Chop Block and Brew - Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino Resort
Great Birthday dinner
Great food. Nice decor. Terrific place to dine at Ak-Chin resort. Attentive service. Good wine list. Very reasonable prices
We have tried this restaurant several times in the past and were disappointed a few times. Although we miss The Range on this visit we were not disappointed.
Our server, Juanita was excellent. She was very attentive making sure everything was to our satisfaction. We had the prime rib appetizer, salads, filet and lobster and the special feature of steak and shrimp with baked cheesy broccoli. The only thing we did not care for was the Caesar salads. The dressing was too sweet and the salad had way too much dressing. The appetizer and dinners were excellent.
It is still very chilly in the restaurant....they seem not to be able to regulate the air temp given the high ceilings and openness to bar/casino.
This is not my first experience with CB&B. Food was excellent as always. I was disappointed in my server when for my birthday, all the selection was a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Although I was thankful, I am lactose intolerant and asked if I could choose another dessert. My server straight out refused and never even mentioned maybe talking to the manager. I chose chocolate cake (and paid for it). As soon as the cake arrived, the vanilla ice cream arrived too! I gave the scoop to the couple across from us so I wouldn't waste it. They enjoyed it.
We came with family for the Clint Black concert and to enjoy the weekend at Harrah’s once again we weren’t disappointed! Our servicer was awesome! Our food was delicious, we had the Surf & Turf...yum! My Lemon Drop martini was fabulous! Thanks for making our night out great!
The food was outstanding for a casino. Service was the best we've had at Harrahs in a long time, thank you for being so kind.
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here for dinner and it was incredible! The food was amazing, the service was phenomenal, the atmosphere is exactly as you hope it would be for a nice dinner! Couldn’t be happier and have already been recommending my friends and family to dine there!
A very nice restaurant with a great look. It was a little strange that the bus person used the table next to us as a stop off point to regroup. We felt the price of $75 for a small filet and 1 crab leg was a bit much. The steak was delicious, but the crab leg seemed off somehow. We expect to pay a bit more in this type setting, but this meal seemed overpriced.
The service is always above and beyond. Personal touches. The attention to detail in food preparation is impressive. Three different menu choices at our table and all of us equally pleased with our selections.
Had a drink at the bar before dinner. Bartenders were great and drinks were excellent. Sat down for dinner and our waitress seemed super rushed, talked really fast and asked to take our order about a minute after we sat down. When she realized we weren’t ready she rushed off within asking if we wanted a drink to start. The tables are unusually large so if there’s just 2 of you (in this case it was me and my Mom) you’re quite far apart. Waitress came back and asked to take our order so I let her know we’d like to order a drink first. She just really seemed to want to rush us and honestly, for a Saturday night it wasn’t even all that busy. We placed our order and all my stars are for the amazing food! Lobster bisque, filet and risotto were amazing! If I ever come back, I would definitely sit at the bar. The restaurant ambiance was subpar compared to the food and the excellent bar service!
Juanita was our server, she was excellent...she was enthusiastic telling us about specials, and she was in constant contact throughout the meal making sure all was great and refilling drinks etc. couldn’t ask for a more personable and diligent server. Both of us started with French Onion soup...the soup was very good, one word to chef though, a bit less cheese and more caramelization on the cheese itself would make the dish perfection! I had the smoked prime rib with Mac and cheese on the side. Excellent, meat came out perfectly cooked medium as requested, meat was tender and super flavorful (love the smoked flavor), mac was smooth and creamy and plentiful. Husband had the meatloaf for the first time, was excellent and a huge portion. The sweet potato hash that comes with it was really wonderful. For desert, the carrot cake...another huge portion which was plenty for two with some left over. The carrot cake was probably the weakest link in the meal. It was fine, just not as good as the rest of our food.
Everything was good. Service was excellent. Nice place for a celebration dinner or just a dinner date out.
Once again the food and service at the Chop Block and brew met and exceeded our expectations. The loaded Baker my wife ordered was unbelievable. My smoked prime rib was awesome and the service was excellent. Little noisy but did not detract from out excellent meal.
The steaks are amazing and cooked perfectly!! Customer service is always great.
My jumbo bbq pulled pork macncheese potato was good as usual but luke warm this time like it sat on the counter. Slight confusion on my daughters dinner side items but corrected just delayed. Good food a little overpriced.
Our meal was amazing. The Chop Block and Brew never disappoints. It was the first time for our friends and the said they would definitely be back. The filet is so tender you can cut it with a fork. We tried the Sea Scallops this time and the were perfect. The servers are always friendly. Brenda and Denise were awesome.
Food was cold. Baked potato and soup. Had to be sent back but still not hot
Food was ordinary, steak was Luke warm versus hot when our table was 20 feet from the pass. Steak was flavorful, but was not juicy for a medium steak, like the cook presses the juices out when grilling. Salad had large core chunks in it and was only iceberg.
Was a great overall experience. Food was all amazing, service was excellent. Highly recommend the prime rib fondue, and the steaks!
Had the $25 burger. Soggy fries, hard roll, wilted bacon. Meat was pretty good, but not enough to justify cost. Would not buy it again.
Mind was good, but my husband's steak was not cooked properly and it was thrown on top of his mashed potatoes, he doesn't like his food to touch, he didn't complain cause he didn't want to wait longer for it to be re cooked
Very pleasant dining experience
our waiter was great. the food was the best i have had at a steakhouse. Steak cooked to perfection and risotto out of this world. Onion soup for appetizer was fabulous. Highly recommend. Compliments to chef!!!
As always, the food is fantastic and cooked to perfection! The filet is always flavorful and tender.
I took 3 friends there Saturday night had a reservation at 6:45 got in promptly. Our waitress took our drink order, when one of my friends asked which beer was better between 2 kinds she said your asking me? And then just looked at him and offered no opinion, came back a little later to get dinner order, a different server brought us rolls then we never saw the waitress for another 25 minutes we asked about our soup and salad she said oh it hasn't come out? I'll check on it and get you more rolls, she then didn't come back for another 10 to 12 minutes saying she thought we would get the salad and soup in a few minutes. When they were delivered it was by someone else, the salad was fine but the french onion soup was lukewarm, but no one came to see how things were. When the steak was finally delivered no one bothered to see if the steaks were cooked properly (and one wasn't) and we still had to ask a different waitress for the horseradish for the prime rib as well as the butter for a different steak as our waitress was missing. When she finally showed up we were half way thru the meal and she said oh good I'll refill your water and drink glasses now, when they had been empty for awhile. Never asked how the meal was or if we needed anything else. Then when we finally got her attention so we could leave my friend asked for a box for a piece of steak she wanted to take home and our lovely waitress said really for that little piece, she then only cleared half the table and wanted to know if we wanted dessert, seriously with the service no way we just wanted to get out of there. Then when the bill was brought to us by the manager he said since there was a mix up in the kitchen they took off half the meal. We didn't need the bill adjusted just wanted good service and a nice meal out with friends, but instead it left everyone saying never going there again. There was no mix up our waitress didn't do her job and pretty much didn't seem to care.
My friends and I eat at Chop Block & Brew a couple of times a month. It seems like each time there are issues that are disturbing to us. We keep trying because when it is good, it is great. Last night two of the soups came out warm, not even close to hot. They were sent back. They were out of Martini glasses so our Martinis were served it "other" type of glasses. This is not the first time they have been out of the proper glasses. This is not the only time we have been served food that is not done correctly. It also seems like they never have enough help to provide superior service. At the prices we pay we expect better service. Our server was very good but to busy. We had to get the attention of a manager to tell him about the cool soup. As locals we really want to support the Chop Block and Brew. We expect more than we have been receiving. When it is good as stated, it is great. It should be great all the time.
It was amazing! Next time though, I wouldn’t want to be seated so close to the kitchen.
Over priced for the portions other than that it was fine.
We had excellent service and the food tasted great! We would go again.
My wife ordered the half chicken. When she received it the inside had blood running out of it. The chef was notified, my wife reordered a chicken breast which was edible. The chef never came to the table and told the waitress to tell us that is how they are cooked. WTF raw chicken is not healthy. Please advise your so called chef she is wrong! My wife is a food service serve safe manager and would love to discuss this one! And then the final insult was the raw chicken was not removed from the bill. My wife was not even offered a complimentary meal. We were entraining friends and we were totally embarrassed. Not going back again after a $200 plus dollar meal we couldn’t eat!
We had a seafood pasta dish. It was excellent. Large scallops, shrimp, pieces of lobster. Best ever. Dinner salad was also very good. I had a seafood chowder soup. Very tasty. Service was excellent. Server was available when need and very friendly
Thank god that arrogant young lady at the check in desk is no longer there. Now, they are very friendly at check in.
Very nice for business or pleasure. Great staff great environment.
The food is amazing. I always get the Filet Mignon, it is so tender. Salads are great, Baked potatoes are yummy, and their Desserts are the best!!
Staff is very friendly. A little noisy with the way tables are set up. We sat in the main walkway, so maybe it is quieter farther back. We also prefer a booth (usually along a wall) and most are tables of 4-8 people in the middle.
We enjoyed our meals and wine and would recommend it for special occasions or date night. It is not an everyday type dinner place.
This was our second time at the restaurant within a year... we had a bad experience the first time but my wife thought we would give it another try. Unfortunately I will not be back again... for the price we pay for a steak it should been a lot better... I’ve paid half that price elsewhere and hands down much better meat. This had so much fat and grissle on it it took up a full plate for the 2 of us. Service was great. I don’t know where you buy your meat or who buys it but I could do a better job and get better meat from another supplier. Not trying to be arragant That’s just reality. No referrals here.
Steak was supposed to be medium rare and it was brought to us as medium well. My side was macaroni and cheese. They took the steak to get another and by the time they returned everyone was done! I had eaten my side waiting so then just had my steak. No apology or visit from manager. Food was just not great even the Mac and cheese was cold.
Chop Block & Brew did not disappoint! The service was exceptional. Our meal was super yummy! I had the Brew salad with blackened shrimp. My salad was fresh & delicious and shrimp super big and tasty. My hubby had a Brew salad with grilled chicken that looked equally delicious. We enjoyed them warm bread brought table side. My Lemon Drop was light & fresh! We topped off our delicious dinner with a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Words can not described just how good that dessert truly was. Yum! Yum!
Normally the food is very good. This time the two lobster tails were chewy. My husbands Halibut fish was excellent. The service was slow. apparently our server was late. The lobster tails for $90 were on the high side.
Food was good (better quality casino fare). Service was phenomenal, great job by the bartender (Terrence) and the waitstaff (Nick and Cheli). Hats off to the staff managing the reservations and assisting us with booking. Well done. Thanks!
Would like to see a fresh fish option on menu. In my opinion very limited.
