Established in 2005, Chilli Fagara first opened on Graham Street in Soho and soon attracted a loyal clientele with their authentic, fiery Sichuan cuisine.

The shop's intimate size and welcoming interiors – with unique yet traditional design elements that reflect the beauty of the Sichuan region – create warmth, while the cuisine creates fire.

    Food was fine. But despite having a reservation, be told you only have the table for an hour and be rushed through dinner is not a pleasant experience. Certainly not value for money, nor expected of an dinner out.

    Wir waren am Silvesterabend dort und es war ausgezeichnet. Absolute Empfehlung. Super leckeres Essen! Gehobener Service- für mich der beste während meines Hongkong Aufenthalts. Auch für Vegetarier gibts eine große Auswahl. Einfach toll!

    Food was disappointing overall, a main item was served before our appetisers, and everything failed to live up to expectations, especially considering the reputation of the restaurant, however the service was great!

    It’s been a while since we’ve been here and all I can say is... it’s fantastic! Great food with amazing spice, good service and bustling environment. If you are in HK for a few days make sure one of your evenings is spent here. You won’t regret it.

    We recently returned to Chilli Fagara for more of flavourful Sichuan food dished out at this restaurant in Soho. This restaurant is very popular amongst locals so to make reservations in advance. Restaurant is a quite small and usually full up at peak dining times, walk-ins have to wait quite a while for tables. During our recent meal, we had the Signature Beef soup (Ma menu) and the Crisp Fried Spring Rolls with plum sauce (Tang menu) for Starters. Both were quite good although we preferred the spring rolls a bit more. For mains we ordered from the Homestyle Ma Po Tofu (Ma Menu) which was quite peppery with good taste and Fragrant Sole (Ma Menu) served dry with an assortment of spices and loads of chilli peppers. Both dishes were beautiful, making good use of spices and very flavourful. Note: As for the menu, there are three sections based different degrees of spicy (hotness). These include ma (numbing), la (burning) and tang (neutral) dish concepts. Staff will explain all when you are looking over the menu. This will help you avoid ordering too many extra hot dishes during their meal. In the end, this is a very good restaurant in Soho, a place worth consideration when planning your visits to Hong Kong.

    We recently dined at Chilli Fagara and very much enjoyed everything we tried at this popular Sichuan restaurant in Hong Kong. Opening hours 11.30-3pm (lunch) an 5-11.30pm (dinner) daily. Seating area is limited so best to make reservations in advance if you want guaranteed seating. We reserved for a Saturday night by way of Open Table a few nights ahead of time and were well received upon arrival. Service was good as expected throughout our meal. As for the menu, they do a nice job explaining the three sections each being different degrees of spicy (hotness) based on ma (numbing), la (burning) and tang (neutral) dish concepts. This helps visitors avoid ordering too many extra hot dishes during their meal. Regardless of what you order, staff regularly bring napkins for those who requiring extra to wipe down their forehead during the meal. So feel free to go all in if you want to try several ma and la dishes during your meal. During our meal we tried one dish from the tang menu and two from the la menu. Serving sizes were fair, making three dishes for two patrons just about right. The two hot (la) dishes tried were the Kung Pao Chicken and the Sliced beef glazed with caramelised garlic and ginger-infused sauce. Dishes were attractive, flavourful and expectedly hot. Both were enjoyed immensely. They were tasty and 'yes' they made us sweat.... We really liked both dishes and gladly reorder both. We also tried the lettuce wrap with duck filling from the tang menu. This was a good dish and something that worked well in between the two hot (la) dishes mentioned above. You need something to help resettle your taste buds and palate when trying various Sichuan dishes. Having this non-spicy dish worked perfectly in that regard. In the end, we very much enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning to Chilli Fagara in the near future. This is an easy restaurant to recommend for those interested in tasty Sichuan food while in Hong Kong.

    Great place. Choice of three levels of heat in the food, vegetarian or not. The good was delicious although as noted by others, a bit too salty. Nice ambiance. Worth a visit!

    With 'chili' in the restaurant's name you can expect spice and heat. The restaurant did not disappoint. Menu divided into numbing, hot,mild and vegetarian. Lettuce wraps with duck were exceptional...and mildly spiced. The prawns stop a bed of red chiles was as expected spicy and well prepared, albeit a bit salty. We had the fish in broth atop glass noodles too. This was very, Very salty though the fish was sweet and delightful. Worth a second visit but know that the food seems overly salted. You would think the heat from the chiles would be sufficient with out the heavy handed salting of the food.

    This was our first visit but it won't be our last. Wonderful food, great ambiance and fantastic service made for a great experience. We shared two starters - diced chicken wrapped in lettuce and mushroom spring rolls. The main course consisted of Emperor Prawns in a fiery sauce and beautifully cooked Sole buried in a mountain of chilli's. Tsingtao served the traditional way - in a bowl rather than a glass - was a nice touch. A little pricey but well worth it.
