Chop House is an innovative blend of classic British steakhouse and cocktail bar brought to you by the team behind Monteiths & the White Horse Oyster Bar. Provenance is at the centre of the Chop House offer and we use only the finest beef sourced from artisan suppliers across Scotland.
The meat is dry aged for up to 90 days to add flavour, increase tenderness then the beef cooked on a charcoal grill, specially designed to give a subtle smoky flavour. I ordered a rare steak and it came totally over cooked. We were in a hurry and they had taken long to bring the food so I couldn’t do anything about it. There was a group in a table nearby and one of those customers complained about the same thing, the waitress was very polite and ended up bringing him another steak.

We had a lovely meal. The steak was cooked to perfection for me, exactly what I ordered. The service was good and we were well looked after. The place was busy even though it was early evening but you could easily hold a conversation without having to shout across the table. We will definitely go again.

Excellent meal, steak and sauces delicious! Cocktails tasty. View was terrific upstairs looking out windows. Drinks could have been larger and a side could have been part of the main dish, not extra.

I just love this place - the food is fabulous in terms of quality, portion size and price, the service is top class and it's handy for Waverley station, what's not to like!

The bbq ribs starter was the most delicious I've ever eaten. The meat fell off the bone. The main course, steak, was top notch, however I felt the chips were over salted for my taste

My wife and I really enjoyed the food. She had the burger and I had the coal chicken. The burger was a bit soggy and the bun was smaller than the patty, but she said the taste was very enjoyable. The coal chicken was well seasoned and cooked nicely. The staff were always there to serve and help.

Seats so far off the ground it felt like I was dining at primary school. The menu had no denomination to show if prices were in Pounds, Dollars, Euros, Yen or Beans. Waitress got our starters wrong. The Straw Fries were tasteless and didn't complement the meal. Drinks and Menu overpriced. If you can afford to splash the cash to impress, then this is the place for you!
