Tried this place for the first time and loved it even before our food arrived… which ended up being delicious! Our server was so sweet and attentive, and the whole atmosphere was happy and colorful and lovely. I am looking forward to coming back!
It was my first time dining here and we enjoyed it! Our server was so sweet I’m so sorry that I don’t remember her name, but every single recommendation that she made was amazing! Will definitely be back!
Lisa, it sounds like you enjoyed your visit and we're so happy your server made your evening so enjoyable. Thank you and we'll see you back soon!
Casual Mexican spot that can also become a dressed up brunch or night occasion. Amazing drinks so get prepared to be tipsy
Thank you Cheriden. That's nice to see you enjoyed our drinks so much and we greatly appreciate your kindreview. Hopefully you'll be back soon!
What a beautiful restaurant! Loved every minute of our experience from the moment we walked in the door! The service was exceptional and the food was a culinary delight/experience!! Definitely listen to your server’s recommendations. We were not steered wrong in any of the deliciousness! We will definitely be back and it is now our new favorite restaurant!
First time trying this place, great food and cocktails, friendly staff - what's not to like! Also enjoyed that the menu had some unique twists on typical items to make it a little more interesting.
Delicious and creative. Very high-quality dishes and a great happy hour. The snapper collars are fabulous!
Food is truly authentic. Service was slow but manager took care of our dinner, we only paid for drinks. Love the deco
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We look forward to going back.
Amazingggggggg must go now!
Delicious food, and enthusiastic service. Had a manager check on us and get feed back- very hospitable.
Sampled multiple items as a first visit- Snapper collar, steak tacos, duck sope- all excellent. Will def be back!
Food was good
Mezcal cocktails great
This is the best authentic Mexican high cuisine in the city. Chef Thomas Gross has a real gift.
New menu, different than pre-Covid. Not a single standard option so if you have picky eaters or children, I’d skip this. They kept jalapeño margarita which is still good. Also, the oysters and queso fundido were good.
Amazing staff, food drinks everything!! Can’t wait to return.
Wonderful hostess! Wonderful server, Alana! Great food!
My family and I tried Chido & Padres for the 1st time this weekend. We all were a little intimidated by the menu as most of the dishes were unfamiliar, but our server was helpful in providing info so we could decide. And her recommendations were spot on. The food was really really good.
The decor is cute, the atmosphere is fun and the service was good. The only feedback I have is that our service was a little slow and we had to ask for our server to come back to us a few times. Also, the menu could be a little more detailed about ingredients. We had a few surprises and had to send dishes back because they included ingredients that my sons were allergic to.
Everything I ate was delicious. The atmosphere is super cute. You have to get the queso and street corn.
The food was excellent and the portion sizes are large.
Wonderful time, greta server, food was a beautiful display and delicious. We all felt like we were eating in Mexico!
Nice vibe for an upscale Mexico restaurant. Well done dishes and a good margarita.
Awesome service food and decor! We loved it and will be back.
Jasmine our server was amazing!! Food was delicious and the decor was so fun! Perfect for a date or girls night out!! We got the carrots (amazing!!) and chicken (also amazing!) I would def recommend to any friend:)
Not many options for vegetarians. Guacamole needs more spices
Overall, everything was great. Only one issue was that we made reservations for patio seating and it wasn't available. But, the seating indoors was adequate.
According to my husband, this is authentic Mexican food. We all enjoyed our meals.
Just an overall fantastic experience. A MUST try. Service from every person was warm and kind and truly over the top. Especially the hostess—I had my birthday dinner here and didn’t expect anything special but she went above and beyond to make us all feel comfy and special!! Food was unique and delicious and the patio was cute, fun and relaxing. The decor inside was also so unique and beautiful.
Wow! What a hidden gem. Great outdoor patio, beautiful interior. But the FOOD is why we will go back. Tried lots of things and loved them all. The sweet potatoes were over the top. So glad we tried this wonderful spot.
Very well crafter drinks and unique delicious menu options. We had a wonderful server.
This restaurant is such a breath of fresh air. The food was delicious and had such a wonderful presentation. I had the oysters and squash blossom tacos.
Ambiance was on point.
I wish I could offer a better review. I was hyped after seeing the restaurant hyped on several different social media outlets but the experience once I arrived wasn't great. One, I had made a reservation through open table for 7:45 and they weren't ready nor able to seat us for a solid 20 minutes after and only after I had to inject myself in front of a hostess or two after being told to wait at the bar as they got our table ready. The service was slow. We had to ask for water at the table twice, since when people asked for water they only brought water to the two people that brought it up. We had to flag someone down again (a while later too since nobody was really checking on us much) just to get two more glasses of water. The food was mediocre and pretty expensive for what you got. The tacos felt like they'd sat in the kitchen for a while because when they came out they were so soggy you couldn't pick them up with your hands without the fillings falling through the tacos so I wound up having to eat my tacos with utensils, and leaving the soggy shells on the plate. The flavors were very muted and sometimes pretty flavorless for the cuisine type. The only redeeming quality is that whoever was slinging drinks at the bar was killing it. If I ever returned it would be to completely pass up the food and dining experience, and just make snag a couple of drinks on the patio.
Will never be back. It was way too loud without the garage doors open- the sound was just echoing. The food had zero flavor. I mean zero! We ordered chicken tacos, pork cheek quesadilla, and the goat cheese dip. None of it had flavor and was all very bland. The servers were clearly too rushed and very hard to have a good experience with given the noise level. I can live with noise and poor service of the food is amazing, but the food was terrible.
Great food and ambience is wonderful.
Staff very friendly and knowledgeable .
Will come back for sure !!
Chido & Padres "rebooted" after the COVID lockdowns, switching from Tex-Mex to something closer to heartland Mexican fare – don't come here looking for burritos and quesadillas. This makes the menu feel a little limited, but that said, we had no complaints about the food. We started with the excellent chips and salsa, and a cocktail. Then we had carrots, sweet potatoes and chicken tacos, all of it gussied up with interesting sauces and garnishes. Everything was delicious (if perhaps a little over-dressed – as tasty as the sauces were, our food ended up a little soupy). The service was merely OK, polite but inattentive. The space is well-decorated but hard and loud.
This place is amazing i tried the octopus, oysters, guacamole and the amazing branzino. Cant wait to return to try the carne asada. and more mezcals :)
Chill vibes and good drinks - definitely a good spot for any time of the week.
In theory the dishes sound good but once it comes out it’s all so heavy. Everything is fried or slathered in butter and after a few bites of the oyster entree (which wasn’t really traditional oysters it was like cheese on the oysters and then you eat it with the homemade sourdough bread which was good except it was lathered in way too much butter). I just felt line I couldn’t move after. The tacos and enchilada were also deep fried and so greasy. On top of all of that, pretty sure they only have one waiter serving all tables but they had like 3-4 people running food to the table. He rarely checked on us because he had all the other tables to deal with too.
Wouldn’t go again. It was nice to try once but that’s about it
Place was empty on a Saturday. Our server, Eric, must have been having a bad day because he was one of the worst servers I’ve encountered. It was painful for him to be there. Rude and uninterested. Food was subpar. Drinks OK. Won’t be back.
The branzino was amazing!
Unique flavors- when you want great Mexican food that is fresh and spicy but not your usual Tex-Mex fare. Killer margaritas too!
This was my first time at Chido and Padre's, but it won't be my last. I was extremely impressed with everything. The drinks and food were fantastic, and the service was outstanding... our server was very knowledgeable. A+!!!
