I have been using open table for over nine years. Never in all of this time, have I shown up at a restaurant to not have a table ready. Ok so it started off rough. A table was then pieced together in the middle of another group party. It was completely ridiculous. We were a party of 4. After requesting to be moved, we were told that there would be a very short wait. 15 minutes later we still had no table. We were on time for our 10pm reservation. There should have been no excuse or reason that we were not immediately accommodated. Our friends were visiting from out of town, so this definitely left a bad taste in their mouth as well. After the 15 minute wait and still no seats, we left the restaurant. It was an absolute horrible experience. If I could rate the restaurant with no stars I would.
Food was good. Had a reservation that didnt go over well but had a decent time.
It had an amazing ambiance. The server I had seemed overwhelmed and checked on us every 20-30mins. It’s took us awhile to even receive our entree. He also forgot our drinks. The food was okay, mine came out slightly cold. With a few adjustments this place could be great
Upon walking into the restaurant the music level was loud. While being seated, we noticed that the couple across from us got up to leave but their entire plate of fried chicken was still sitting on the table. After ordering, the couple next to us told the waiter that they found metal in their salad. Now our entrees arrived and my boyfriend ordered the fried chicken. He found macaroni in his mashed sweet potatoes and 4 chunks of lambs in his collard greens/spinach (whatever it was) ... the service needs an upgrade especially for the price that your paying.
food wasnt bad but wasnt great! defiantly not worth the price and the drinks were over priced as well.
seems like another case were a b rating restaurant charges five star restaurant prices
Wonderful food and experience. Was recommended by a friend and brunch was terrific. Only issue was the LOUD birthday party that was going on right next to us but they were having a good time. Service was good and those never ending alternative fruit mimosas were terrific.
I love chocolat, I would come here every Sunday for brunch. Definitely make a reservation; they honor reservations which is convenient due to the wait times. On Sundays, the wait can be a bit long so definitely make a reservation. The food is always cooked to perfection. Everything about this place is perfect.
Great restaurant great food!!! Will be sure to visit again!!!
Great food! Good atmosphere! We celebrated my aunt’s birthday here and she enjoyed it. Excellent red velvet pancakes and cheesecake.
I would have loved to be informed at the time of the order that the mimosa’s are bottomless only. I would generally only have ordered one glass and not pay $20 pp for bottomless. While Iran in the menu it should be made clear by the waiter that its not by glass only at the time of ordering.
The food was absolutely excellent. Cozy and inviting. The service was great and I had a wonderful experience.
Really nice restaurant with great customer service. The food was good as well. The drinks were not good. I ordered a mango martinis but did not taste any mango flavor. Could not finish the second drink. Tasted like tequila and lemon water.
Very nice restaurant. The prices are great. The service is excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant is lovely. I will being keeping this on my places to frequent again.
I have been here plenty and usually for very busy Sunday brunch, for the first time the server was not on point. I had to continue to remind him to refill my glass. First couple of times I didn’t mind but realizing it was not a busy Sunday. For the 1st time I was really unhappy with there overall service.
First time going, had a great experience. Didn't have to wait to be seated. My waiter IAN knew exactly wat was needed and kept my glass full at all times. He was superb. Definitely will come back as long as i can get IAN. LOL
always a solid family sunday brunch spot
This was my second eating experience at Chocolat,in celebration of my sons birthday and we had an awesome Brunch. I highly recommend the red velvet pancakes and southern fried chicken..super yummy!!
I absolutely loved the food. The music was great for me as well. I made reservations so I did not have to wait to be seated. Glad I did, the restaurant was very crowded.
The ambiance of the restaurant definitely needs an upgrade. For the price, the drink quality is moderate. Their menu has been the same for quite a while. A menu upgrade would be nice. Overall quality of food is good.
Absolutley loved the food. Everyone had cleaned there plates.
Great tasting food .
Nice music .
Nice place good vibes
I really enjoyed myself here the food was amazing! . The drinks were delicious. Enjoyed the music . Over all I love this place! I will be coming back !
Excellent service and food. Thinking about reserving space for a group gathering. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and go back.
1st time coming for dinner with a friend will definitely come back again
I love Chocolat and this was my third time going. I know I had to go for my birthday because they haven’t disappointed me yet!
I celebrated my birthday here and it was amazing. From start to finish the service was impeccable. The food was amazing there were 6 of us and we all ordered something different shrimp and grits, red velvet pancakes/French toast and fried chicken, seafood croquets and turkey burgers! We tasted it all! Our server was named Marcus! He served us with down home southern style Mississippi hospitality!
The owner was very gracious!
Had a very nice birthday brunch with my mentee. The food was great. The service was outstanding. Look forward to going back again soon.
Food was good hostess was exceptional for seating and pleasantry...
The service was slow I had to ask for menu.. from patron sitting at bar I was waiting for friend …. never asked bar did I want to place order bar tender after twenty minute came over I ordered a drink. girlfriend came over I requested dinner menu and then we placed order.. food came rather quickly....mango drink was horrible... bar tender removed from the bill...arugula salad chicken wing and chicken breast was delicious... I would go there again....
We went for brunch. Mediocre food experience though we didn’t have the red velvet pancakes. High priced for it as well.
It was my birthday
Disappointing is not even close to what I felt. The restaurant was empty when we got there, there was no excuse for the service being what it was. An example, there was no coffee made when we were ready for dessert. Our reservation was for 7PM. At about 7:30-7:45 another large group came in (we were 6) and that was it for the people in the place. A very badly stocked bar. Just disappointing.
The entire staff was very pleasant however the food lacked flavor and was overpriced
Great food and great service! Enjoyed the music....90s rnb.... my heart!!
I love this restaurant the food the ambiance. Great place for family. Love the Sunday brunch.
The food was delicious, but far overpriced. I sat for 15 minutes at the front, until I eventually sat myself, as no one greeted me, despite my reservation. After picking a seat for myself, I was greeted with some abrasiveness because of my decision to pick my own seat.
The manager of the restaurant stood out in the dining area, arms folded, and followed each of his employees around as they worked, which created an environment of distrust - us patrons can see that.
My alcoholic drink had little to no alchohol in it, and I'm not a drinker, but I could taste that the drinks were highly watered down and I want getting what I paid for.
The only good thing that came from this "lounge", is that the food tasted fine. I would never go back, as it takes more than good food and expensive prices to prove that a restaurant is worthwhile - it's about the experience as a whole.
My party of 14 had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We made reservations on January 1st for 3:30 PM a party of 14. I see it say open table but we got there at 2 PM and waited 2 hours to be seated because the manager didn't reserve a spot for 14 people. Unfortunately, we got there during the one hour & half unlimited Mojito drinks only $20. We waited 2 hours for two people to later to be asked to please relocate theirs seats so my party of 14 can sit and manager would accommodate them a drink or whatever to move! One of my worst experiences at a Restaurant on my BIRTHDAY! If it was any other day in the year I would have took my party of 14 elsewhere......
I'll just start off by saying that we came on Sunday in the very early evening. It was busy, but not packed. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. But then we sat there for 25 minutes without one person approaching us to welcome us, bring us water, or take our drink orders.
Finally when our waiter came over, he acted confused and half sorry that "no one had noticed us". It didn't seem genuine. We got our drinks fairly quickly after that. We witnessed a table next to us getting water and greeted within a minute of sitting down.
The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of the food. It was really good. The best greens I've ever had. And I've had a LOT of them. Won't be back probably but it's a decent enough place.
I always have a great time when I venture out to Harlem. Chocolat is my top go to spot for great food and an energetic atmosphere. I usually make reservations for Sunday brunch, and the hostess is always accommodating even when it's crowded and we may show up a little late. The wait staff does a great job and you can expect a lot of people in the restaurant so please be patient with the wait staff. Mimosas are great and the food is delicious. Looking forward to my next visit to Chocolat!!
I’m a recurring customer, and I was quite underwhelmed with both the food and drinks. The service at the front of the house and our waiter was pleasant. This restaurant has a nice ambiance. Sad to say, but I’m not rushing back anytime soon.
