Chicago q Ratings and Reviews
It was a quiet Thursday night. Everything was all-star as usual but one thing struck me as unique. ONE rib of mine fell onto the tray they were serving the plates from. Thirty seconds later a server came over with two extra ribs and apologized. I wouldn't have said anything, but it's that level of attention that will keep us coming back.
We’ve been here for dinner several times and liked it a lot. This time the service was very poor. We didn’t get a side we ordered at all yet it was on the bill. The food was fine. The restaurant was very quiet (empty) on a Sunday night. Won’t be going back for a while.
I have been to Q a few times and the food is delicious. However, my most recent experience was horrible service. We arrived on time and were told they were 30 minutes behind and to wait in the bar area until our name was called. After an hour, we went to check with the hostess who said she "forgot about us" and that we "should've reminded her". Upon finally being seated, the food took another hour to come out after ordering. Overall, it was nearly a three hour dinner which caused us to get a $60 parking ticket. The restaurant did nothing to rectify the situation or even apologize.
This was a very disappointing evening. We had a reservation but still had to wait 15 minutes. Once seated the waitress started out very attentive, but as the evening progressed we saw less and less of her. They were out of the beer I ordered and when the food came it was dry and not very warm. The restaurant was noisy and warm inside. Dinner took 2 hours as we waited around a lot. As I said, very disappointing given the high OpenTable rating.
The food is very mediocre- not great. The ribs were dry and the pulled pork was flavorless. The beans just didn’t taste good period.
Service was OK- not amazing. The food came out fast but the waiter wasn’t attentive nor friendly. It was REALLY loud. Since we went for a friends get together it was hard to catch up in such a loud space.
The value was pretty good- their happy hour deal is decent.
Overall, will not be returning.
Outstanding bloody mary bar, never had so many additional options (bacon, burnt ends, smoked sausage, olives, cheeses, celery). Benedicts so big... couldn't finish but worth every bite. Service was attentive but not smothering. Want to come back during summer to get patio seating.
First, food was very good and we drive in periodically due to this fact.
Service left alot to be desired. Server was very nice but was not attentive to us. We asked for a steak knife which she finally brought to table about ten minutes later. Never came back to ask if wanted refresh on drinks.
This was a birthday occasion. Not asking for major freebie but nothing done.
We loved Chicago Q. The food is wonderful, the service is warm and professional and the place itself is comfortable and attractive. We were seated promptly at our reserved time and asked whether we would like to be seated outside or inside (It was a lovely evening). Our waiter was attentive and brought us the restaurant's complimentary pickles (delicious) and chips while we perused the menu. He answered our questions and helped us with ordering the right quantities. Overall, a delightful evening and we will be back!
Yet another WONDERFUL brunch! Chicago q is earning our repeat business in every way, from the friendly/professional service to their outstanding food and coffee (!) Even with so many reputable choices in the neighborhood, we are losing interest in going anywhere else...
I had high expectations but, I was completely underwhelmed! The food was not that good at all. I ordered the shrimp and grits and french toast. I substituted the bacon for a potato hash and it was just not good. I am not sure what happened but the food took a really long time where 2 tables who were seated after us received their orders 1st and the waitress had to come over and apologize but, didn't offer anything to accommodate us for the wait. The food arrived warm, not hot and was completely under seasoned! I I could have made a better dish at home. I'm mad that I wasted my time and money at this place and I will never go back here again.
NOT good!!! After reading all the positive reviews, I was looking forward to trying Chicago Q. I love BBQ! It was disappointing. Everything has some sort of a Mexican pepper in it, even the corn bread. The chips they serve tasted just like Lays, except cold and greasy. The shrimp and grits was tasteless. On top of that, the server was nowhere to be found, even though there were only 4 other people in the restaurant. It was a terrible experience.
