For us, food like fried chicken and wings invoke associations of friends, family and time shared together.
Here at Chicken Shack, we strive to honor those traditions by putting our hearts and souls into thoughtfully prepared comfort food for you to enjoy. We bread our fried chicken, cut our fries and brine our own pickles all by hand. Sauces and dressings are made from scratch daily, just like our biscuits, waffles and cones.
So welcome. Sit down and stay awhile.
We firmly believe in the power of food to bring us together, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our shack with you.
First time we tried it...not just a chicken place...but the chicken is very good...will be back
Service was slow, but overall ok. Too pricey for what we got. BLT was Blah, but the chicken was good.
We both ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. The sausage gravy was tasty and flavorful but the meat lacked flavor. Just salt and pepper before breading the meat and deep frying would have gone a long way in the taste of the chicken fried steak. We both had to add salt and pepper and hot sauce and we wished that wasn’t the case.
I had a waffle as a side. Not your traditional waffle at all; more like a donut in texture and flavor. It wasn’t what I was expecting and I really wasn’t a fan. Sorry. I really just wanted a waffle. My love liked it. She did not love it, but liked it.
The garlic Caesar was delish! That was the star of the meal. The dressing was bursting with garlic flavor and it was dressed perfectly!
I wish we would have tried the chicken, as it is named The Chicken Shack. Hopefully the chicken is better than the chicken fried steak. Service was stellar and definitely get the Caesar if you like garlic. Will we return? Perhaps, to try the chicken for redemption.
Chicken piece batter was much too thick - blt was tasty
Dessert shared was s bit small
Service was excellent - enjoyed the booth
Wine was fine -
Food was ok. Not great but not bad. The waiter was nice but was big on telling us everything was homemade. We must have heard that 50 times. The chicken breading came off but was flavorful. And the waffles were a bit dry And crumbly. I won’t race back but also if someone Invited me I wouldn’t turn and run the other way either.
What we had was pretty good with the exception of the smoked grilled chicken sandwich which was thin, dry, and they likely used liquid smoke. Kids loved the popcorn chicken and waffles. Their play on poutine was tasty!
Food was good. Service was very good. My wife and I ordered the Full Shack 4 pc chicken with a side salad and house waffle for the sides, plus a side item of grilled chicken. We got 2 orders of chicken tenders (1 order = 2 tenders) plus an order of the hand cut fries for the kids. All the chicken tasted good. The 2 pcs of dark meat in the Shack were a leg and thigh with the leg being just barely done (this was the only low note). The thigh was just right as was the grilled breast meat. The 2 pcs of white meat in the Shack came as tenders which were good but the coating seemed a bit on the heavy side. The kids didn’t hesitate to eat their tenders though plus the fries also disappeared quickly. I liked the waffle but the wife and kids not as much; with cinnamon and thinner it’s not a typical waffle. If you’ve been to Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles in L.A. and liked their’s you should like this one. Overall the food and ambiance was good and it was clean and the service was personal. We’ll come back again.
