Baby Back/St. Louis Ribs
My fish was overdone but the staff was great!
Best barbecue I’ve ever had! We absolutely loved Q! Robert was our server, and he was wonderful. It was the perfect quiet, intimate, yet not too fancy, vibe that we wanted for a romantic birthday dinner.
Fantastic dinner as usual with excellent service
Do not eat here!! The tables were so sticky and the food was bland!! I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!
The food is terrific and the outdoor area is lovely.
Love Chicago Q and glad it is open still. We sat outside and it was great.
The food was excellent. We all had the baby back ribs but I had the q3 which is the ribs with two additional meats. The additional meats were the pulled chicken and the beef brisket. The sides for all of us were the fries, Mac and cheese, corn bread, and the coleslaw. In addition we had the pickles which are a must. The come as an appetizer, but having them with the meat is the answer. Delicious! The servers were very attentive and they help one another. We dined outside and still the noise level was no problem at all. The weather was beautiful and the neighborhood made for good people watching. Excellent dining experience. We will return.
I visited Chicago q many years ago and was excited to return. My visit this time was a disaster. We arrived and were ignored by the hosts for about 15 minutes. After we were seated, the waiter promptly took our drinks and appetizer orders, but ended up forgetting to put them in. We waited for a while, until the waiter finally realized we didn't receive any food yet. (The same happened to two other tables near us!) Once we got our food, everything was good, but not great. Overall, I was super disappointed in this visit. I am sad to see the restaurant management totally not care. In addition to being unattentive, I felt that the staff was uncaring and rude (especially the host).
Great food, great service, will definitely be back!
My fried chicken and mashed potatoes were great. But! I have never had such Terrible service at Q!! My GF and I were there early/5 pm, so it wasn't like the waiter was overwhelmed. It took a LONG time for him to take our drink order, semi-long time to take our order. Didn't check on us. Didn't offer us a dessert menu. Only reason he finally stopped back was we put our credit cards on the table. Very Sad indeed.
Food excellent. Third time here and the food is why I go back. Service was meh. Sat on the outdoor patio, which is a nice atmosphere. Problem with outside seating is the tables, nearly everyone out there struggled with rickety unbalanced tables. Upgrading or repairing tables would enhance the whole experience.
The location and feel was great. The appetizers were all great, slow getting the chicken wings which came out with the main course. Our waiter was obviously from another country, not talkative and not very helpful when asked questions. Overall food was great! Definitely going back.
We were visiting Chicago and this restaurant was on our bucket list. We brought our 2 friends who live here and had never been - it’s now on the top of their favorite places to eat! Advice to first timers (like us!) - when ordering the side that comes with your dinner, have each person order something different. Because each side we got on our plate was big enough to share between all 4 of us!! And if you think the portion doesn’t look very large (the plates themselves are big), you will be mistaken! There’s a deceptively huge amount of food! Never been so pleasantly stuffed in a very long time.
Wrong food and drink order. Food was just okay. Waited forever for the check and finally had to flag the host to get it.
Parents and grandparents were in town and took them to a brand new spot that I’ve never been to either. Amazing experience with really great food at an awesome price given the area.
They were very accommodating as due to traffic we were 30 minutes late.
We checked on line for Gluten Free options as both my daughter and wife cannot have gluten. There seemed to be plenty based on other people's reviews and come on it s a BBQ place. The reviews also said the servers were very knowledgeable for GF. When we got there the server never asked us if we wanted drinks. When we asked about GF meals, he said he would only recommend the Mahi Mahi as even the BBQ foods are placed on a table where they have wheat from making cakes. We almost walked out and would of but we had a show to get to. When he walked away we went online as we have a lot of apps for GF restaurants and they all said Chicago Q had 5 stars. We asked the waiter if they wiped down the tables in kitchen after making the cakes and he said f course. So why discourage any other meal? We concluded he was pushing for two Mahi Mahi meals as they were at market price. They both ate the brisket plate which they loved and did not cause any issues. Plus we had a business woman eating alone next to us who was extremely LOUD taking business on the phone for our entire meal
This place is really a hidden gem here in Chicago. The food is great, as are the drinks. Real BBQ and even better cornbread. Dinner, brunch - everything is tasty and good. Highly recommended for anytime you want something a little different than what you’d normally expect. Highly recommend.
The buttermilk fried chicken and Mac and cheese were fantastic
Awesome brunch menu. Their hushpuppies were one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. Excited to go back.
Good was pretty good. The service was weird. They all seemed angry to be at work or annoyed. It made the experience less fun. Also the high tops and the chairs don’t match and sitting at them is so awkward. Not a big deal just added to the experience. Would be nicer if you are able to sit on the patio
The food was great, but the restaurant was pretty warm, we were stuffed into a booth, and the service was very slow. All the food is excellent though!
understaffed and almost non-existent service…food was not on par with true bbq restaurants such as Smoque…first and last visit unfortunate since it’s in our neighborhood
Birthday party in the city
Excellent food and service. We've eaten there before, and it's always been very good.
The food is good. It has gotten more expensive since the reopening. No more complimentary chips and pickles. Three sandwiches, an appetizer and three drinks were $140+ and one of the drinks were simply a beer. There were upcharges on all three of our sides. I use to go there all the time but I think it's been priced out of my "casual weekday dining" places to go.
Love the outdoor patio! Food was great and service could have been faster but all in all a solid experience.
Everything was amazing! I buss boy took my food before I was done😩.
I was entertaining an out of town guest who wanted ribs, I wanted to show her downtown. The overall experience was good but the food, not so much; the ribs were served cold, they were not meaty and didn't taste as if they were smoked. The fried green tomatoes were tasteless. The 5 wings dings were good but we could have had a couple more for the price. The ambiance was nice but you're in downtown Chicago, so...
I was very disappointed, she played it off "Oh the sauce is really good". My 1st and last time dining there.
To die for! Best barbecue around. We went on Wednesday and they had $5 old fashioned cocktails too, which was awesome!!!1
It’s always a great experience at Q’s. Good drinks and excellent BBQ.
I come here every time I visit Chicago. It never disappoints! Start with the chips and pickles and make sure to get a side of corn bread.
Great place for brunch. Food was delicious and service outstanding. Will come back again when we return to Chicago
The buttermilk chicken on the menu is the recipe of Chef Art Smith, best known as chef to Oprah. You get 4 giant pieces of chicken accompanied by the creamiest mashed potatoes! I could only eat one piece and now have dinner for two more nights.
I am not a big fan of BBQ in general, but everything was delicious. I especially liked the spice rubbed wings appetizer and the full rack of baby back ribs fell off the bone and was beyond satisfying.
We saw LeeAnn on BBQ Pit master’s (which we watch faithfully) and when we realized her restaurant was in Chicago we knew we had to try it. We were NOT disappointed! Food was Awesome!!
Great service, tasty food!! Would definitely recommend 👍
The restaurant ambiance was very nice. Our waitress was exceptional with great suggestions on the menu. She even brought us a complementary sauce to try with our chips which was delicious. I would definitely return! The sliced brisket could be cut with a fork! So tender, flavorful...melt in your mouth goodness! Thank you!
Restaurant is terrific. Nice setting, comfortable booths, awesome food and great service. Everything was perfect.
Food was terrific and it was a great experience.
Absolutely wonderful food and service. Beautiful setting and great value. I have severe food allergies and they're always knowledgeable and accommodating. I feel completely safe and really enjoy being able to have a nice night out. Would definitely recommend.
