After having brunch here a few weeks ago with some friends and raving about my experience I made plans with a different set of friends for a nice Sunday brunch. Although we had a scheduled reservation the wait time was minimal after being seated we were greeted by a server who attempted to poor water in dirty glasses (one glass with a visible lipstick stain) after requesting new glasses we placed our food order when asked what unlimited drink we wanted and requesting bellinis we were notified that they no longer had any bellinis left but he would confirm with the bar. He returned to notify us that it was not available. GREAT! So we oblige and order pineapple mimosas. My reservation was for 3:30 we were seated at 3:50 ordered just before 4pm and our food arrived pretty quickly (4 out of 5 orders)the fifth order arriving 15 mins after ... when the waiter delivered the food he notified us they had no clean champagne glasses and that he was unsure how long it would take. Our first rounds of mimosas came at 4:35 and our server was slow at refilling glasses (not sure why a carafe wasn’t left at the table for self refill) check was brought to us and paid and our last refill was given at 5:30 after finding the server and inquiring as to how long the unlimited is suppose to last he confirm 1.5 hours and if I’d like he would bring more mimosas. Funny enough he comes to the table empty handed stating they were making more and it would be ready in 10 minutes after about 30 minutes I request to speak to the manager. I explain to the manager what happened and she sends the server with one additional round of mimosas. For 30 minutes of no drinks we received one round! After driving 40 minutes from white plains to support a black owned business in Harlem I was disappointed and unhappy with the service and customer recovery exhibited by this establishment. We didn’t receive what we paid for (in regards to 1.5 hours of mimimosa) & to top it off the tip was included and not deserved.
Even with a reservation the wait time was 30 minutes. They stuck us in a room with a Birthday party..
Food lacked flavor. Staff was all over the place. Wasn't worth $ spent
Very disappointed with the options available to our group. It started at the bar, where options were very limited. How do you not have a Cabernet as an option for wine. When we asked for an orange for our Blue Moon beer, they didn’t have any.
When we ordered our food, a member of our party asked for Jerk chicken and requested the breast and wing. We were told that we could not make that request and would have to take what ever was available.
The kicker was at the end of the night when members of our party requested coffee with their dessert. We were told that they did not have any coffee available. That was the last straw. We won’t be going back to that establishment.
Unfortunately my party and I never made it to the table. Upon arriving to the restaurant there was no hostess by the door for about half an hour. The "hostess" was also being the bartender and every time we tried to get her attention she said one minute and never got back to us. There was a long line of people waiting at the door to either be seated or put their names down and none of them had been helped either. None of the waiters knew what was going on and didn't provide any assistance. We had to tell them more than 5 times we had a reservation and none of them thought to check their list. We waited almost 45 minutes just to have several groups to go ahead of us including people who did not have a reservation. We were NEVER given an estimate wait time. The service was absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful. For a place that has been open for several years you would think they had no idea how to run a Sunday Brunch. Busy or not, what is the point of taken reservations if you don't follow up with them.
Fantastic evening. Good food and great music. Highly recommend this establishment
First, we started at the bar for happy hour. The bartender wasn’t very attentive to the customers. Often, we would have to call her over with requests.
There wasn’t anyone at the hostess stand for quite some time; perhaps for over an hit, no one consistently occupied the hostess stand.
The food wasn’t bad, but for the price, it could have been better. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating.
The silverware and glasses we received were dirty. One of our orders was messed up. They couldn’t get it right at all. But we had a great time and the food was delicious.
Loved it!!
Went for my sister’s birthday. The service staff was nice and attentive. The food was ok but lacked seasoning you’d expect when reviewing the menu- looked like “soul food”. Overall experience was ok but our guest weren’t impressed.
Family gathering, we had a wonderful time, the service was wonderful and the food was excellent.
The food and portions at Chocolat was very good. However, we waited almost 5 minutes to be seated and the bartender didn’t even notify the host that customers had arrived. She didn’t even acknowledge us until I approached her and asked that she retrieve someone if we could not select a seat for ourselves. Not cool. Our waiter “Ali” was very nice and knowledgeable. He gave great feedback about the food and was very accommodating. Nice music played while we waited for our food.
Enjoyed my time here. My waiter was awesome ! The music was on point !
Music to loud for table conversation.
I had the southern fried chicken entree and it was delicious. The service was great and I recommend their rum swizzle cocktail.
This was my second time at Chocolat. My first time was a Sunday brunch and that experience was significantly better than last Saturday evening. I was seated at 5:15pm and my food arrived at 7:10pm. I thought 5pm would give me enough time for a 8pm show at the Apollo but we were rushing. I got the fried chicken dish that came with the option of mashed potatoes or mac & cheese. I wanted mac & cheese and received mashed sweet potatoes. I didn’t have time to inform the server. The food tasty but not worth the wait. If I return it would only be for a drink. The bartender was very attentive and prompt. The ambiance is also really nice with great music.
Upon entering the establishment I was acknowledged. The young bartender was nice and attentive.HOWEVER my date and I purchased the unlimited mimosas. I got three good drinks while my bf only had one, until what seems the manger (older lady) took Over the bar area. She made the worse mimosas , served us straight orange juice and made our stomach extremely full and uncomfortable. I brought it to her attention and she came and poured into our cups from the champagne bottle. When it was time for the next one, we had to settle for the same batch of orange juice. The food was good, staff was nice but I will never go back! 40 dollars down the drain.. for unlimited orange juice.
A little pricey but the food was good and so was my Belini
I’ll probably never go out to eat on Valentines Day again!!
Nice place and good food Nd great drinks Mac and cheese was good
Great eats
Pricey for sure! But the overall service was very good!
We went to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Our server was wonderful and helped to make the experience a good one. The food was good but not great. I got the lamb chops which were good but my husband’s steak was grisly. The red velvet cake was wonderful and worth every bite. The music was good but way too loud, it made it difficult to have a good conversation. I replaced my wine order and even then wasn’t thrilled, so I don’t think the wine selection is their strong suit. The folks next to us went for the house specialty - the fried chicken and Mac and cheese- they were completely delighted. I would definitely go back to give that a try.
The service was great, the waiter was vey attentive
Great restaurant. My husband and I certainly will return.
We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We enjoyed the food and my wife enjoyed her birthday.
Portions very small, over priced, some of the food cold, hostess rude and curt, small tables. Drinks decent more like juice. Server not very knowlegable regarding menu, service slow. Had to look for server to get additional items. Will most likely never go back or recommend.
Loved it. This is my 3rd time going and the food was great!
I sat at the Bar and it was a nice service throughout the place!
The portions are great, the food is delicious and our server was pleasant and attentive. Will go back.
Food is overpriced. I had to get spinach instead of arugula in my beet salad. Not that tasty and needed more dressing. Spinach also had to replace the vegetable with the crab cakes.
Nice restaurant, and wonderful customer service!!!
Had an excellent night out with the ladies & the food was great .
Everything was great but the service was lacking. We never received our appetizer and constantly looking for our waiter to refill our drinks! The food was great though
The food is pricey given the quality. It was a better value before. Now not sure it’s worth it. It’s sad because staff are lovely and so is the atmosphere.
Cannot even submit a thorough review for this restaurant. My party and I were never seated even though we made a reservation. The hostess was reluctant to communicate and when my friend asked for a glass of water, which he was denied at the bar due to lack of water cups, the hostess quickly got an attitude before he got his question out and said “Please do not ask me if your table is ready.” Poor assumption made on her part and I am not eager to return.
The service was extremely slow. Could never find the waiter. The food took a long time to arrive. Order the salmon and salad. Salmon had no seasoning. My best friend ordered the lamb chops and mashed potatoes. Neither was tasty. Ordered the watermelon martini. It tasted artificial like cheap mixers. My best friend ordered a drink with champagne. The drink was warm. Very disappointed. Will never dine here again.
Just an opinion, playing afrobeat music would be nice, overall had a wonderful time
This is my 3rd time and I wasn’t pleased with the food at all. My 2 trips prior the food was great, idk what happened this time.
The food was great, service great, the vibes were great. Worth the visit. Will be back next week for brunch again!
