Chinook Tavern - Denver Tech Center Ratings and Reviews
the bartender was vary annoyed with us asking about speciality drinks not on the menu. He statement was something like, I’m a bartender, I-don’t have any ideas. When we got to our table our server was very absent. after appetizers we ordered of the menu only to find out the filet and salmon were not available, why was this information not shared with us before we we ordered...
Went here for a Birthday Celebration with Family. The crowd was mostly business professionals, and I think we were the only people with a child, but that is ok. Nice waitstaff and the food was really yummy, but expensive for what you get. We would eat here again...definitely yummy!
Went here for a nice lunch with friends. We split appetizers, soup, entree, and dessert. Everything was yummy. We started with the shrimp cakes which are small and (for me) over fried. I'd prefer less breading and more of a sauteed shrimp cake, but that's just me. French Onion soup was delicious. It was a good amount of soup with all the essential French Onion goodness. We enjoyed the Salmon entree which was cooked to perfection. Finishing off with the Creme Brulee, which I highly recommend!
For my birthday, I took my teenage kids and girlfriend for dinner. Christopher was there with open arms as usual greeting us and making us feel at home. The food was fabulous. The German hot pretzel is a must every time! Great choice of Paulaner brews. It's a real German restaurant with great ambiance, a great staff, phenomenal food an a management that cares about their customers. I love this place!!
Excellent experience as always. Amazing food served in a classy environment. When you are tired of the steakhouse this is the place to go. The veal dishes are delicious as well as the onion soup. If smoked prime rib is on the menu, get it. It is really good. Extensive beer collection as well.
This was my first time at Chinook Tavern. We went before the One Republic show at Fiddlers. I had one of my favorites Weinershnitzel and my wife had Jeagershnitzel. Both were outstanding. The Paulanar beer was good as well. We had apple strudel for desert and although it was small, it was tasty. Overall, great experience...
Unacceptable service - worst dining experience, maybe ever. Waiter knocked over a full beer / broke the glass. Soaked everything. He sent someone over who begrudgingly started wiping. When his rags were soaked he walked away and didn't return. Table was still soaked. Waiter replaced the beer but didn't offer any help. 20 minutes we tried to get someone to help. Nothing. Finally, the bus person threw a towel at me. Seriously. We paid and the waiter came running after us because they couldn't find the signed receipts - someone who works there had taken them but they acted like we skipped out. We didn't. Will not go back. Ever.
we have had better meals there - did not realize the Dierks Bentley concert was at Fiddler's Green or we would have gone elsewhere - our son & daughter-in-law visiting from D.C. and she loves art so thought it would be a good place to visit, and a sophisticated venue from someone from D.C. where there are many wonderful restaurants. We were greeted COLDLY at reception, both the owner and a young lady were standing there and neither gave us a smile, they were very negative. Altho our reservation for 6:00 was honored, we had requested, through you, a booth and there were two empty but we were told we could not have one because they were reserved for "someone else" - I am beginning to think those booths are lined in gold as they are stingy with them. She said if they had a cancellation they would move us into a booth, however the booths sat empty for our entire meal which is off-putting for someone who requested one! It was very noisy, however the crowd disbursed by 7:00 and it was relatively peaceful after that. However, I must say RECEPTION is your first greeting to a restaurant and it should be a friendly, cheerful smile and a feeling of welcome. Well, I guess we all have bad days. In addition - I inquired about sitting outside...she said "first come, first served." I don't know what that means...the waiters don't go out there? Not helpful, which reflects the whole evening. 'nuff said.
The Chinook Restaurant in Greenwood Village is an impressive and clean restaurant with lots of beautiful and creative artwork. The bar area is welcoming, the staff is extremely friendly and the food is exceptional. The overall ambiance made my dining experience incredibly enjoyable, and I will definitely be back! Simply wonderful!
I was also at Chinook last week during their happy hour. Although it was very crowded, the drinks and food came very fast. The servers were always friendly.
Worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Arrived for my girlfriends birthday dinner and chose the restaurant for items I saw on their menu online that I knew she would love. However when we made a reservation we were not told they were on a special concert only menu. The host at least could have mentioned that before she sat us at our table, I understand why restaurants do this because I work in a restaurant for the past ten years and our host always inform our guest if there is any change to the menu. The server was the worst I have ever come across just absolutely rude whenever we had a question on the preset menu we were not ready for. I have a real gluten allergy and when I asked what we could have he answered rudely well I can only do the halibut. It's not that they were out it is how this employee answered or concerns. Will never go back and I will be telling all my patrons that visit my restaurant on a regular basis about the experience we had because it was honestly the worst I have ever come across.
A horrible experience. We arrived for our 5:30 reservation so we could get to a show starting at 7:00 . Our waiter was harried and barely paid any attention to us. Staff was nonexistent. Our appetizer came in a paper dish like a hot dog would come in from a street vendor. Drinks were not refilled. The food took forever to arrive. Not one apology or even any recognition that the service was terrible and the food was delayed. Our meals arrived cold but on scalding hot plates. At 8:00pm we finally asked for the check and five minutes later our waiter reappeared to ask if we were ready for the bill. There was no discount or credit on the bill and, again, no recognition of the 2.5 hour meal. When we asked our waiter for some sort of acknowledgement he said, "My manager is over there. Go talk to him" and winked at us. Late for the show, we just paid the bill and left. Throughout the meal, we noticed other tables having the same experience. I will never go back to this restaurant and warn everyone else against paying the high-ticket prices for an offensively bad experience.
For being the closest restaurant to the amphitheater and having a "concert menu" you would think they would have their stuff together. 35 minutes for drinks, 50 minutes for appetizers (our entrees actually came out a minute or two before our apps). Server was apologetic putting blame on the concert (which we were going to and late for). Given there are shows at Fiddlers every weekend in the summer you would think they had this down to a science. We would have easily spent twice as much on drinks if it didn't take so long to get them. Also, bar menu is different from dining - but same kitchen. They won't let you mix orders. Reluctantly will go back simply because of location - and food was good. But will add 30-40 extra minutes and get drinks at the bar before sitting.
Our food was exquisite. The reason for the 4 rating is that there is so little flexibility for a gluten free diet. I would be thrilled if Chinook could better accommodate, especially with sauces and a pizza crust. This is why we go less often this we would like.
Chinook Tavern is fantastic. We went prior to a concert at Fiddlers Green. It's a great environment, plenty of options on the menu, and a top notch team that also made our kids feel welcome. Everything we ordered was very well prepared from the filet to the fish. The chicken piccata was very flavorful. The desserts and cocktails were also very good. Parking was easy. We will definitely be going back soon and often. Somebody had told me Chinook was a German place that served schnitzel so we were very surprised to see the various menu options, which included schnitzel but also the options above as well as pasta and salads. I strongly recommend Chinook Tavern. By the way, I forgot my concert tickets and the manager was very willing to help out. So - great people as well as great food.
Food was good, wine and beer was good but the service was TERRIBLE. Waiter was dismissive and borderline rude. Felt like we were a bother to him by just being there. He literally tried to take my plate away from me AFTER MY FORK WAS IN IT and said it was for someone else and was going to serve it to them. I told him no that I would like to keep it. Asked about a different menu that was shown online. Waiter said it wasn't available but 20 min later the table behind us was sat and they ordered something off the menu that I had asked about. Will never go back and definitely do not recommend.
We arrived promptly for our 6:00 reservation and were seated on time. Waiter brought us their "special concert menu" featuring items that don't take much time to prepare so that we'd be able to get to our Fiddler's Green concert on time. HA! It took them ONE HOUR to just bring us the bread basket! At 7:05, we asked them to cancel our appetizers as we could tell there'd not be time to eat them and then have our dinners as well. Our waiter was very nice, friendly, professional and it wasn't his fault that our food took SO LONG to come out. The kitchen is either too small, slow or terribly understaffed to accommodate the pre-concert crowd. They were out of many of the few wines-by-the-glass they offered on the menu. Coincidentally (?) the ones they didn't have were the less expensive offerings.
Overall, not a good idea on a concert night. Slowest service I've ever experienced with no offer to make it up in any way.
We had dinner before a concert at Fiddler's Green Ampitheater. This is the PERFECT place to dine prior to a concert since it is just across the street and the food is great! The restaurant provides a pre-concert menu that is very good. I would, however, suggest sitting in the bar rather than the dining room. There are more options on the bar menu and the price is a little less spendy than the dining room menu. Other than that, it was a great way to start an evening.
This venue worked very well for a business lunch. The staff didn't waste any time, taking our order and checking in at appropriate times without being intrusive during our discussions. Really appreciated the professional service and the food was outstanding!
I had no idea that they only offer a very limited menu the nights there are concerts st Fidler's Green. Their wine selection was horrible (they limited their wine offerings too) and most of the food choices were very unhealthy deep fried items. For a place that usually has higher-end products, we made our reservation under this pretense and were very disappointed.
We went before a concert at Fiddlers Green and rode the light rail. It is right up the stairs or ramp from the station. Beautiful restaurant. We choose to sit in bar. Got very crowded as concert time approached but this was well handled. Our server, Natasha, was extraordinary, helpful and prompt. Delightful personality. Food is very good, we all shared around table and tasted each others. On the expensive side but a nice treat. Very easy walk to venue. Passed on way back but closed. Would have stopped for a post concert drink!
