While the creativity of the food was nice the overall experience was less so. Although not explicitly said on the website or menu, the happy hour deals are only for the bar/lounge area, so when we arrived expecting to take advantage of the deals we were told we'd have to go to the bar to get them. I then proceeded to the bar to get a happy hour drink and bring it back to my table, and was told that was also not allowed, even though I was only told I had to go to the bar to get the deal, not that I had to stay at the bar. In addition, one of my friend's glass had lipstick still around the rim, and a chip in the glass which cut her hand. When we alerted the server to this and asked for a bandage, it took nearly 10 minutes to get a bandage, meanwhile the server brought a new glass within 5 minutes. Overall, while the food was interesting, the inclusion of somewhat arbitrary dining rules and the poor service mean I probably will not recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Loveed it. It was amazing! Cant wait to go back THERE!
The sushi sampler and seafood paella were great. Service was good but not as attentive as we would expect. It probably didn’t help that our server had tables spread across the room.
Extremely poor service; waitress ignores smaller parties
It was my first time here and I was celebrating my birthday with friends and family. I really enjoyed the food and drinks. We had a bad table seated next to the kitchen, which made high traffic volumes and very noisy with plates and glasses. Our waitress was nice but not very attentive, we had to ask for silverware, warm towels to wipe our hands and our food items. Some guests were waiting until the end of our dinner to receive their menu items and my cousin received cold coffee. I would definitely come back, but I would be sure to maintain my reservation and not be seated at the kitchen.
I was very impressed with the waiters knowledge of the menu and the quality of the food which we received promptly.
Food was Great as Always....had also had an awesome server! We will back soon
Wanted to like it. Had 6 different plates for our table. Everything lacked flavor, even the spicy items. Very loud with so eventually all you heard was the bass from the music. Server was busy but seemed like we were always trying to get his attention.
This was the first time in a long time. Every time we visit here we can’t seem to read the menu, it would be nice to have just a tad more lighting. This time we were in the bar area. Food was great, server was awesome, drinks were potent, booth was unfortunately a bit uncomfortable for me at least. Overall a great experience and will definitely be returning!!!
The food is the biggest attraction. There is a wonderful selection of interesting equatorial foods and options for dishes to share or not to share. The ambiance is fun and energetic, although having a conversation was difficult at times.
Chino Latino always great! We had a great server who made sure we had everything we needed. Food was great! Drink are always so good.
Our group enjoyed the Brazilian and Filipino dishes with the variety of seafood.
The empanadas were also flavorful and delicious. We enjoyed the garnishes on the
plates and beverages, especially the orchids! The location was definitely "big city"
to us out-of-towners, and we enjoyed the seating near the big glass windows. A
really festive night out!
Wonderful, drink food and company!
We had a reservation, but my friend was told that we could be seated before shortly way before our reserved time... it did not happen and our we were seated later longer after our reserved time.
There are not too many options for a gluten free child. His pasta was spicy!
Overall the experience was good, the highlight being the drinks and the low part being the service. We probably waited at least fifteen minutes for our drink order to be taken and then another twenty-thirty minutes for our drinks to make it to the table. Then another ten-twenty minutes for our food order to be taken. Luckily, our food came out fast. The food varied in taste from good to just okay, nothing too spectacular.
We celebrated out nephew’s 28th birthday here. The restaurant DEFINITELY appeals to his generation, especially given its location in Uptown. The food was very good, and they had ample vegetarian options, which I appreciated. It was a wee bit loud for us of the hearing aid wearing generation. A HUGE shout out to our server, Jordan. He was fast, personable and even brought a new sparkler for our nephew’s birthday drink when I didn’t get my camera out quickly enough to video it the first time!
Its a tad loud but i always have a good time there!
We had a variety of the small plate shares and everything was very good. The sushi and the salad (with steak) were our favorites. We also really enjoyed our server (whose name I now cannot remember) and overall service was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Our experience at Chino Latino was made wonderful by our great waiter. I went there for our 13-year-old‘s birthday party she very much enjoyed the pineapple with the fireworks and the orange chicken was a great pic for the kids as well. I’m sure I will be back for the 14th birthday since we’ve been going there ever since she was 11. What made this experience the best was definitely The server.
The place is great for birthdays and special occasions. I love the food and the portions are big.
The host at the door gave us incorrect information and was not friendly. The fooos was very good. The service at the table was slow. They added a tip onto our bill of 20peecent of the total amount including the tax. The service did not warrant that but we had no choice.
It was a very awesome night!
Our waitress had a very cleavage bearing crop top. Aside from the fact that Servers or bussers had both knocked over and broke glasses of water from our table, the waitress was rude when my sister in law asked for the MUSHROOM QUESADILLA SHE ORIGINALLY ORDERED. Our waitress later admitted to the boyfriend OF MY SIL, she forgot to put it in the system. I doubt we will come back for anything but a beverage.
Jordan b is hands down who you want to serve you!!! Everything was perfect for Valentine’s days
The overall experience was good. It was very busy the evening of our dinner. The server was excellent and energetic.
I would ask the hostess which type of table you will be seated before you leave the hostess stand. We were placed at a community table next to the kitchen. We walked by several open private tables on our way to the table.
I prefer to eat in a more private environment and would ask in the future. I did mention it to our server but she laughed and asked for our drink order.
I would go back again as I have been several times in the past. The food is always delicious and creative.
Food was great, drinks outrageously priced for how little alcohol the watered down drink i received was.
Awesome server! Kind, informative and timely. Large portions! Great food!
Our Service and drinks were great, the food just OK, most of the food was cold.
Excellent food, the best customer service
The food was really good. However, they were not equipped to handle a Valentine’s Day crowd. The food came out of order and not timed correctly. They added tables so it was like a cafeteria. They should have just done business as usual.
Delicious food! Great sushi and a varied cuisine in a hip, trendy spot. I took a gathering of colleagues here for dinner on a Monday night, and it wasn't too busy considering the night... food was pricey, but since a business meal, quite worth it. Happy drinks are $5 -$7 though, so if it were my own tab, I'd come for happy hour!
Our server was excellent. Kept checking on us at just the right amount. The food was really very good. Ended up sharing a large item that had just the right amount of flavor and spice. Really only downside was having really small tortillas so you couldn't put much in them.
Saturday night and packed beyond belief. So loud we could not hear each other speak across the table from one another. Our booth was supposedly designed to seat 6 (3 on each side) but it was so tight you had to keep your elbows tucked in tight to your ribs while eating. Terribly uncomfortable. The booth was in the basement - concrete floors, walls and ceiling. Felt like we were in a Guantanamo underground prison with soft lighting. Waiter was nice. food was decent, but atmosphere? Who thinks this is an enjoyable experience beyond throngs of high schoolers out for dinner before a dance. Saw about 4 or 5 of those groups and they were literally yelling at one another over the din of restaurant. Awfulllll!
They were able to get tables for me together after a mix up with open table. The server was nice but it took about 35 min to fetch a drink. And the food wasn’t that great.
Very loud and crowded place. Food was below average and service could be better. Way too pricey for the quality of service and food. Would not recommend or go back.
The seating wasn’t ideal for 6 in a booth even with reservations. The food was good but different than we anticipated. We appreciated getting to dry different entrees.
We went to Chinos for my birthday. They made a special menu with my name, our waitress was amazing and put me first and made sure everything was perfect and was overly attentive even with numerous other parties. Every drink/food items I got came out with sparklers and I loved it! Chinos really knocked it out of the park on making it a great bday
Had fun. We had the $35 appetizer combo. While good we felt it was very light on the meat & seafood and too heavy on fruit and vegetables. Tacos were tasty. We’ll be back.
Not sure why the wait staff has to wear vulgar T-shirts. We didn't find them especially amusing or clever -- it just detracted from our family dinner.
