Great food and service
Great food and amazing service !!!!
I always love coming here, the ribs are amazing! the portions can be big so don't over order
The food is great! However, the service is horrible. This is my third time dining here and each time the service has gotten worse and worse. Servers are inattentive, and not personable at all. Last night, when my food was served a guest in my party was given the wrong side. It took about 10 minutes to flag someone down who then had to find out waitress. When she arrived to the table, she issued no apology and simple stated she would put the order in. It should have already been in since we ordered at the time everyone else ordered their food . By the time it came out the rest of my guest food was cold. I just expect more from an establishment on the Gold Coast.
i have had bbq all over America and the ribs here are probably the best ever!
My girlfriends and I met for our annual NYE brunch, many were first time visitors. Even with our large reservation number of 9, they were able seat us immediately upon arriving. The brunch menu was very good and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server Kristen was amazing and help give recommendations and handled our one special food request like a pro! We will definitely come back and it was a great way to end the year with good food and good friends.
Great food and service
Went for a special Christmas Eve dinner. The place was not packed yet them wait staff seemed to focus on a particular table for most of the night. Three times we had to ask a man bussing other tables to find our waitress to order something else. She was nowhere to be found and the manager that evening was also preoccupied with this one table. While I noticed this table of four ordering several items and being incredibly loud and jolly that night (causing other families to leave quickly), the attention to all patrons should be expected. The food was sub-par at best to be touted as a bbq restaurant. Many better options are available in Chicago. With out of town guests on a special night, we left highly disappointed and unfulfilled.
Unfortunately our Anniversary dinner was BAD. Our food was came to the table luke warm not hot at all, its hard trying to eat cold bbq! We had to send our fries back the was hard. The didn't even acknowledged our 14th wedding Anniversary, After they asked us was this a Special day. The host & waitress paid us no attention. Then sat us in a room with a family that was allowing a child to run around the setting was BAD. The whole entire experience was BAD & very disappointing. Chicago q is thee first restuarant to ask if our day was Special and not even acknowledge it. Epic Fail. My feelings are still Hurt. Mrs.Pettis
The food was good, not bad but not great and not really memorable. There’s much better bbq in Chicago for cheaper.
Food was very good but wish our waiter had told us how big the entrees and sides were. We could easily have shared.
Lackluster bbq restaurant. Good service, but nothing special with the food. Also some options (even onthe children's menu) like the chicken take extra time to prepare so our server cautioned us against ordering...
Really great food in a cute setting with friendly staff. Love this place and will be in the new barbeque rotation
Nice place for a barbeque meal a notch above the normal counter service model. The pulled pork and brisket ends were righteous. The fried chicken was off the chain. Highly recommend
It was pretty loud, but don't think there's any way to reduce the noise.
The food was wonderful. We tried the Prime Burnt Ends and had a flight of the brisket, pork and chicken and it all was great. I would highly recommend Chicago q to anyone and I will come back next time I'm in Chicago.
I got frustrated at first because the server did not come to take my order until I bugged the bus boy twice. Then, they got our order very quickly when we told them we were in a hurry. I was pleased with the speed of service with the fried chicken coming in 10-15 minutes as opposed to 25 minutes guaranteed. The chicken was very tasty because it was so juicy and crispy. They didn't have the baby back ribs, so we got St. Louis, which were also good. The prices reflect the amount of food you get. It was a good value for the location.
Service was far too slow. Adjacent tables had the same complaint.
Delicious! Run, don't walk. Our favorites were the pickles, chicken and waffles and the unbelievable brisket.
The food was good but the service was really slow this time. Still would go back.
Great food. Great place.
The host greeted us and I told her we had a reservation. She sat us down and walked off. Server was young girl w/glasses and a smile, nothing bad, but like most restaurants downtown, service goes slightly down if you don’t want a drink. Ordered fried gator n smoked wings. Gator was over cooked n super chewy with not much flavor. Chicken was WAY too salty, to the point where it was hard to finish. We shard the signature sandwich and Mac cheese. Basic n nothing to write home about. Just expected more.
Their pulled pork sandwich is my favorite. That is what I get all the times..not to mention their ribs.. food is very good, service is good and the place is very nice too. A little noisy when crowded but not too bad!
For some inexplicable reason, their newly replaced chairs are too short. You feel like you are sitting in a child’s chair.
I heard the ribs were excellent, so was very disappointed when I arrived and heard they were out of baby back ribs.
Will not disappoint. Their mac and cheese is one of the best in Chicago. It's a must try. I can't say enough about the bbq. So great.
Food was better than expected. Never thought going to Chicago for BBQ would be something we would do. The service was great, they take care of you every minute you're there, they seem to know what you need just as you need it. The competition baby backs were amazing, meaty, juicy, cooked to perfection and just enough sauce to not over do it. I can see why this place was so packed. Will definitely be back to try something else, but all I think about are those ribs.
The food was very good! I’ve been to this restaurant for lunch and dinner, but never for brunch. It was so good, I cannot wait to go back! I had the brisket Benedict and my husband had the biscuits and gravy with sausage. Both were excellent.
This is my millionth time at Q and it is consistently delicious. The chips and pickles you get to start are always addictive. Be careful! Two bowls of each and you and your guest will be content before the Q3 arrives, and then you're just guaranteed to walk out stuffed. The ribs are always amazing. The brisket is ridic.
Service was super attentive and nice as well. Will definitely be back.
Delicious! Highly recommend!
Thanksgiving meal was delicious with lots of food and a good value.
We've been to Chicago Q for dinner several times, but this is the first year we tried it for Thanksgiving. What an amazing meal! They had told me on the phone the platter would be plenty of food, and they were completely correct - there's nothing better than having leftovers for delicious food. Everyone in the party did a turkey platter with varying sides, so we had a chance to try each type of side. The turkey was moist and not dry, had a good BBQ-type kick; the cranberry sauce was perfect, a great complement to the turkey. The potatoes had the feeling of being hand-mashed, not too blended or smooth (not "instant"), even the brussel sprouts, which are not my favorite vegetable, were great. The dessert pie was a perfect end to a great meal - not to mention they make a solid, strong OId Fashioned.
Dinner came before our drinks. One dinner was cold. We had Thanksgiving dinner here 2 years ago and loved it. Returned this year and we VERY disappointed. Will not return.
Our experience with check in...(7 min wait) w no one ahead of our party of 2. SERVER was preoccupied or very hard to find, no follow up after food delivery. Seated in wine room... senior manager came in 3 times to get wine and bumped one of chairs each time and never said a word. It appeared all of the staff needs a class on friendliness and manners.
Second time we’ve spent Thanksgiving here. Drove up from Cincinnati. Food was good, Thanksgiving menu plus BBQ menu available. Not disappointing. Service tops.
This was 2nd visit, fabulous food, great atmosphere
Good restaurant but service was a little slow. Food however was good.
Continues to be our top choice to celebrate my husband's birthday every year. The best dry rub bbq ribs! A consistently great experience. I really love the upstairs wine room as well for larger groups - perfect for a group of 20-25 people for a private dinner.
This is the perfect date night restaurant. The waiters were awesome and the entire experience was one to remember. We enjoyed the salads and tastey cornbread-everything was very fresh!
VERY loud, but the food was great, so that helped. Our table was not ready for our Sat night reservation, so we went to the bar...
