I've been here many times. The vibe of the brunch is always a hit but the restaurant should really have other options for those that are vegan or those that do not eat dairy/meat but may eat seafood. We do like to eat things other than salad. the only options are potatoes or a salad so I really didnt enjoy it. These are just somethings to think about for the brunch menu. Especially if there is an unlimited mimosa option, doesnt really go well with a salad thats on the menu
Reservation times aren’t honored, venue is small so when accommodating large parties they struggle to still seat everyone else. Overpriced food & subpar service. Probably wouldn’t go back, it was a nice place but they just didn’t have the staff or floor space to deal with a true Sunday brunch crowd.
Great Experience! The food and service were excellent! We had red velvet pancakes/chicken, salmon, pasta, and braised short ribs. We also ordered the cornbread for an appetizer. We were all very happy. I wish that we had room for dessert.
amazing food, great cocktails. hostess was very accommodating. lively atmosphere
I heard a lot of good things about the restaurant, no good things occurred while I was there! Our servers were a little confused, and gave one of our appetizers to the wrong table and we were still charged. I don’t know I don’t think I would return back for a second time. I encourage you to try it out for yourselves, maybe you’ll have a different experience.
In the past I would have recommended Chocolat to friends and family but after my recent visit I will not be returning and I don’t recommend anyone else return. The food was just ok this time even though my wife was craving the croquettes and grits she left very disappointed.
The gnats in our seating area only added to the dissatisfaction of our overall visit. The cleanliness needs to be improved ASAP.
Awesome experience. The staff was nice. The shrimp and grits and croquette and grits taste great! The red velvet pancakes were nice and sweet. The Belinni and mimosas were awesome. Nice amount of wine and/or champagne in both. I will definitely be back.
Great brunch! Waiter was attentive and pleasant would recommend. Will definitely be back on my next visit
Our server was very pleasant, but didn't check in enough to see that everything was okay.
This place was phenomenal. The food was exceptional. Ordered the honey butter biscuits twice.
The red velvet pancakes alone are indeed worth the trip for brunch!
We booked for Sunday Brunch as we were on holiday. Food was fantastic as were the staff, very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
I took my friend out for her birthday, neither the ribs nor the steak were seasoned. Additionally my steak was over cooked.
I love this restaurant, we drive in from jersey to eat here..food is fantastic..we spent my bday here Saturday
The waiter was not very approachable, took really long to provide service and the food was not great for the price in comparison to other brunches in Harlem area.
Our server was amazing! The food was also incredible
Made reservation ahead of time. Table was ready upon arrival. Everything was excellent! Service and Food! Will definitely visit again!
Perfect place to celebrate my sisters 50th. Amazing food & service, the reviews were well deserved.
The food was horrible. The service was ok. There were only 2 people working at the time. Need better cooks.
Yes, I would recommend this restaurant to my friends. It has a great atmosphere and the service was good.
Father and son dinner, had excellent food and friendly staff. Owners came by and introduced themselves. Will definitely be back.
I do feel as considering for the price, a couple extra slices of French toast or pieces of chicken to the orders wouldn’t hurt
Overall the vibe is really nice. The restaurant is spacious and good for groups. Food is very good— there was a very strange incident with a meal being taken back and delivered to someone at another table (after it sat at ours for a few min— suspect). Other than that, it’s a really nice brunch spot with friendly staff.
The service was impeccable! The food was so delicious. Everything was 5 star! I can’t wait to come back to nyc! Chocolat will be my first stop!
This restaurant was amazing I truly loved it and the workers definitely recommend it !!
I would recommend this place because the food is always really good. Brunch and dinner. But the wait for the food for me is always long. That’s my only gripe with this place. Food takes too long. And their mimosa are the weakest in Harlem. But I would come back.
I had a professional development in the area and came here for lunch. I ordered the southern fried chicken salad. The salad was tasty and filling. The service was impeccable. The server was attentive without being overbearing. I wish they had a budget friendly lunch menu. However, I had enough to have leftovers for later that day. I will visit again.
Food was absolutely amazing like always. Everyone enjoyed their meal will definitely be going back
The service was good, food is good but no over the top. Would go back for dinner when visiting harlem.
Place was nice, modern music. Excellent tasting food. Prices are mid to higher range and they do not allow too much swapping of the dish items. Overall will definitely revisit.
Made reservations for bar seating for 3 on a Thursday, we arrive and are seated at a table, restaurant empty and had a weird odor. Garlic honey butter biscuits were not as described.. basically pillsbury biscuits with butter not a taste of garlic nor honey .. Mac n cheese was bland and lacked the most important ingredient “CHEESE”, collard greens bland, no salt n pepper at the table to wake up any of the food, chicken was fried crunchy but again BLAND! Just an overall horrible experience. I don’t see myself coming back EVER. First and last visit.
I would recommend only because the food was good. However, when I asked to take away my food, it seems as if someone dropped it and it was all over the place. The leftovers made my stomach hurt when I ate it the next day. If it was dropped and they still packed my food, they should be ashamed of theirselves.
Amazing brunch experience with beautiful staff and patrons of color! The delicious Seafood Croquettes and Grits came second to the amazing customer service provided by Woody and the rest of the Chocolat team.
I chose Chocolat because I live in the neighborhood and always make sure that I patronize my businesses. I saw the owner move around the restaurant and at no time did he make I contact to say hello or welcome. I had just attended a panel discussion on how to we grow our business as african American business owners and customer service was a topic. I think he should at least acknowledge. When I go to Melba’s she is always moving around and thanking her customers.
Service outstanding! Great food! Great vibes! Overall a great experience & would absolutely go again!
Waiter was nice. Chocolate martini was great! Good portions of food.
We walked into the restaurant and didn't revive a greeting because the hostess was on her phone texting. Then the bus boy comes to the table and starts pouring with no greeting. Received the food in 14 mins after being seated, not complaining about the fast preparation but that was a clue that the food would be terrible. We ordered the steak and chicken and pancakes. The steak was tough and clearly a frozen piece of meat. The taste was so bad I spit it out. Never thought you could mess up pancakes, but they sure did. And the famous fried chicken, HORRIBLE. Lastly, the bottomless wasn't so great because we had to keep waving our waiter down to even refill the glasses. We tried every flavor of mimosas and they all made us cringe. We paid over $100 for poor service and DISGUSTING food. we will never be back. We both agreed, chicken nuggets from Mc Donald's would've satisfied our stomachs much more. Finally we ran out and still couldn't get the hostess to say a word, her phone was more important than her job.
Great service and the red velvet pancakes and fried chicken oh my!!!!
I absolutely love this place. The food is always good. I travel from midtown up to Harlem at lunchtime and I am never disappointed. I normally have the chicken and French toast and it's so yummy.
Great food and excellent service. The Red Velvet pancakes and fried chicken was delicious. The earlier you arrive for brunch the cozier it is.
