During a busy Sunday brunch shift the other 5 people and myself were treated very well. While we sat at home the bar as the rest of our party trickled in the host continually checked on us which I found to be very pleasant. Once we were seated, our server Ian was very attentive and kept our glasses full! Great dining experience I will be returning
LOVE IT ,,, DONT MIND GO BACK WHEN I GET A CHANCE😆😆😆😆😆😆
The food was delicious. Two of us had the shrimp and grits while the other two had the red velvet pancakes and fried chicken. I also got the bottomless cranberry mimosas. Loved everything and would highly recommend stopping here. A bit pricey but was expected.
Drinks were weak. Very pricey. Slow food service. However, the food is delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive. I’d go back, but will be careful what drinks I order.
I had to give the service a low score - not because the server was bad but because there weren't enough of them. AND the food took forever to come. The server kept apologizing for the delay but the amount of time it took for the food to arrive was extreme.
Disappointing. Reservation time not honored, long wait for seating and serving, table area had an insect issue, some guests food not cooked thoroughly. Management did adjust final payment in accordance with dissatisfactory experience.
We enjoyed the food, service and ambiance!!! The music was an awesome bonus.
The entire experience was disappointing. Although the restaurant was not busy at 5pm when we arrived, employees seemed disinterested and caught up in their own banter to pay any attention to us. Our server was new and could not make recommendations about the food. The chicken dinner did not come with the collard greens promised. We were told that they ran out of them. Again it was 5pm and the restaurant was not busy. Our server never apologized for this issue and seemed frustrated that we were unhappy. Finally he said the chef would provide grilled asparagus. The chicken was boneless - more like chicken fingers you’d serve a child. And the salmon was dry. There was an altercation with another group who were unable to pay their bill after being informed that the restaurant’s credit card machine wasn’t operating. Our server inserted himself into the situation and rather than apologizing to the customers for this inconvenience he made everything worse by announcing that he could “Get ghetto too. “ it was dismissive and insulting. The server never thanked us for our patience or apologized for the food issues we experienced. We’ll never go back.
Had an hour wait after having reservations then the server didn’t even sit us she pointed to where we should sit at. Mango margarita was original margarita. Guess establishment can’t handle 6+ people
The experience for the most part was very good. The food was great. When we commented how the music was a little loud, it seemed like they heard us a turned it down to a conversational level.
I expected more attention from waiter, think they just needed another one on duty during brunch on a Saturday ~ Food was decent, they didn’t bring butter for my French Toast & it was like warm when I received it. The waiter never came back in order for me to complain or send it back.
Great experience, great food! Vlad was phenomenal
Met my girlfriend's for brunch. First time in Harlem and I was not disappointed. Food was good. Staff was very friendly and professional. Will definitely be returning soon.
The waiter was amazing and those red velvet pancakes and fried chicken was the best. We will be back
Dined at Chocolat with my wife for lunch. We spent 3 weeks in Harlem however this was our first opportunity to enjoy a meal without the kids. We both agreed that this was the best dining out experience during our stay in New York.
We both ordered drinks - cant remember the names of either drink. Our server, Vladimi, prepared our drinks and gave us what was remaining at no extra charge.
I had the chocolat bbq burger.
The restaurant serves brunch Monday through Friday. From the brunch menu, My wife ordered the chicken and red velvet pancakes. Both entrees were great! The chicken was perfectly seasoned with nice crispy skin and the pancakes were so good that we didn’t need syrup.
The burger was tasteful. I appreciate that the cook placed all of the toppings and condiments on the side. The steak fries were hot and crispy.
The ambiance was very welcoming and relaxing. You could smell sage burning as you entered the door and they were playing a nice throwback R&B mix. The walls were decorated with beautiful artwork, which i believe can be purchased.
I highly recommend Chocolat! I look forward to dining here again during my future stays in Harlem.
I was absolutely in love with this place, the ambiance beautiful art on the wall, beautiful waiters, beautiful people of color, mixture of music. I went here for my birthday and I had a really great time. I will recommend everyone try the chicken and red velvet pancakes.
SHRIMP AND GRITS Are a MUST if you do brunch here. Margaritas were delicious
Great, friendly wait staff that filled our bottomless mimosas to the brim. Had live sports and when games were over they played good music to sing along to. We showed up at 11:45 and it was almost empty, but people started flooding in around 12:30 or so for brunch/lunch.
This restaurant has been a cornerstone in my "Me Time" dates, for a few months. Absolutely love it.
The food was so good I went Thursday and went back Saturday night
Great place. Beef short ribs and macaroni and cheese were deee-lish!!
This was my second time dining at Chocolat. The food and service are good but the prices are way too expensive. I think the quality of the drinks can be increased and maybe lower the price as well. I will return to Chocolat but only for brunch.
Service was great. Food delicious and original comfort food. Owner onsite and very welcoming. Friendly and attentive waiters.
The waiters and the owner are so kind. They are very attentive and all about pleasing the customer. They have great personalities and have awesome food and restaurant design.
I canceled my event because the restaurants manager was nasty and very belittling when I called to set up the reservation after booking the event online.
I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I thought it would be a fun and vibrant place to discover with my friends but it was none of that. The food was ok, nothing special. We had to wait so long to order and then again to get our food for the three of us: 1 appetizers: one plate with two fish tacos, 2 same salads, and 1 regular burger. The waiter was nice but so slow and disorganized. The decor is not spectacular and tables and chairs are The grandpa style ! And why on earth is the food so expensive?!! Nothing justifies it. I would definitely not go back.
Wonderful Father's Day dinner.
It was great but the food took a very long time to come.
The hostess that was on duty when my party of 3 arrived refused to seat us (myself being 7 months pregnant) until the Evening hostess arrived. We were only there for drinks and appetizers, but since the kitchen was transitioning from Brunch to Dinner we were told we could not grab drinks at the bar and sit at a table until the kitchen reopened, although there were multiple open tables available. I was extremely uncomfortable sitting on a bar stool until the next hostess(who was great) arrived and seated us as soon as she was able to secure a server. Thankfully the music was nice and the bartender was very attentive and accommodating.
Went through for a brunch date with my GF. The music was great and the overall feel and ambiance was really comfortable. The food was awesome! And everything just worked well together.
Brunch is always great when I come to chocolat. The geeeter needs to work on her facial expression. She’s comes off as if she has a attitude. Besides that great food great service (waiters) and great drink. Great experience
Worse experience ever, tables and chairs had crumbs all over and we were seated there anyway. When waiter finally appeared, he didn’t bother to greet us and asked right away if were we ready to order. What was most disappointing about this experience is that we traveled from Jersey for the experience and were highly disappointed. Needless to say, we didn’t stick around long enough to taste the food. What we experienced in the short 10 minutes we were there was enough to chase us out. We ended up at Cecil’s right around the corner and the experience was so pleasant that we were glad Chocolat’s staff and ambiance chased out.
The food is excellent, the staff is amazing and the Harlem vibe is present. It was and always has been a great dining experience.
The food was great the seating in our booth was torn but the music was too loud we had to yell at each other to have a conversation.
The food was delicious and the service was great! I would highly recommend this establishment.
Dante was excellent
My server sucked. The food came out cold. My opinion is it's too expensive for this type of service period.
Went for brunch - picky eaters and everyone enjoyed something. Love the Shrimp and Cheesy Grits and the Fish Croquettes. Yum.
Pros: Very nice ambiance & great music. The dessert (red velvet cake) was delicious! Cons: the appetizers & food took WAYYY to long to arrive. The food was also OK.
The service was very bad waitress over 45 mins for the food to come out .
