Soul food via Seoul

Fried chicken and beer. A match made in heaven, right? Koreans love the combo so damn much they’ve dedicated a whole word to it. Pretty much a national pastime, Chimac comes from “chi”, short for “chikin” plus “mac” from "maekju", Korean for beer.

Inspired by this fried chicken obsession, we're proud to bring a taste of Seoul to the heart of Dublin. Think crispy free-range chicken that’s irresistibly good and sauce so delicious you’ll question all life decisions so far.

Can you believe, Chimac celebrate's its 6th year on Aungier Street this June??? We simply cannot. To mark the occasion we are hosting an event with Foxes Bow Whiskey in aid of Médecins Sans Frontières. Join us at 76 Aungier Street for a delicious meal of tacos and Foxes Bow Whiskey Slushees, with all proceeds going to a brilliant cause. As this is a pop-up event unfortunately we cannot cater for vegetarians or any other dietary preference Each ticket covers: Jalapeno cheesy Blanco Nino nachos 1 x Korean beef tartare tostada 1 x Hella Hot fried chicken taco 1 x chorizo taco 1 x frozen Foxes Bow Whiskey slushee + free mini Chimac sauce bottle for every attendee + fun music + birthday surprises & prizes

Decided to go Chimac as they’ve a wide range of sauces available in supermarkets throughout the country. Intrigued by the sauces I decided to look more about the company found out that they had a restaurant in Dublin. The waitress was very accommodating came in very early for the booking after 4pm. The original booking was at 6pm. They were able to accommodate me early thankfully. The burger “The Good Good” was super tasty oozing with flavour. Sauce was rather tasty too enjoyable. The lemon and ginger soda was good too. The chips were so so, I have had better. Mediocre chips not the best. The ketchup sauce they have is lovely with the chips. Very quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Would I go back again.. unsure. But I’d definitely order it on deliveroo without going to restaurant.

We had gorgeous burgers, they were so tasty. Friendly service too! Will 100% be back - very impressed!

The food is lovely, the staff are friendly and pleasant. Service is prompt, atmosphere in my opinion lacking something without being too (Kim)cheesy they could lean on the Korean factor and decorate accordingly to enhance the experience. That said will be going back definitely.

Great place to go for something different. Food was fantastic overall. The batter on the Cauli wings could have been less (felt there was more batter than cauliflower). Service was great and not too over the top and staff very pleasant and helpful. I feel that the decor needs working on, it just feels very bland and not comfortable for diners. They also need to look at getting some Asian beers on draught instead of just cans to offer better authentic experience and value for money as a small 330ml can is the same price as a pint on draught.

The BEST chicken burger I have ever had! The food was amazing, the chicken was perfectly cooked and so crispy! I will definitely be back.
