Chiringuito at Vidanta Riviera Maya
Ate on the patio, with the ocean in the back ground. Our Server was knowledgeable and very attentive, He was there when we needed him and let us enjoy our evening in peace. Best Sangria I have ever had!
Flamenco dancer and Spanish music on M W F a special treat
Atmosphere is lovely and food is good although paella is more rice than shellfish. Noise level is pretty high on music nights because musician and dancer are on a wooden floor and the type of dancing. Wonderful performance so just a note if preparation.
Beautiful outdoor setting with view of ocean waves. We were there early, but they accommodated us outside. Isrreal (yes two r’s) was great taking care of us! Had a nice bottle of Tempranillo, and a glass of rich Malbec for dessert. Food was very good, portions plentiful. Had a fish dish that hit the spot! Will be back again this week!
Good food, but don’t go with less than four people as the portions for tapas as paella are huge (like one large head of broccoli). The flamenco was awesome.
Food, service and musical entertainment were excellent.
Service was friendly but slow. Live spanish guitar was beautiful but so loud we could not hear each other speak, and we were seated on the far end of the restaurant where we could not see the flamenco dancer at all, which was a shame. The food was very good though.
Excellent meal but it would have been nice to know how HUGE the paella was. We each ordered our own and it was so big. Other tables were warned somehow we were not. And we couldn’t take back to our room since we did not have a microwave. Lesson learned. Everything else was terrific!
The restaurant had no water when we arrived and took 15 minutes to get some. We then ordered wine which was just fine and the drinks were good. The steak served cold was not a good sign and when they returned it they had heated it in a microwave. The meat was tough and grey in Color. Pathetic. The Seafood paella had little seafood and was highly over salted making it a serious disappointment especially considering past years experiences. The music was so loud it was difficult for us to visit with our friends. Overall we will not return to Chiringuito again with all the other great restaurants offering better food, better ambience, and music suited to allowing visiting with friends. Try Tramonto, try Gong, try Quinto, try anyplace else.
The food outstanding.
Large menu with a good variety.
Experience was upscale but relaxed.
Salads was incredibly fresh and new take on traditional.
Seafood dishes cooked to perfection but not over cooked.
Only downfall was cutlery was of very poor quality.
Very thin metal, bendable and cheap.
They bragged about the pork chop. It was just alright. Patella marinara was ok. Pricey for the quality. Better off at Gong or Tramonto.
Wonderful food and fun flamenco dancing! Excellent paella and tapas.
Flamenco dancing and Spanish guitar show was great. Rib eye for two was cooked to perfection.
We were out on the deck on a breezy night. It was pretty quiet compared to the rest of the resort which is bombarded by music with a pounding beat all day and into the night. The food was good - not 5-star - but beautifully presented. The service was top notch. You have a view of the Atlantic Ocean and you are up quite high, eye to eye with the pelicans floating by. It’s quite charming.
Beautiful place, great food and great service! Plus the added bonus of Flamenco dancing and music
We ordered the appetizer soft shell crab which were breaded differently this year. Didn't enjoy them as much and the portion was too large. Did not order main course as we were full. One person ordered the octopus and said it was excellent.
Excellent in every way!
Excellent recommendations by our waiter for appetizers to share followed by wonderful paella. They noted our shared birthday celebration as requested in the reservation.
Top grade in every way. Paella was superb. ISRRAEL was a great waiter for us.
The meals were slow to the table. My wife's first choice was not available and the first appetizer we ordered would take over 45 minutes to prepare (we ordered something different). The paella was acceptable. The next day both my wife and I did not feel well after eating in the restaurant.
The food is nothing special, tends to be very salty. However, the Flamenco show was fantastic! We have seen these excellent performers on previous stays here and they continue to impress me. The classical guitarist + Flamenco dancer are equal or better than the best in Spain. They are a real plus for Chiringuito, even though the food could be better.
Value for your money
The restaurant was not opened that night. They were closed for a private party. You wasted out night. After arriving at the restaurant we then had to search for another one. Your service was of not help. from now on I will call the restaurants directly and then I know if they are open
Food and service were amazing. Was a bit expensive but was delicious. Would recommend to anyone who asked me about it!!!!!!
Overall the food was very bland and uninteresting. The service was slow and inattentive.
Amazing service, shrimp appetizer not satisfactory and was replaced with another item so that was very appreciated. All in all I would recommend.
The service and ambiance was great! The price for quantity and quality of food for dinner was not so good! Probably would suggest lunch!
The flamenco show during the meal is fantastic. The food is good.
Excellent service and food. Too bad they are closing down until later in Nov for seasonal reasons. Get the large table at the back corner for 6+.
Pork chops And paella were amazing. Wish they stayed open later.
The food was delicious great view and service live music and flamenco dancer
Seafood paella was very disappointing. Clams and mussels were not good. Shrimp was dry and the rice was to wet. Last year it was excellent. Nobody was around to ask how the food was. A different waiter drop our bill off and walked away. We signed it and left!
Muy buena atención, actitud excelente de los meseros, gerente y chef
We had the fried Calamari but they were mostly the tentacles which I do not like & wouldn’t have ordered had I known. We ordered the Valencia style paella for 2 & unfortunately it didn’t have a lot of flavor. There are many other restaurants here at Vidanta that we will frequent but this won’t be one of them.
I love this place. It was my 3rd visit to Vidanta and the first thing I did was get a reservation for a night when they had a flamenco dancer. It was the same dancer as when I was here last year and she's phenomenal and so is her guitar player. And if you go, the paella is a must.
My wife and daughters all had to leave half way through our meal because they were getting eaten alive by some unseen insects. They each got about 15 bites. Not sure if it was flies, mosquitoes or noseeums - but they need to do some treatments for pests.
Service was slow , brought most expensive water on the menu , spilled hot soup on my daughter, did not bus table— we sat their with piled up dirty dishes.
Excellent food, service and live entertainment. Paella was very authentic and the flamenco music and dancer were great. Definitely recommend this as a restaurant to try while at the resort.
Amazing seafood paella and tapas! They had a special sangria when we went too that was so flavorful.
Not our best experience on the resort property.
A tucked away restaurant but worth it!!! The food was excellent!!! We had some tapas appetizers and the paella. Wait staff was great too.
