We can seat up to 110 in our main private dining room and a total restaurant buyout we can seat up to 300. We can handle up to 150 standing room in the private dining room and 450 standing in total restaurant buy out.
View Private Dining DetailsA lovely dinner with friends in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. This restaurant is really lovely, with great decor and art for sale on the walls. Food was very good, and the service was outstanding! We sat in the bar because the main part of the restaurant was full, but it actually was better for conversation because the bar area was quieter. Would recommend this restaurant anytime! Lots of smaller areas and rooms for groups and parties.
We have been dining at the Chinook Tavern for decades, starting with the old Cherry Creek location. The beauty of this restaurant is the classically trained German chef/owner, and his imaginative menu's. The entree's are different, original and authentic. It is not the usual chicken, steak, fish menu, as it changes, and the nightly specials really are "specials". The restaurant has a casual sophistication that sets it apart from the other upscale restaurants in the "burbs". If your looking for a different, elegant continental dining experience, this is it. And of course, Ali is the best waiter ever!
Nice atmosphere— like that we were not rushed.
Great happy hour and dinner!!
This was our third visit to Chinook Tavern. The first time, we had a meticulous waiter who provided impeccable service. The food was excellent as well. The second time, we went to the fondue room. The service was a little slower, but still good overall, and the food was wonderful. The third time, we were disappointed.
We had a waitress who seemed to be new to the restaurant, not a good listener, and inexperienced at serving. Although we'd said we wanted to order wine with dinner, she never came back to ask what we had selected, even after our initial cocktails were long gone. By the time we ordered wine, the food had already arrived. After more time passed, we were told they didn't have the wine we wanted. Seeming almost annoyed at our order, the wine steward suggested a red blend instead, which we agreed to.
After we finished dinner, the waitress brought our check, without having asked if we wanted dessert (we were planning to ask for a dessert menu). We decided to leave well enough alone.
We were disappointed to see we were charged more for the substitute red blend than the Amarone would have cost. We will likely not be back for awhile, but we will try again in the future.
As an event planner/programs manager for an association management firm, I bring groups to Denver about 8 times a year. Selecting good restaurants for my groups, whether I am joining them or not, is a point of pride for me. While I was not able to attend this particular dinner, a very easy to please trusted colleague accompanied the group I sent to dine at your restaurant I was disappointed to hear from this trusted colleague that the service they received while dining at The Chinook Tavern was quite unsatisfactory. In my experience within the restaurant industry, if poor, unfriendly, rude service is the norm at an establishment then the behavior modeled by the restaurant owner or management staff is often the cause. I believe that it may be in the best interest of this restaurant to consider the importance of quality, friendly service. It is important for restaurateurs to remember that Denver is a foodie paradise, and second chances are rare. In a place with so very many other wonderful dining options it is never necessary to visit any restaurant more than once if the experience is unpleasant.
A bit slow on original seating about 10 or so minutes before sever came to the table? Food was very good and had an enjoyable Easter brunch. Very nice wine selection even thought they are not bashful on their pricing. Tried to locate the Easter menu on the web site and could only get a menu from 2015? Need to pay attention to details on the web as a lot of us use it to preselect menu items prior to arriving at the restaurant Restaurant was very clean and quiet which provided a good atmosphere. Will definitely return to try some of their specialty items at lunch.
The Special Esther menu was overpriced for mediocre food. The entree was less than lukewarm and when we sent it back to be warmed up, we waited for 10 minutes. The waiter returned our slightly eaten portions but had no idea whose plate belonged to which diner. We had to ask for salt and pepper, basic cutlery. When I told waitress I did not want a second drink she swept away my drink glass before I had finished. There was only another swallow but she did not bother to ask if I was finished before she took it away. I was still in the middle of my meal so nothing needed to be taken away at that point.
We will not return to this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone.
Chinook is consistently good. Wait staff is friendly and efficient, and the food is great.
Great food, wanted to go somewhere where there was authentic European food. Very chic spot. We ended up going on a weekday early afternoon....lots of business people there but still there was quiet ambience for that time frame.
Food and service was good
Everything was prepared perfectly
The food was amazing. Everyone loved everything they ordered. It’s a little pricey but that’s to be expected. The only downside was our waiter. He seemed uninterested. We had to prompt him to allow us to order appetizers, he never checked on us, and just seemed to hate his job. He wasn’t rude, he just was inattentive and in friendly. If we’d had another waiter it would have been 5 stars.
Food is always very good. Wait staff seemed a little stretched and were a little slow at first but did a nice job once we ordered drinks,
We enjoyed our dining experience. Excellent service, good menu choices. We had the Raclette and Fondue courses and were happy with the overall experience. As world travelers with lots of exposure to great restaurants, especially throughout Europe, we were somewhat disappointed in the value based primarily on pricing. Raclette and Fondue are not expensive courses to prepare and serve, and the Chinook seemed well overpriced when compared to what we've seen in comparably restaurants in Europe.
The food is delicious - always a great crowd at lunch. Service needs a bit of attention.
I spent valentine’s day dinner here with my girlfriend. We ordered the fried brie cheese (definitely recommend) for our appetizer and ravioli and seafood bouillabaisse for our entres. Our server was friendly, the taste was good, and ambiance of the restaurant was excellent. The prices ($26 for ravioli and $37 for bouillabaisse) are far too high for the quantity and quality of food provided.
Over priced. Decorating was strange
Food portions very small for price. Nothing special
Will not be back.
Our server wasn’t very attentive at all. For $100+ I would expect much higher quality service, especially on Valentine’s Day.
Food was pretty good, though a bit bland.
If you don’t offer salt and pepper on the table you need to “nail it.”
Outstanding food and service on a very busy night (2/14). In spite of the crowd, the dining areas are laid out so that it is never too loud to carry on a conversation. Certainly will visit again!
First of all, the entire menu was padded money-wise for Valentines Day. So a serving of ravioli was $22 and you received 5 pieces of pasta with no meat Secondly, the menu was super limited and didn’t include the items from the usual weekly plates so even though we looked at the menu hours before the reservation- it was totally different! Annoying! Service was lame - our waiter maybe spent 2 minutes total with us. DON’T waste your $ or time with this SAD place!!! Order out for PIZZA!!!!!
I already wrote a personal note to the restaurant how disappointed I was with the whole dinner experience at Chinook tonight. I’ve known this restaurant since the late 90’ (it used to be located in North Cherry Creek) and I had always had a pleasant experience with it but tonight was an exception. Our server just made me very uncomfortable and I almost left the restaurant only 5 min into our dining there. I am not calling him rude but I did not feel welcomed at all because of the way he treated me. I could tell that he just didn’t like me as a person. I felt like I was being judged because of the way I looked. It was supposed to be a nice/sweet Valentine’s day with the love of my life but our dinner was completely ruined by him. However, the dishes we ordered were all good and delicious so there is at least one good thing to compliment about the restaurant. For this whole experience, I’ll give it 2.5 stars. Nonetheless, I won’t probably go back there in a while.
Have eaten here many times. My only complaint was slow service. But it was faster service on our last visit. Food as always outstanding.
Have been going to Chinook since they were in Cherry Creek, Food and service is always good. While the Tech location is a lot further it is still worth the drive.
Chinook has excellent and creative food selection. Also, it is quiet enough that couples can enjoy some conversation with dinner in an unhurried and peaceful atmosphere. The menu features excellent and creative fish dishes, meat dishes and some Italian and German cuisine that is worth the time and effort to get to the place. Prices are just fine in today's restaurant market and the qualify of the fare is really great.
Always good service and good food. Best French Onion soup I’ve ever had!
Everything was great! Love the food and atmosphere.
Our service was so bad that it ruined our entire evening. Our server was rude and would disappear for significant periods of time. Bummer because we had chosen Chinook as the gathering place for our group of friends! Won't go back!
Pricey! The value was tough to find. Dinner for two with a $40 bottle of wine was $143 with tip.
Seems a bit much for what we got. I won't be going back.
We enjoyed our dinner at Chinook Tavern. The menu was full of interesting choices - very few places have much in the way of German food. The salad, soup, and entrees were outstanding, and the service was first rate. We will go back.
Austrian food, lots of Veal, with some pizzas and salads thrown in .....not bad, not great.
I was shocked at the prices. I have gone there ever since they were in Cherry Creek. The prices were a little over the top
Great food, Great service in a fun atmosphere
I have never been disappointed with a meal or the service at Chinook.
Great food, great location, great facility, great staff (as always)!
Great Rest. local neighborhood, Little pricey, but excellent menu and wonderful european
dishes. Bright and cheery atmosphere. Service was attentive, personable, and prompt. Not
our first visit, definitely not our last.
My "jager schnitzel" was great with perfectly cooked/seasoned veggie (carrot & zucchini). Friend ordered the beet salad and loved it.
If you haven't been here, it's a must. It's one of the best designed restaurants, especially during the holidays!
It was amazing i will definitely return :)
Maybe it was because it was Christmas but service and overall satisfaction has been lower the last few times. Service was very slow, food had been sitting a few minutes before it was brought to the table. You could tell this from the layer on the soup and all entrees were not brought at the same time. Beautiful restaurant and some wonderful dishes but their attention to detail has not been there on our last few visits. Worth trying but be prepared as may not be the best experience given the cost.
Poor service for a Christmas dinner. Food was good, prices fair.
We have eaten here several times. We always enjoy the meal and atmosphere and it is a great restaurant for Christmas
