Excellent menu, superb preparation and presentation. Good value for the quality.
Delicious food, beautiful presentation.
Recovering from a Pandamic Business model, this restaurant made for a great experience even while only being able to offer a limited menu.
The staff was attentive and responsive.
Very attentive and timely service, and the tasting menu was delicious. Definitely doing it again!
China Chileans makes the best pi’s of sours and the food is great too!
Excellent food, Excellent drinks, excellent experience
We love this place. It's a little quieter than Oyamel and Jaleo, which we also love. The menu is also more varied because it includes Peruvian, Chinese and Japanese dishes.
Very fun, delicious, non-fussy spot for a date or dinner out on the town. Don't miss the dessert or the Pisco Sour!
Great service and the food was delicious! The portions aren't huge, so you won't leave feeling overly stuffed. Will look forward to another visit!
A very creative menu and good wine list. We ordered tuna donburi and a Peruvian shrimp and mushroom entree, and shared an order of dim sum, plus the fabulous Peruvian custardy dessert. All were fabulous and more than enough for two people.
Sat outdoors, which is a pleasant enough space except when buses go by. Wait staff was terrific.
It was so good to be back at China Chilcano, one of our favorite restaurants in DC. The menu is a little shorter, which is understandable, but that caused us to try some new dishes that were amazing. The Causa California was so pretty that my husband took a picture, and so delicious, it was gone in a minute. The Tam Tam was great, nice and spicy, the Salmon Tiradito was fresh & delicious. Jiaozi de la Chacra was the perfect starter, cilantro dumplings, filled with squash, with a squash puree. Topping off the meal with the Concolon made it perfect. My wine & my husband's beer were quite good as well. We even picked up 2 new masks featuring the Nazka lines. The staff was all wearing them, and when we complemented them, we discovered that they were for sale! We ate indoors, and the tables were well spaced. They do have an outdoor space as well, if you would prefer.
The flavors in the various dishes are really lovely. We cannot eat garlic and were pleased by the effort made to ensure that we had a lovely dinner without any.
Wonderful staff illustrate a dazzling menu of Chinese, Japanese infused Peruvian food! Outstanding!
Best of peruvian food with an authentic oriental twist, don't miss the octopus carpaccio.
This was my first time being at China Chilcano since it re-opened. They have made modifications including adding plexiglass and distancing the tables and making a few design changes. All were attractive as well as practical. The food was delicious and the waiter was very good at describing the menu which is not you usual items. We had three items that were all delicious and many of the original items are included as well.
The service was fantastic! Check it out.
The food was very good. The yucca was delicious. Overall the presentation was better than the taste.
Delicious food, absolutely loved the salmon ceviche! The waiters were very helpful with finding the best dishes.
We ate outside. Food and drinks were perfect and service was great. Dessert was something I want to eat every day.
We had a great time at China Chilcano! Ángel and Carlos were so nice, attentive and knowledgeable. Alan was also amazing! The restaurant was so clean and the decoration was so impressive! Thank you for the amazing experience!
Very difficult to hear inside - but everything else is excellent!
Went to celebrate our daughter's college graduation. I didn't really understand the menu so we took the advice of the waiter to get the sampler. It was a good suggestion. They continued to bring out plenty of food for all 5 of us and we had plenty of leftovers. Food was prepared very well but not my favorite tastes being they were somewhat exotic for me. I felt at $55 per person it was a bit expensive / overly priced. But sitting at the sunken table (table was our choice - I had to crawl in and out) and eating things I've never had before provided a great experience and something we will remember. The staff and service were great.
Best restaurant in DC
So happy this place opened again! Always a go to for me.
Great food...great service! I'd recommend this restaurant to everyone. Dress was casual and the ambience was classy.
Glad to finally see China Chilcano come back! Understand you are starting with a more limited menu than before. We were very pleasantly surprised that your top notch quality did not change. The chaufa Aeropuerto was specially good! Cheers!
Great to have China Chilcano back open!!!!! Looking forward to the outdoor dining too!
Delicious. 5 of us shared too much food and got to taste a ton which was the best way to do it.
Pisco sours were awesome!
Our experience at China Chilcano was mixed. We ordered from the Dim Sum Tuesday menu, and several items were excellent (the veggie one in particular), while others were okay but nothing special (the tradicional and the chicken). We shared the two chocolate desserts on the menu and both were fabulous - definitely worth the calories. Service was rather slow and inattentive, even before the restaurant became busier.
Wow. The Lunch in an Hour special is off the charts. Don't forget to finish your meal with suspira limena - it's life changing.
Loved this restaurant! Our server was so helpful. All that she recommended was delicious.
My son came to D.C. from California for his sixtieth birthday, and being an enormous fan of Jose Andres I chose one of his restaurants. My daughter had also extolled the virtues of the Suspiro Limone dessert, and it certainly lived up to its star billing. The who family had a lovely night at China Chilcano.
Had the Cuban rice and it was a mix of really dry ingredients that did not work together. No flavor.
Had the tasting menu and, as usual, it was outstanding! Excellent food, service and ambience!
Great food and ambience!
This was our second dinner at China Chilcano and again it was wonderful. We started with a pitcher of the signature Chilcano cocktail which is quite tasty. Then our group of four shared several dishes including: blistered shishitos, ají de gallina, aeropuerto with chicken, and several others I can't remember. All were delicious and we will definitely be back next time we are in DC
Excellent and different food. A lovely and unique experience. Seviche was weakest - lacked acid, but was otherwise good. Lamb potstickers and duck noodles were fabulous. Good option for Shakespeare theater patrons!
We had a great time. The food was delicious and tasty we loved the variety and flavors. The service was on point and the servers etc were friendly and informative
Our server was great. He walked us thru the menu and checked on us multiple times to make sure we were satisfied. The food (a catfish bun and the aueroporto) and drinks (horchata and Peruvian Nariinal drink) was also good. The bun was tasty, but had too much onion for my liking. The aueroporto was also tasty with lots of veggies, but the overall flavor was a little too mild for my liking. This was second time at CC and I didn’t think I’d return after the first time, but the second time changed my mind.
