I am from Maryland and was in town to see Hamilton with my daughter. She requested Barbecue so I looked this place up and loved the reviews and decided to visit. We were immediately greeted with a smile and seated promptly by the host. It took no longer than 2 minutes for our server to come over and place chips and pickles for us to snack on. The pickles are ADDICTIVE! And the chips were amazing as well. We ordered the alligator which was heavenly along with the Mac n cheese and the ribs. My daughter cleaned her bones and ate some of mine!
If I am ever in Chicago again, I will definitely visit. Our Server Erick was fantastic as well. Very polite and patient and checked on us just enough to make sure we were good to go. Excellent service and amazing food!
Great food, great service and portions.
Scheduled an 8pm reservation and was a few minutes late. Hostess was very accommodating and sat us right away. (Place was roughly half full). We ordered the Brisket Meatballs appetizer, pulled pork entree, and brisket Mac n cheese. All the food was fantastic! Our favorite between the three dishes were the brisket meatballs.
Great food & drinks - my only qualm is that the upstairs area had really loud music! Would’ve been nice to turn the volume down a bit - seemed like I had to yell even at a small 4 person table. But otherwise everything was great!
What happened to this once great neighborhood BBQ restaurant? Poor service and food made with little care. Very disappointing.
Pretty laid back atmosphere. With great food and good service. Their spiked lemonade is pretty good and the mac and cheese is killer!!
Great overall experience. We had a party of 7 seated in the large booths in the back. Might have been a bit cramped for 7 people but other than that it was a great experience.
Always good bbq - prompt service as well
We came here on a Saturday night date, and loved the southern-style design inside, although it was a bit loud and crowded for easy conversation. We tried the pulled pork, grilled chicken, okra, and cornbread, all of which were excellent. The meat was tender, and you could tell care went into the flavors of the unique bbq sauces. I especially liked the sides, well-seasoned and tender okra and buttery sweet cornbread with a short crumb.
Excellent! We were on a trip to Chicago and came here because of a recommendation. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great!
Just what I expected and a little bit more. Great food, service and environment. Can’t wait to go back.
Love the pitmaster mac with pulled pork!!
A wonderful birthday dinner!
Amazing! All around great service and delicious food! I’m new to Chicago from NYC and have to say Chicago Q delivers on quality, service, and taste!
Excellent service, from the host to the waitress, to the attending server who filled our water, brought out the chips & pickles, and our food- everyone else was very courteous and professional. The food itself was excellent. The ambiance was classy and quiet enough to enjoy conversation and have a great time!
Great friendly staff, Food came out of the kitchen quickly and Quickly
Chicago Q was surprisingly amazing. There was not one thing that was not perfect. We loved every bit!!!! Definitely will be back. The ribs and carrot cake soooooooo good!!!!!!!
The service on Sunday was Fair at best. We received our food that we were dining in with, and placed a to-go order that took 45 minutes.
Manager had attitude when I wanted to use open table to get points !! Told me it cost restaurant $7 per person . Place was empty and still got average service
AMAZING Menu and best BBQ to date :-)
Honestly a pretty decent experience compared to what I was expecting being a bbq restaurant in a touristy area of the city. Get the burnt ends- way better than the brisket...Smokey and moist while the brisket fell short being slightly dry and grey. Mashed potatoes, as mundane of an item, were super delicious and I wanted another order but refrained. The vinegar and mustard sauces were delicious. Our server was perfectly pleasant. Good stop for an inexpensive/mid priced sit down meal in the area.
Great bbq ... wish I could get pat the review feature in open table though, but it requires a review of a certain length. So padding.
It used to be the place to go to for ribs in Chicago.
Don't go there, you can do a lot better at so many other places.
I had my birthday party there for 7 of my closest friends. The service is top notch. I loved the atmosphere and the decor. I felt like I was in an luxury Caribbean restaurant. Food was delicious. They bring tortilla chip and sweet pickles to your table and constantly replenish them. I will definitely go back there again
Forgot how good this place is!
Slow service in the bar. Not sure why they are open for lunch on a Monday. Felt awkward with no one there. Food and service just ok.
This was our second trip to the Q. Loved the food, atmosphere, everything. Can’t wait to come back!
Brunch was amazing, and the service was fantastic!
We were vacationing on the Gold Coast and had trouble finding a reasonably priced restaurant on the neighborhood. Chicago Q is a gem! I’m a pescatarian and really enjoyed the salmon.
For it being a slow sunday night, our service kind of lacked. Our server was not very informative or personable. (Which is ok but you would think with it being slow, you would take the time to explain items) food was great like always, yummy wines and clean restaurant. You were surprisingly out of the better bourbons which was a bummer. We’ll be back but come on Q... :-)
Everything was very good except the noise level was off the charts. We didn’t stay for desert because we couldn’t hear our conversation.
Really loud. Couldn’t have a conversation. Ended up sick from the pork platter. Won’t go back.
The food was excellent. We went for brunch, and we loved everything! We ordered so many different entrees to share and they were wonderful!
Food was delicious. Service as great. Will be back.
This place was awesome! I got a reservation for 2 for Friday night at 8:30 (although that was unnecessary because it wasn't full). We each had a cocktail (an Old-fashioned and a Paloma)- both were good, but not great. The food was outstanding! We had the hush puppies to start, then the pulled chicken, half slab of ribs, and the stuffed poblano pepper - all were great! We will definitely be stopping back here on our next Chicago trip!
Service was on the slow side, but the food was really good.
Great service and atmosphere. I'm a vegetarian, so I looked at this date night as a sacrifice for my meat-eating husband. After trying the food I would happily go back. I had the stuffed poblano pepper, which was SO delicious, though maybe a bit too salty. I'd get it again or try the good-looking kale salad the neighboring table had. My husband loved the meat and sauces--he had the prime brisket sandwich. Good date spot!
Great atmosphere, beautiful scenery and if you like BBQ and a more upscale experience this is the place for you!
Food was wonderful, meatball appetizer and Mac and cheese side were amazing!
Absolutely loved the homemade pickles and chips right when we sat down at the table. The hush puppies were as amazing as advertised. BBQ was good and the vibe was cool and homey.
