For us, food like fried chicken and wings invoke associations of friends, family and time shared together.
Here at Chicken Shack, we strive to honor those traditions by putting our hearts and souls into thoughtfully prepared comfort food for you to enjoy. We bread our fried chicken, cut our fries and brine our own pickles all by hand. Sauces and dressings are made from scratch daily, just like our biscuits, waffles and cones.
So welcome. Sit down and stay awhile.
We firmly believe in the power of food to bring us together, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our shack with you.

Good comfort food and our server was ver attentive even though it looked like she was the only one working. Overall, we will go back.
Awesome chicken, great meal
Great service. Chicken was close to being under done for one of us?
Surprisingly overlooked spot in Anchorage. Great fried chicken, delicious waffles with hint of cinnamon served with honey butter & real maple syrup, and good assortment of other comfort foods (burgers, biscuits & gravy, Mac & cheese, etc). I had the roasted garlic Caesar salad (the dressing is house made & great!) with grilled chicken, kids had 1-pc fried chicken and waffle side, cheeseburger, and spouse had the spicy fried chicken sandwich. All devoured and had great service. Kitchen music was loud, but no music in the restaurant area made for a strange ambiance. They do a good job cleaning/disinfecting between guests but need to refinish the tables with a harder-setting urethane (they always feel sticky but aren’t really).
Haven’t been in a while, was looking forward to it but the food was disappointing. I ordered the Tennessee hot Benedict; the chicken was over breaded, over fried (big slabs of breading peeled off like a shell w every bite) and the sauce was haphazardly splashed on leaving large untouched places and others saturated.
Food was not the best. Fries were burnt and cut way to small. No seasoning on them either. Portions were too small for price.
Food was good but it took 15 minutes to place a drink order, 50 minutes to get out orders, and our server only came to the table to check on us once. There were only 6 tables with customers and there were 2 servers working. It’s a shame because the food is very good.
The chicken biscuit sandwich is a good concept, but the biscuit quickly becomes a crumbly mess. I expected the “fried chicken” to be fried chicken, not chicken tenders, so I was surprised by that, but they were flavorful. My daughter got the popcorn chicken and did not like it at all.
Love the decor, modern & clean. Disappointed that we let the owner know it was a birthday yet nothing special was done. I won’t ever go back for a special occasion. It’s these little details that bring back people. The place was very empty the entire time we were there.
Great new place in town!
Worst service, burnt chicken, absolutely everything about this trip to chicken shack proves why I don’t go there
Best chicken in town! The waiter was excellent and the food was on point.
Pretty good location. Our waiter did a decent job, but he did not pay attention to detail on several small request. The food was average. Nothing to brag about, however it when be worth giving them another shot.
All fried food had a bitter burnt oil taste.
We are repeat customers. Food is always fresh and tasty. Try the Lime Fizz, it's like having a key lime pie as a drink. This place has been our go to restaurant. I am a fan of the Kale Slaw served in a waffle cone. Who'd a thought that ? They did and it's great! Chicken is moist and seasoned just right. My husband really enjoyed his chicken fried steak. I opted for a smaller selection of the "mini-shack"chicken served with a side. I knew they had and wanted room for their blueberry cobbler. YUMMY!
I really like coming here for weekend brunch. IMO they have the best hollandaise sauce for their Benedict choices.
Food was excellent and our server was very helpful. Will go again.
They have the BEST fried chicken in Anchorage, Alaska!!
Great food! Highly recommend.
The food was amazing... like always! I think they were down a server because I only saw one for the whole restaurant and the service was slow due to this. My only big issue was that they sat the booth directly behind me and didn’t adhere to the 6 ft social distancing protocols for table seating. I still had a great meal with great company. You can’t go wrong with The Chicken Shack!
Dining room was short staffed on a nasty weather night- the single server did a good job covering until a second server arrived but it still made service slower than normal. Good food, cooked well, small but tasty wine selection
Crispy fried chicken sandwich was delicious, fries were real cut potatoes..
Food wasn’t that great. Chicken had tons of breading and was salty. Waffle fell apart when trying to eat it. Have had better elsewhere. Service was good and place was clean.
Did business meeting for 7 people. Great service. Out of towners were blown away.
We had been looking for a new place to have Sunday brunch. Finding this wonderful place that has great food and mimosas is a wonderful find!
We had been looking forward to dinner at the Chicken Shack but unfortunately left disappointed in the experience. The chicken pieces were burnt on the ends, fries portions were small and half of my fries were burnt little end pieces. When Red Robin will give bottomless fries, hot and fresh consistently, this is poor competition from the Chicken Shack. Sandwich was mediocre with a small portion of grisly thigh meat. The strawberry lemonades were watery. Service was lackluster, just OK. All in all, for the price this was not the best dining experience. I hope Chicken Shack can become more consistent in quality and service or (with all the competition out there) they may not make it long term.
The food is great, comfort food at its best. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars is all 4 of us had eggs with our breakfast (poached & over medium), the yolks were hard on all 4 plates. Everything else was fantastic...the chicken fried steak melts in your mouth!
Chicken too greasy, chicken fried steak too salty, salad was good, blt sandwich was good.biscuits were good.
The restaurant itself ecos quite a bit, it could really use some celing hanging noise canceling panels.
Outside of that some of the best eats I've had in a while. Spicy chicken sandwich was tasty, but definitely spicy about 3/4 through I hit a saucy spot that hit me like a freight train. Still the best flavor I've had on a chicken sandwich 5 stars from me overall.
First time dining here. We noticed we had a window to catch lunch before a flight home. We were seated immediately. Autumn provided stellar service. The chef accommodated a food allergy. Great burger.
Friendly staff and delicious food. Their specials are amazing!
First time we tried it...not just a chicken place...but the chicken is very good...will be back
Service was slow, but overall ok. Too pricey for what we got. BLT was Blah, but the chicken was good.
We both ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. The sausage gravy was tasty and flavorful but the meat lacked flavor. Just salt and pepper before breading the meat and deep frying would have gone a long way in the taste of the chicken fried steak. We both had to add salt and pepper and hot sauce and we wished that wasn’t the case.
I had a waffle as a side. Not your traditional waffle at all; more like a donut in texture and flavor. It wasn’t what I was expecting and I really wasn’t a fan. Sorry. I really just wanted a waffle. My love liked it. She did not love it, but liked it.
The garlic Caesar was delish! That was the star of the meal. The dressing was bursting with garlic flavor and it was dressed perfectly!
I wish we would have tried the chicken, as it is named The Chicken Shack. Hopefully the chicken is better than the chicken fried steak. Service was stellar and definitely get the Caesar if you like garlic. Will we return? Perhaps, to try the chicken for redemption.
Chicken piece batter was much too thick - blt was tasty
Dessert shared was s bit small
Service was excellent - enjoyed the booth
Wine was fine -
Food was ok. Not great but not bad. The waiter was nice but was big on telling us everything was homemade. We must have heard that 50 times. The chicken breading came off but was flavorful. And the waffles were a bit dry And crumbly. I won’t race back but also if someone Invited me I wouldn’t turn and run the other way either.
What we had was pretty good with the exception of the smoked grilled chicken sandwich which was thin, dry, and they likely used liquid smoke. Kids loved the popcorn chicken and waffles. Their play on poutine was tasty!
Food was good. Service was very good. My wife and I ordered the Full Shack 4 pc chicken with a side salad and house waffle for the sides, plus a side item of grilled chicken. We got 2 orders of chicken tenders (1 order = 2 tenders) plus an order of the hand cut fries for the kids. All the chicken tasted good. The 2 pcs of dark meat in the Shack were a leg and thigh with the leg being just barely done (this was the only low note). The thigh was just right as was the grilled breast meat. The 2 pcs of white meat in the Shack came as tenders which were good but the coating seemed a bit on the heavy side. The kids didn’t hesitate to eat their tenders though plus the fries also disappeared quickly. I liked the waffle but the wife and kids not as much; with cinnamon and thinner it’s not a typical waffle. If you’ve been to Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles in L.A. and liked their’s you should like this one. Overall the food and ambiance was good and it was clean and the service was personal. We’ll come back again.
