We are on a theatre trip to NY. We found this restaurant on Opentable and thoroughly enjoyed it
My Argentinian friend said it was a wonderful menu. The selection of chorizo was magnificent!
Noise level made conversation a little difficult. Branzino had a few to many bones left behind.
Otherwise a delicious experience.
Had a great experience here in between Broadway shows. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, but our table was next to the wall so it was nice not to be sandwiched between other people. I ordered chicken, kale, and mashed potatoes and everything was very well-prepared and tasted great. I thought there would be more seasoning but maybe that is reserved for the more traditional dishes? The empanada appetizer was amazing, as was my "apple pancake" dessert.
A friend was visiting from out of town and we needed a spot near the theatre district. So we choose Chimichurri Grill. We enjoyed everything we had. We asked to share the Ensalada Buenos Aires which they brought out already divided. The feta and dill dressing was amazing. We also shared an appetizer special of grilled oysters which was wonderful. I got the Muslim De Pollo and they were kind enough to swap kale for the mashed potatoes. The Chardonnay thyme sauce was great the chicken was moist. My companion had the Chuleton De Cerdo a la San Pablo and really enjoyed it. I would go back again for sure. The only negative was the front door was broken so it would get stuck open anytime some one would go through and we near the front of the restaurant so we’d feel the cold from out side and hear the door scrape on the ground each time. I would go back again for sure.
This our favorite restaurant in the theatre district. Consistently excellent food and service.
Great food and service - BUT TOO MANY PATRONS WERE WAY TOO LOUD
The whole experience was outstanding! It was the second time we had been there and will definitely go there again. They had no problem accommodating our party of 6. They're level of integrity is impeccable. I didn't realize the gratuity was already added to the check and I added my own. The waiter came outside with the check so I could correct it! Unbelievable! A favorite NYC restaurant!
Great spot in the theater district for a very good meal. Service was wonderful. They let us have a very leisurely dinner without unnecessary interruption.
I would heartily recommend this restaurant.
Perfect pre-theater meal in a spotless, cozy, white tablecloth jewel box restaurant. Great service and quality steaks. Must get all three empanadas as appetizer to share. Hidden gem!
Small front so easy to walk past but totally worth walking through their door. Great service and great food.
The kitchen here is great - the food is not only tasty but creative. But the portions were pretty modest, and the service was neither polished nor warm. Our server made a bit of a face when a friend who tagged along for a glass of wine needed to pay for his wine and head to another obligation that evening. The portion sizes meant that I ended up with a pretty huge bill getting full here even though I steered clear of the big steaks.
Assado de Tira are a must! Service was courteous and we were well guided on wine selection. I will go back when I'm in New York.
The service was good but would have liked a bit more explanation of some of the dishes from the servers. It was difficult to draw out any explanations or comments from them when trying to make choices from the menu. After we ordered and were eating our first course, the chef came out and we were able to hear more about the dishes, but before ordering would be preferable. The outstanding dish was an appetizer of Octopus tentacle which was large and really delicious. The steak was ordinary, no complaints but just lacking something. The Chimichurri sauces were good and having different varieties was interesting. It is a small narrow restaurant with tables very, very close together but despite this it was packed the whole Saturday evening we were there. There is very little ambience and although good it just lacks something and was expensive for what it is. I would recommend it as a place for a good evening meal with no frills.
Excellent food and service for a pre-show meal. I had the churrasco argentino, which was superb. I'm very happy I took the waiter's recommendation of medium-rare, instead of my normal medium.
A Hell's Kitchen gem for several decades, Chimichurri Grill specializes in delicious Argentinian steaks, empanadas and pasta dishes. Their french fries with garlic and parsley are astounding as is the churasco with chimichurri (parsley) sauce. Great choice of Malbecs too. A theater district standby that you are always glad is there.
A gem! Wine list has some very delicious selections. Everything I’ve tasted on the menu has on numerous occasions been meticulously prepared, presented, and delectable. Staff is attentive and professional. Ambiance is a soothing slice of Buenos Aires.
Always great food. Most important grass fed grass finished meat!!! Of course I can never have enough of their empanadas... always order extra to take home too. Steaks are delicious, fresh salads. We really don’t eat much else because this is the place for steak for us. Tango your way there!!! (Well.. it’s Argentinian 😉) you ll love it
Very nice place for theatre meal. Does not feel like you are being rushed out and the food is wonderful. The staff is very cordial and service was great. Tiny place very cozy. Everything is a la carte and a bit pricey but I recommend it for a great experience.
Always good and dependable
very nice service
gets you out quickly for theater if need be
Staff was courteous and accommodating, food was excellent.
Amazing food and service. Terrific pastas and steaks the crepe brûlée is wow.
Outstanding in every respect. Will be back.
Reliable, very good steak restaurant. High quality ingredients. Excellent service. Very good wine list. A favorite in the theater district.
Muy buenas carnes.
Muy buen servicio.
Precios exageradamente altos
This was the beat steak I’ve ever had.
It was just so good. Honestly I’ve been to mag and I was just so impressed by this small unassuming restaurant.
You have to get the trio of sausage to start too. It was so so so so beautiful.
Best steak restaurant in NYC.
Service was great too!
Excellent restaurant. Very good food. A little on the pricey side. Close to the theater.
Delightful pre-theater brunch. Three of us. All food was delicious and nicely presented. Frittata cooked perfectly. Steak salad very flavorful and sufficiently large. Special muschroom ravioli in a cream sauce delicious.
The restaurant and rest room are impeccably clearn. Ambiance simple and tasteful. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing. Only four tables filled when we ate... so it was quiet.
Absolutely amazing experience, first time in NYC and my birthday, superb steaks, fabulous wine, first class service an all round wonderful experience thank you guys
Great service and delicious food!!!
Great food! Convenient location to theater
This is a neighborhood gem that requires broader appreciation. Make the effort to go to this ugly, overly busy block for a couple of hours of lovely, friendly service and really honest, delicious food. Don’t forget the sides. The charred cauliflower is divine.
Great food. The service was phenomenal. We felt like they really cared about us and made sure we got our food on time. Will definitely come again!
Always delicious and a great value. A favorite on the west side.
Excellent food and service!
The food is consistently delicious and the value is a pleasure. Also nice wine list at fair prices. On of our go to places.
The only thing better then the food was the woman who seated us she is a huge asset to this restaurant!
Great food, was my first time but I’ll be back to try more things on menu. Love the grass fed skirt steak
This restaurant provided good food and beverages with attentive and friendly service, although the price was high for the quality of the experience. I'd go back for lunch but probably skip dinner.
Ate there after a show, during Restaurant Week.
Small entrance, you may walk past it. Small, quant interior - had a high end, but comfortable feel. The value from the restaurant week menu was very good. Also, a decent wine by the glass selection.
The music was a tad loud, but not truly bothersome. We did not ask for it to be turned down. The service was outstanding! I would return without hesitation.
