Chop House is an innovative blend of classic British steakhouse and cocktail bar brought to you by the team behind Monteiths & the White Horse Oyster Bar. Provenance is at the centre of the Chop House offer and we use only the finest beef sourced from artisan suppliers across Scotland.

Absolutely gorgeous meat - we had stirloin. The half lobster was ok but felt a little soggy and there was tools to crack the shell or small fork to scrape the flesh which is standard when eating lobster. Although the booth a really nice and private there should be a central foot rest as it makes the seating very uncomfortable to have legs dangling down for the whole meal as the current footrest is quite low and too far back. Staff were great. Would go back for the quality of the food.

Sat at a booth table, as a short person I couldn’t get up or down from my seat without assistance. Food was great, service was great but won’t have a glass of wine again due to cost. £15 for a glass of Pinot , asked for water and was charged £5.50 for a bottle. Disappointed that tap water wasn’t offered. Visit was for my son’s birthday. And he loved the steak. But for one meal £230 was a lot for 3 people

I ordered a rare steak and it came totally over cooked. We were in a hurry and they had taken long to bring the food so I couldn’t do anything about it. There was a group in a table nearby and one of those customers complained about the same thing, the waitress was very polite and ended up bringing him another steak.

We had a lovely meal. The steak was cooked to perfection for me, exactly what I ordered. The service was good and we were well looked after. The place was busy even though it was early evening but you could easily hold a conversation without having to shout across the table. We will definitely go again.

Excellent meal, steak and sauces delicious! Cocktails tasty. View was terrific upstairs looking out windows. Drinks could have been larger and a side could have been part of the main dish, not extra.

I just love this place - the food is fabulous in terms of quality, portion size and price, the service is top class and it's handy for Waverley station, what's not to like!

The bbq ribs starter was the most delicious I've ever eaten. The meat fell off the bone. The main course, steak, was top notch, however I felt the chips were over salted for my taste

My wife and I really enjoyed the food. She had the burger and I had the coal chicken. The burger was a bit soggy and the bun was smaller than the patty, but she said the taste was very enjoyable. The coal chicken was well seasoned and cooked nicely. The staff were always there to serve and help.
