Chimayo Ratings and Reviews
Chimayo was a great find! They got us in earlier than our reservation was set for and then set us at a perfect table for two right next to their fireplace. The food was amazing and our waitress gave us the perfect amount of attention to allow us to enjoy our evening without being rushed. She also gave us the recipe for their awesome cilantro dipping sauce. This place is totally worth a visit!
I have given this a 1 star overall but 4-5 stars for most areas. Our evening was spoilt by the staff allowing waiting people to stand over tables while people were sitting trying to enjoy their meals. I felt very sorry for a couple trying to enjoy their meal at a table for 2 in front of a cosy fire, they were surrounded by waiting groups of people. Very poor show and the staff were aware of the issue but did nothing.
One of our favorite Park City restaurants. The menu is creative. The food is delicious. The presentation is outstanding. This all comes with a hefty price tag so I would not recommend for daily dining... Chimayo is perfect for a special treat.
This restaurant was very crowded. There was not enough space for people to move around. It was difficult to get to the restroom with a large table seated in the way. Our booth was very quaint and the decor is really cool but just very crowded and tight. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. I had the ribs and husband had the scallops. I really didn’t care much for my meal. The ribs with the mashed potato and onion rings just didn’t go together for fine dining . Was a bad combination. We did get the mushroom quesadillas for an appetizer and it was tasty. Bread was good. Loved the cold metal cups the water was served in. Service was rushed. This is a very busy week being Christmas time so the restaurant was packed and loud. Food was very expensive and I wasn’t impressed. There are to many restaurants on Main Street to settle for this one. Wanted to try since it had great reviews and we had never been. We come to vacation here this time every year. We are avid fine diners so our expectations are high especially for this price tag $$$$$
We ate here on Christmas Eve and the food was great! Service was very good as well. The prices are very high, even for Park City. Almost every entree was $45-50. That said, the food quality was great and we had some memorable dishes and the atmosphere/decoration is really charming and fit for a special occasion.
The kids meals were not good. At least put cheese in the burritos.
My meal was delicious but I didn't appreciate getting charged extra for Serrano chillies on my already overpriced drink. If you are going to charge me more at least tell me you will do that.
Our waitresses was excellent.
The restaurant was extremely small extremely crowded with tables budded up against each other. No room to walk. You would bump into people's tables trying to make it to the bathroom. Extremely expensive. Food was not that good either. I would not recommend it.
An annual visit at Christmas, Chimayo does not disappoint. Guacamole app is unique and tasty. Carnita asada also worth the price; can be shared. Atmosphere is cozy and warm upstairs where we usually sit, but this visit was downstairs in front of kitchen door which should be banned in every restaurant. Service is generally attentive, but this visit not so much. Still, overall, a good experience, however, ask to be seated upstairs.
We booked our reservation nearly 3 months in advance. Our table was in the basement at the end of the stairs in the busy walkway and next to the coat closet. Pretty much the worst table in the restaurant. We have frequented this restaurant many times in the past as we have a home in Park City. Tonight the service was substantially sub par. We ordered cocktails and my Sangria was sparkling grape soda. I moved it to the far edge of the table after tasting it by both myself and the others at the table who agreed it was off. The waiter never asked about our drinks and I kept moving the drink further and further away from the table. Finally I had to tell him to take the drink since it was unacceptable. The waiter mentioned others also said that the Sangria was off. However, the drink was never taken off our bill. Our appetizers arrived promptly and were very good. However, it then took a good 40 minutes to then receive our entrees AFTER they cleared the finished appetizer plates. Comments to the staff about this poor service was dismissed as it appeared they felt we were tourists and they would not see us again. Very unfortunate.
Chimayo is an exceptional restuarant for a perfect evening alone with a loved one or out with friends. The food never disappoints. They say you eat first with your eyes; Chimayo proves this is the rule and not the exception. The waitstaff breath customer service and make sure every need is met.
There are many nice restaurants in Park City, but Chimayo has the perfect combination of customer service, ambiance, lovely food and excellent staff.
We are locals and this is a favorite! Always tasty, interesting combinations. Favorites are duck, calamari, trout fajitas. Great menu of margaritas. Summer specials are great. Winter makes Chimayo the coziest space. Make a reservation so you can be seated on the ground level.
I had not been to Park City and to Chimayo for several years. This restaurant has always been one of my top ten. It was every bit as excellent as I remember it. We dined there on Halloween which was an extra treat with the staff in costumes. It is a NOT to be MISSED while you are in Park City.
