 6 left and we were happy with that. A couple minutes later we were informed that there were no longer any oysters left and that we would have to order something else from the menu. Not ideal, but not a huge problem as we knew the quality of food was good and we could find something else to eat.
My finance ordered mussels and I gave the chicken sandwich a try. Some time passed and we saw our food delivered to the table next to us. Our server recognized that my sandwich was not what the gentleman next to me ordered and had that returned to the kitchen. The woman next to us began eating the mussels that were delivered. A couple of minutes later, our server came back and informed this woman that those were not in fact the mussels that she ordered. She then took them away, out of sight.
Three minutes later our food was brought out to us. My sandwich and fries were cold (as if they had been sitting for a few minutes having been mistakenly brought to the table next to us). My fiances' mussels were also cold. We asked the server if they were the same mussels that were served to the couple next to us - she said they were not and that she had dumped them out herself. At this point the manager came up and asked us if there was anything wrong. We described our suspicion to him and he said he would check with the chef. He came back a minute later and let us know that these were in fact the same mussels that had been served to the table next to us! He offered to have the mussels re-made, and did, but the damage was already done at this point. Not only was food that had been eaten and touched by someone else served to us, the server lied to us about it.
One our favorite neighborhood gems
Food and Service was great. Got a bottle of wine because it was on special that night, didn't realize it wasn't the wine we had ordered till we had already had a glass. Stayed for the show that night that was in the back. Very nice and cozy venue. I would see another show there.
Checking out CS for daughter’s post wedding brunch! Fit the bill for a casual and fun spot w/ a nice private outdoor space. The food selections we tried were just what we were looking for so they’ll get the contract!!
The food tasted good but they were out of most drinks we wanted to order... a white wine and two different beers. Also, we ordered oysters since it was the special (buck a shuck) and when we got the bill, they were not on special. The server never told us the deal ended at 7 nor did it say it on the menu (and we sat at 6:30). When we questioned this, she gave us back some money but did not honor the actual buck a shuck deal.
The food here is awesome and a great value. We had burrata, bacon, burgers, fried chicken and oysters and everything was perfect. Try the truffle fries and burrata for sure.
Service was slow and the place was pretty empty. Food arrived cold and a little over salted.
Great service and very accommodating
Food was not very good but service was excellent.
This is listed under "steak" and "steakhouse" so we were a bit disappointed to find that there was only 1 steak option to order on a Saturday night. I would NOT list this under "steak" or "steakhouse" as it's very misleading. However, the other food we ordered was very good. The atmosphere is fun and energetic. The waitstaff was wonderful. It's good for a burger joint. Not for a nice dinner night. Fun experience though.
Overall a great experience. I love being able to grab a bite to eat before a show in the back. I had the kale salad and it was absolutely delicious. I also highly recommend the deviled eggs. The only issue was they were very unprepared for the rush of people wanting to eat before a show. I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time, making it much earlier than the show, and arriving early for the reservation if you want to actually get seated. They made it work but it was a little hectic.
Great food! Our server was the only one on the entire floor, she was amazing to watch but our service suffered just to being so under staffed. The look and feel of Chop Shop was super fun, but if you want to even attempt to have a conversation it’s not happening upstairs....crazy super loud! Overall a fun place to have a meal.
Tables not good for high chair, food mediocre.
I have been to Chop Shop a handful of times and it has been really good. Went back Saturday with friends and it was certainly not bad but it wasn't as good as it has been in the past. Everything seemed to be really salty, outside of the amazing butcher board that we got. Our server was a little absent when we first sat down but by the time we were ordering she was much more attentive and helpful.
Had a great meal during restaurant week! Service, cocktails, and food were all spectacular.
Food was good. Our server was nice. It was Sunday brunch & there seemed to be a bottomless mimosa option which was not mentioned to our party.
Always a great meal! Love to go to the Chop Shop when we are in Chicago! Great burgers and the Hanger Steak is fantastic!
New Years eve
Awesome place with great food. Very pleasantly surprised...it was a real treat.
Butchers Board had a collection of awful meat and cheese, can only think they use thus menu item to sell whatever is about to expire from the butcher shop.
Went with a group of friends. Everybody enjoyed their meal. Our server, Tina, was he best!
Went to hear a wedding band!
Great place for brunch, everything was served hot, our server checked back often to make sure we had everything we needed, a bit noisy, but overall a great experience, and the food was delicious!
I liked the Chop Shop. The food was great. I highly recommend the butcher’s board as a starter. The space is beautiful and edgy. And the service was efficient (the right dishes came on time etc). There was something off about our server (overwhelmed? still learning? attitude? I could not figure it out) but I want to believe this was an one off thing. I am going back.
What a pleasant surprise. Stopped here for a quick bite. Great burger. Shishito peppers and the Brussels sprouts also very good
Attentive Staff and Quality dishes makes this a go to destination for a fun night out for dinner. They also have a Music stage for entertainment after dining - seperate enclosed room.
Wings were terrible, whatever glaze/Sauce they used had little to know flavor. Fries were oily and undercooked. If you can't cook fries , doesn't give me much confidence. First and last time eating there.
Sadly I was disappointed in ChopShop. The outdoor space was very cool, great ambience and bocce is fun. However the service was horribly slow, the food had virtually no flavor and the cocktail was terrible. They need some improvements.
Colleen was a fantastic server. Super thrilled with the menu and couldn't have been happier with the bartender and bar-back, super helpful and ultra kind. Thank you so much! We shall be back!!!
The food was good but at 10 pm, they only serve a very limited bar menu.
Husband had the rib eye special and he really enjoyed it. I had the gnocchi without the brussel sprouts which was very flavorful with the heirloom tomatoes and pecorino. Our waiter was very attentive and ready with suggestions. the Manhattan's were nothing special and the rose wine a little drier than I'd like, but that wasnt their fault. Noise level wasn't too bad initially, but the band's were doing sound checks and I imagine it would get loud later in dining area. Overall a fine experience - would probably return if in the area.
We are Chop Shop regulars, but were disappointed to see the steak wedge salad get dropped from the menu. Also, there was a bone in my chicken and the waitress didn't seem to care. Some improvement needed.
Service was incredibly slow and the steaks were good, but not worth the price. Will probably not return.
Food was delicious and food was great
Birthday dinner for our friend
Very cool place, disappointed in the meal, we went for brunch lobster Benedict was terrible sour and odd tasting, the breakfast sandwiches were okay nothing a special.
Went in the for a special date night with my wife. Had the buratta and split the steak. One of the best steaks I've had in the city. Simply amazing. The buratta was great too. We liked it so much that we came back two days later when my parents were in town and also had amazing food (Sunday Brunch type food).
Great Burger !
My wife had the siracha Chicken and that was also fantastic!
Good beer list and great shows on stage !
