Creative Japanese
Chomp Chomp defines a unique Pacific Northwest experience inspired by the Japanese Northwest. Enjoy a comfortable atmosphere and gently expand your culinary horizons while enjoying an excellent selection of local and Japanese craft brews, excellent "traditional" cocktails as well as mixology inspired by Japanese aromatics and citrus. Delight yourself with delectable Kushiyaki and Kushiage fare during the day that pairs well with our signature cocktails, and in the evening be astounded by an exciting dinner menu bringing the best of the Northwest from two countries. Chomp Chomp is not another Asian restaurant. It's a place where you're like family, where you can come eat or drink and say "Wow! I didn't know that even existed and it was GREAT!"

Wonderful food! We ate outside on the sidewalk, so I can't comment on what the restaurant looked like, but our server was great and so was the food! We'll be back.

What a delicious and innovative restaurant in Bend! We had dinner here that exceeded expectations. Delicious savory yakitori with house dipping sauces — amazing ramen and sticky wings we deemed the best we have ever had. This spot opened apparently just before the COVID lockdown and is slowly gaining some followers. Pricing is beyond reasonable for portions and quality — we will call this a new favorite and must stop every time we are inn Bend.

My wife and I had dinner at CHOMP CHOMP on a Sunday night. Though we had reservations, I suspect from the number of diners present, we would not have had a problem walking in off the street. The layout was good with loft seating above which overlooked the tables, bar, and wall-mounted TVs below. For dinner, I ordered the tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) and my wife had the karage (Japanese fried chicken). I'd have to say that both dishes were over-salted so keep that in mind if you'll be ordering them. The karage did not have any sides, such as rice, come with the dish. All you got was a bowl of fried chicken "nuggets." In addition, there was no sauce included with the karage so you really only had the chicken nuggets to eat! I recommend that you ask for some sauce on the side, namely the tonkatsu sauce and the spicier Siracha-type sauce. Otherwise, your karage will taste dry and not too flavorful. The tonkatsu dish was a little bit disappointing. In addition to being too salty, it seemed overcooked like it was in the deep fryer for too long. The pork was not tender and rather tough in texture. The tonkatsu dish did come with rice and some salad greens. I had to combine both with a piece of the tonkatsu before I ate it to decrease the saltiness. In the end, the bill was around $50, which included $15 for the corking fee (we brought our own wine).

I don't know if I'd recommend CHOMP CHOMP to others right now. Maybe if the quality of food matched the quality of the service we received, I would wholeheartedly recommend. However, right now, based on my experience, I cannot.
