Lo mejor de la carne británica, preparada y añejada en seco en el propio restaurante y cocida sobre una parrilla de carbón de llama abierta. El restaurante Chop House es una mezcla innovadora de parrillada inglesa y bar de cocteles, manejado por el mismo equipo del Montheits Restaurant, el Sygn Bar y The West Room. El restaurante Chop House hace mucho hincapié en la procedencia de los ingredientes y utiliza únicamente las mejores carnes de res obtenidas de proveedores artesanales escoceses. La carne se corta en el lugar y se añeja en seco durante un periodo de hasta 90 días para acentuar el sabor e incrementar la ternura de la carne. Luego la carne se cocina en una parrilla de carbón de llama abierta, especialmente diseñada para darle un sutil sabor ahumado. Food and restaurant were amazing! Would definitely go again. Our waitress Ayesha was outstanding, what a laugh we had with her!

The food was delicious, and the service impeccable.My only criticism would be that we had the surf and turf so we had to use our hands to open the claws off the lobster which in turn made our hands very messy and smelly, all that was on offer to clean them was a paper napkin so we had to walk downstairs to the toilet to wash our hands. Maybe some scented hand wipes or a lemon water finger bowl should be offered with this dish. Also think the raspberry daiquiri was not good value, for £12 maybe a bit more in the glass!!!

Good portions on the steaks, very tasty. Decent service even if they seemed to be running around a fair bit.

Good food but definitely not a fan of a restaurant where staff on a day off are drinking at the bar- Gordon Ramsay would have a fit. Working staff were distracted by drinking staff which meant service was patchy. The chicken is now half the size yet the same price.

Our waitress was lovely and very helpful but unfortunately we were disappointed with our 4 meals on this occasion. We all ordered sirloin steak and none of them were spectacular and 1 was particularly tough and grissly. We told the waitress and she immediately offered us a free dessert each which we didn’t want but appreciated the offer. She was very apologetic. All out side dishes and sauces were very good. Everything was hot and tasty. We were on holiday so won’t be back anyway but probably would look elsewhere for steak in the future.

It's a small place near the train station, council offices and hotels. Booking a table was easy, the staff were friendly, but the seating was an odd bench, raised up and difficult to access for my elderly relatives. The wait for food was long and some menu items weren't available, but the staff kept us informed. For what we got, a steak and a separate side each, I felt the price was high. I could have walked into the city centre and had a better dining experience, but overall it was ok.

Dreadful service and food not up to scratch. This restaurant chain have never heard of serving roast beef with horseradish. Very poor. I should’ve known it’s just a place that takes advantage of tourists that are ignorant to their greed. No wonder the locals avoid it.

After being seated we sat 10-15 minutes before anyone visited. The server was very nice and polite, but not very attentive throughout the meal. Never offered a refill of beer or a new bottle of water. Very long time in between visits. My guess is she was assigned too many tables or too many tasks at one time. The prawns were exceptional. Very crisp outside, tender inside, and flavorful. The tomahawk ordered medium rare was rare and very sinewy/tendony. We couldn’t finish some of the steak because it was too raw, and about 1/3 was left over due to the sinew/tendon issue and it being raw. Probably not a high quality steak, which I should have guessed by the price. It was already cut when served so we couldn’t send it back for more cooking. It just doesn’t work that way. The Mac and cheese was good. Nice sharp flavors. It came out piping hot, so we actually tucked pieces of meat under the mac and cheese so it could sit at the bottom of the bowl and cook a little longer. We weren’t offered a dessert menu so I’m not sure if they have it. We wouldn’t have wanted any because we had bar flies hovering around us the entire time, constantly having to wave them off the beer and food. It was getting old. And the low quality and cook of the steak told me I should probably look elsewhere if I wanted dessert. They may do other dishes better there, but due to the experience I wouldn’t return to find out or recommend to anyone else.

We loved the Chop House in the past but it has lost some of its shine for us. Staff are lovely and helpful but seem a bit clueless and do not seem to know much about the different cuts on offer. The food is still great but very expensive for the quantities. Music is too loud so that people have to shout a bit to have a conversation (granted, we were all over 40 😆) which to us makes for 1 less star on the ambience front. Maybe we are just a bit too old for the place now!
