We arrived earlier than our reservation and Aron told us we are most welcome. He immediately gave us a table and endorsed us to Xinyu, who was in charge of the diners that evening. Xinyu, like Aron was amicable and efficient. She helped us with the menu and answered our questions. She was was quick, attentive and constantly asked us if everything was okay with our food. Although, she was alone tending to all the tables that evening she was quick and able to attend to everyone. The steak is among the best I have had in Edinburgh. It's aged beef and the flavor is just right. I'd dine here again next time I visit Edinburgh.

I don’t know what’s gone wrong with CH! Used to be a regular in leith - won’t be back at market street in a hurry. If I wanted to eat in a nightclub I’d have opted for somewhere else. Basic levels of service - drinks come out before the food, don’t clear plates from half the table while someone is still eating…thankfully the food is still ok

Arrived early for drinks from the bar.Then accommodated us by allowing us to dine early.Food was superb as was the whole visit. 5 stars.

Staff were fabulous - so helpful. So accommodating when we rang to say we would be 10 mins late due to festival traffic. Then were wonderful when they let me put birthday candles on my boyfriends steak and gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco. Fantastic treatment. So grateful. The porterhouse was delicious!!!!! and the cosmo cocktails were beautiful and delicious.

Very inflexible re what table we could sit at. Asked 4 times if we had allergies however very pleasant service overall. Good quality steak, £5 for about 10 chips and the same for a few mushrooms a bit ott. Wine extremely overpriced. Big plus point is they don’t automatically add tip to bill. Overall good experience, don’t mind higher city centre prices but some a bit ridiculous. Will definitely come back though - but no wine next time!’

This is a great steak house in a good location close to the train station and the Royal Mile/High Street. The service is slick and friendly. The ambiance is relaxed. The vibe is modern industrial design and the atmosphere is not formal. We had a great couple of cocktails to start. The steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious and served with fabulous chips and a decent Merlot wine. We also had the mussels which were very tasty. All very delicious and good value for central Edinburgh.

Not a good start I booked a table for the restaurant to give it to someone else. Had to wait 20 mins for this issue to get rectified. Food was good Service was ok but kept getting asked the same questions from different staff so that was a bit annoying Wouldn’t go back
