   2nd time here, but it's been a few years. Did not disappoint. Eclectic range of options. The wine Wednesday offer was a nice surprise. Ceviche and the rices dishes stood out. Food runners did a great job introducing each dish.

   We had an early dinner after a matinee at the Shakespeare Theater. In addition to two specials, we particularly enjoyed the chili wontons, so much as that we ordered a 2nd round.

    I had let the restaurant know that one of my guests did not eat shellfish, octopus, or Pork. They gave us the allergy menu, which wasn’t necessary, but we explained again, that there were no allergies, just please nothing with pork or shellfish or octopus. We decided on the chef’s tasting menu with cocktails. The first two courses were lovely, and then courses with shellfish and pork started appearing. Sometimes there was a non pork substitute, sometimes, no matter how often we asked, like the last special dish, that showed up with both clams AND calamari, the remade dish STIlL was not able to be eaten by the guest, as it had octopus. Explaining this to the staff was difficult, and it seems nobody really understood, which was disappointing.

    Awesome pisco sours and ceviche. Took a group here that had not experienced Peruvian food and they enjoyed. Dumplings and lomo and camarón saltados were all spot on flavor.

    Another hit by José Andreas! You'll enjoy an interesting and tasty blend between Japanese, Chinese, and Peruvian cuisine. The location is convenient and the ambiance and service are great. We will definitely dine here again!

    The food was good and we can taste it was very Well made, but silverware was very low quality, chair had problems with its foam or upholstery. I would come back for quick everyday eating. A little investment could make it much more attractive

    China-Peru fusion is an interesting concept, but the Chinese side was much better than the Peruvian side. In particular, the Peru chicken stew (name?) was ok but not up to par for this restaurant. Mushy and no flavor.

    The food was really good, the service was great. The drink cocktails were expensive and subpar. A bit pricey, but it’s a nice splurge for a special occasion. The tables decorations and plates need some sprucing up. The food made up for it. Got the 11 course meal per person, about $80 per person. The staff was very nice.

    China Chilcano has an interesting menu that is unique to the neighborhood. Always a good option for a group that likes to share small plates. It's a lively place, so be prepared to wait a bit, but it is worth it.

    A Saturday afternoon at 5:00. Filled with Cherry Blossoms site seeing groups and regular folks downtown pre/post theater goers. Very high energy. Our host was nonplussed and politely turning away the group of 8 before us without reservations. Our server Angel was congenial and unfazed at the hustle and bustle. Food was great; lettuce cups, Ají amarillo chicken stew and Lomo Saltado. Servers removed empty bowls swiftly, refilled water promptly. All and all very pleasant dining and my grumpy partner was delighted, so win/win!

    Enjoyed one of the best meals I've had in the Penn Quarter. The Sakura Sour was refreshing and artfully presented. The yakitori was wonderful. The plantains were the surprise hit. Other plates were top notch too. Very glad we were there.

    We went to enjoy some Peruvian and chifa inspired food and weren’t disappointed. We arrived a bit earlier than our booking slot so we went for some pisco sours and chilcanos at the bar, which were amazingly good. Food was right on point: some dumplings for starters with a very fresh and delicious Peruvian ceviche, and the sauces were superb, specially the peanuts and tamarinds paste; we enjoyed the lomo saltado , a true star dish on flavors and textures, the papas a la huancaina was our less favorite, underwhelming and perhaps -for our taste- undercooked potatoes. The service was courteous, prompt and constant… well deserved tips for the crew! We will certainly return !

    The food is absolutely amazing. Everything we ate was delicious and creative. The servers asked multiple times about allergies and preferences and then suggested things we might like. The restaurant was overbooked so we waited for our table for about 30 min. There really isn’t anywhere to stand so we waited in the vestibule which was chilly. Other than that, it was incredible.

    It took the restaurant more than half hour past our reservation time to seat us. However, they comp'ed the drink at the bar, sent a couple of appetizers on the house and took some off the bill. All this was unexpected and very much appreciated. Food is delicious and highly recommended

    I took a friend from Georgia to China Chilcano for his first visit. He isn't very adventuresome, but loved the Peruvia Chicken as well as the Pisco Sour. We also had dim sun which is as good as always.

    Food was outstanding. Love the variety and ability to try several items. Had one cocktail which was really enjoyable. Service was mixed. Food delivery was well-paced and allowed me to enjoy food. Staff were quick to clear plates I had finished with. Biggest issue was beverages; water was not refilled very quickly and after I finished a cocktail (during first of 3 small plates) I was never asked about another order. By the time the waiter came by and filled my water I was on the third dish and didn’t ask… Overall, I would come here again. I think my experience was based on being alone and less of a priority…so might be less inclined to do that again. Coming with others would allow me to try tasting menu too.

    The food was delicious- the traditional cocktails were also wonderful. Our server was very curt and seemed annoyed. However, all of the other staff were friendly and interested. It may have been an off night for her. We recommend!
