Going in I was a little unsure about the Asian - Peruvian fusion idea, but it was great. Good options for the vegetarians in our group too.

When you make a reservation for two, the odds of getting a table not in the middle of the noise is much better. Our food was delicious, and our waitress never let our water glasses be empty. We enjoyed the meal very much thanks to the table placement !

Very expensive for small portions... the food was good, just wish the value was a little better.

A busy Saturday afternoon but we scored a booth table overlooking 7th Street. Great start! Lots of innovative drinks and eats to try. Fish soup was outstanding as was the dim sum, first time we tried that here. A few misses - yucca fries was hardly a small plate as advertised and I did not care for the dressing. Jalea Mixta turned out all to be deep fried, least interesting way to present some very good seafood. Service was great, attentive and cheery. But my is this place crowded and noisy - be aware if you decide to go!

The food was great as usual, but our server was terrible. He was inattentive even though he was not overly busy. This was not typical for China Chilcano. Very disappointing.

We went for Valentine’s Day, and it was more crowded than usual, but we were happily surprised by how quickly we were seated for our reservation and how quickly our food came out after we ordered. The service, as always, was wonderful. It says a lot that the staff was able to provide the usual high quality experience, even on a busy holiday night. This is why we keep coming back again and again. It’s hard to find such great food service at other DC restaurants!

Excellent service on a busy Valentine's Day! Food is always interesting and innovative. Cocktail menu is excellent! Great choice for pre-theater or before events at Capital One Arena.

I'm a big fan of Jose's restaurants. Tasting menu on valentine's day was worth it price.
Sadly we were seated in those horrible and uncomfortable industrial metal chairs that are in every funky/artisanal/fusion/boho/quirky/urban restaurant up and down the east coast. There were probably Edison bulbs over the bar, but I was on the other side of the restaurant.
Anyway, enjoyed the food and hats off to the kitchen and waitstaff---Feb 14 is hard and they did a great job

I met a friend there early on Wednesday evening. We had some very tasty Pisco Sours at the bar before the happy hour prices ended, then headed to a small table for two by the window. We enjoyed the decor of the restaurant -- be sure to ask your server about what inspired the style of each section of the restaurant! We opted for the $55 Chilcano tasting menu so that we could sample a bit of several different dishes. We were told to expect about 6 dishes, but by the time dessert rolled around, it was dish #10! That included dumplings, ceviche, salads, veggies, meats, stew, and seafood. It was all amazing, and each dish was different and so very tasty. If I had to pick a couple of favorites, they would be the Causa Limeña and the Ají de Gallina. The service was friendly and prompt, and we were both thrilled to have chosen this restaurant for our evening adventures. I will definitely be going back!

The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. It was fast for lunch but not rushed. I got the chicken stirfry and it was so good. The staff treated us very well. I look forward to coming back.

My husband and I came here for their Soup Dumplings and unfortunately they were out! However our server new the menu enough to recommend other alternatives that were almost as good! Food arrived promptly, though it was very crowded it wasn’t chaotic and we were quickly seated. Looking forward to returning!

Love the restaurant, but I wish it was a little more quiet. It can get too loud and able to talk the person next to you.

We ordered tapas style (2-3) plates per the suggestion by the waiter. It was plenty of food for us and only one of the dishes was a little lackluster (fried rice). The prices were very reasonable for each dish.

The Peruvian Chinese food medley is very interesting and exciting to sample. I loved the way we could mix and match with snacks and small to medium sized dishes. We had chips, ceviche, dumplings and a noodle pork entree. Everything was a photo opportunity waiting to happen. Drinks came in all varieties and we chose some Spanish white wines by the glass. The ambience is invigorating and fun, cozy enough. Service was standard.

This was our first visit and we loved it. The food was inventive, fresh, and flavorful. Somethings were spectacular and others were okay. The truffle crab noodle special was spectacular, the tuna crudo plan and boring, it could have used a yuzu sauce and a garnish. The wine list was well thought out, we had a terrific bottle of sake and the drinks list was great. The dumplings were great and the rice dish, filet, and shrimp all wonderful. We had three desserts and only the chocolate cake with passion fruit sorbet was tasty the otters were just odd. We loved it overall and highly recommend it.

Love this place. Fabulous service. Can't go wrong with Jose Andres when it comes to anything. With Fed ID, our table got a discount! And, they do a 2nd week of restaurant week. Perfection--per usual with his great group of restaurants.

Went during restaurant week. All of the food was wonderful. The Peruvian-Asian fusion worked really well. Only thing I didn’t enjoy was the dessert, which had a very strong tangerine flavor. Pretty standard pricing for sit down dining in the district. Would definitely recommend!

We have not been impressed by this restaurant, food too elaborated to the point that single tastes we’re undistinguishable and somehow confused.
Service was normal and ordinary.
