Good expensive food.
Food was very good. Prices steep. $12 for tea- really??
Oh my - the Beijing duck is amazing. This is the second time we have had it at China Tang (FYI, you need to reserve it ahead of time). The quality of the table side service and the food was outstanding. The chef was an impressive machine as he carved the duck and Drew was fantastic guiding us thru the dinner and is very pleasant, professional person - an asset to the restaurant. We'll be back!
Great food and wait staff
One of the worst Chinese food places!
Way overpriced. A tiny quantity of food.
Don’t try it!
Panda Express is three times better, with 10% the cost.
I was born and raised in China. I know what is good Chinese food.
This is not!
This place is trying to starve people to death!
I spent $100 plus and was very hungry after left this place.
Very limited gluten free, small portions, taste was average nothing special
Seated in dining area right on edge of public walkway. Music from restaurant and music from public walkway area bled together, not a great experience in that regard
Was a pleasant surprise. The tasting menu was the perfect choice allowing us to sample the menu. The service was spot on and the food delicious. We sat in the open area so there was a lot of traffic increasing the noise volume as there was a concert that night, but not overwhelming and you were able to easily converse. The dumplings, wonton soup was amazing.
Bbq has an exceptional taste, but a little too much fat. The won ton soup seemed very salty. The scallion and ginger lobster was absolutely exceptional, along with the short ribs. Overall very good, but just stay with the main courses.
Pretty restaurant but rather noisy. They sat us exactly at our reservation time. Chairs are big and comfy but as you sink into them you get further and further away from the table. Found myself sitting on edge of chair to talk across the table or eat which was not so comfy. We ordered Lettuce wraps (which were very good) as an appetizer as soon as we sat down and later ordered the balance of our meal and yet soup came out before lettuce wraps which we found odd and frustrating. Then they brought the vegetable and rice dishes while we were still trying to eat the lettuce wraps but meat dish did not get served until 10-12 minutes later. Needless to say, vegetables and rice were cold by the time we got to eat them. All of the food was good and portions are enough for 3-4 people per dish. Be very specific about order in wish you want items served and when. We will go back and try again knowing what we know now.
I had arrived at 7:30 for a 7:45pm reservation when the hostess kindly asked me to return at 7:45pm due to my table not bing fully set and as soon as we came back she recognized us immediately and escorted us to the table. The server might have been back up because it took a while be fore we were greeted by Jessica and served water. Jessica was very kind and thoughtful, once I pointed out I couldn’t find the cocktail menu she realized that the menu I had had missing pages and she quickly grabbed me a new menu. To grab our food order and drink order took longer than expected and for our dinner to come out as well. We ended up being about 10-15 min late for our KA show at 9:30pm but besides the slow service Jessica was a very great serve , the hostess was very kind and the food was delicious I would give them another shot on hopefully a slower night.
Delicious as always!!!
Best gourmet authentic Chinese in Las Vegas! Very professional and courteous service! OUTSTANDING!
Outstanding food and service. Can't wait to go back.
Had a wonderful time at China Tang. Food was amazing with great favors. Service was very good. It is a little expensive.
Excellent food and Service!
I live locally and was going to attend a show at the grand garden arena after dinner. We arrived promptly at 5:30pm. We were seated immediately and gave the waiter our drink order and our main order including an appetizer. We waited 20 minutes for the drinks. Another 30 minutes later, (no appetizer but the main dish arrived. ($98 for a peking duck). We asked for the hostess. We told her of the no appetizer and wanted to make sure that it was not on the bill. We were then asked about the 2nd course of the duck dish but by this time we had to ask for the check to attend the show.
To make matters even more insulting, you are not allowed to bring any food into the arena, so we had to ask them to just throw out the 2nd course. This was either the waiter or the kitchen, but either way I was so upset. 1 1/2 hours for food service would have been plenty of time. I would not recommend this choice for dinner.
Excellent food and a great selection. Some of the seats are 'couch-like' so for me, a little uncomfortable, but bad enough to distract. The Hot & Sour soup was some of the best I've ever tasted & the sweet & sour chicken was very well done. The service was beyond reproach & the price was very reasonable.
Food was served lukewarm (at best)-and not the best meal. It's too bad- this is an extremely overpriced, sorry replacement for the Grand Wok.
The apps and drinks we’re delish but overall the food was overpriced for what we got. Service was slow but very professional.
We had a party of five and ordered several appetizers to share as well as our own entrees. The food was delicious. Assertive was attentive without being annoying. The only caveat was price. It is possible to choose more moderately priced food from the menu if you want to enjoy a less expensive and delicious meal though.
Can't comment on the food as we didn't stay. Took forever to get seated despite our reservation and the fact that the restaurant was almost empty. When we were seated, we were only given a wine list. Someone eventually came by with water, but we still had no menus. At that point we decided it was going to take too long and informed the waiter we were not staying.
One of the best meals I've had this year. The seabass special was particularly memorable. Jessica, our server suggested it and was spot on in her description and recommendation. Jessica was friendly and helpful, without being intrusive and seemed to know the menu, inside and out. I plan on returning.
The experience was bad, we ate a Peking duck, but they only serve 1/4 of the duck, as the Chinese waitress first speak bad English inform us we have to pay for the rest of the duck and at the end of the dinner, inform us that what are we planning to do with the rest of the duck, we asked why you donot cut and serve on the table as any other restaurant we had duck? He did not answer.
It was a mess
Delicious as always!!!
Was looking for Asian cuisine and found China Tang at the MGM Grand in Vegas. Food was overall pretty good and tasty. It was however overpriced. Dinner for two with Soup and Appetizer came to $180 including the tip.
Restaurant is open to resort and people walking by and slightly noisy. Would have preferred a more quite enclosed restaurant perhaps.
I am Chinese so I know what is authentic Chinese food. This is my second visit to this expensive and really not worth the price. The seabass hot pot was a disappointment. The fish is not fresh .The live crab is about $200 for a 3 lbs crab.I think is so overpriced compared to other Chinese restaurants on the strip.
I think this will not be my choice for great Chinese food.
We loved the tasty food, great service and the design of the restaurant. The artwork is very well selected and interesting. If you are looking for that sweet and sour sauce you had in UK, try it here.
We highly recommend this restaurant.
The best ever Cantonese food I ever had in last many years, and trust me, we are Asians ;)
We went to celebrate my dad and I’s birthday.
The food was super amazing and the service was outstanding! They have this special waygu beef from Japan that’s only available at the mgm.
Service was slow. Food was good but very pricey. Wine list was excellent.
We ordered the vegetable chowmane and it was very oily.
Took 15min to be greeted at table. First course arrived before drinks. Whole peking duck was the special that night and when our table of four did not order this special - the server questioned us - and seemed genuinely upset that we weren’t ordering the duck. Had to find staff to refill water. After finishing dinner - only then did server appear to ask us if we needed salt /pepper, more drinks or anything for our meal. Felt unattended to whole meal. Service was terrible. Sad we went to this restaurant at all as it was a special last night in vegas w friends.
Elegant! The server was attentive but not too attentive. Everyone was helpful and explained things well.
I love the chairs and tables ... the decorations are very tasteful and set the right mood!
The food was perfect and tasty. The portion sizes were ideal
The seafood tasting menu was interesting, delicious, and varied.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at China Tang. Our server Sam was absolutely fantastic. The food was simply amazing. The Hot and Sour Soup and the Pork Belly are must haves.
Food was perfect, excellent service would defiantly recommend and would go back!
Server Suzie was awesome! And having live entertainment was very nice without overwhelming the atmosphere.
Way over rated - certainly not a PF Changs! Food lacked flavor-bar has a very limited selection.
With all great dining options I would recommend you pass on this restaurant.
Outstanding food, service and wine pairing. Will become a Vegas regular place to eat.
Not the usual Chinese-American dishes. True authentic Chinese food that was top notch! Service was excellent and the overall experience was outstanding.
