Chicago Prime Italian Ratings and Reviews
We had reservations for 8:00 for a table of 4 people. We did not get seated until 8:45 pm. We waited at the bar and ordered drinks. The bar tender forgot one of our drinks and we have to remind her 20 minutes later, she never apologized. The staff looked overwhelm. We did not have a good dining experience.
Overall experience was outstanding. We have some favorite Italian restaurants that are a 30 to 40 minute drive, but not anymore. We have found a new favorite only 10 minutes from our house.
Our server Ariel was absolutely amazing. She took care of us like we were family. Very polite, professional, and attentive.
This is the second time we were there in two weeks and the food was not good. We were very disappointed. In addition, it was so loud we could not hear at all. There were only four of us and we should have been able to hear each other.
Food was delicious. Would easily go again for the food. My braised ribs ravioli were delicious, and my husbands Marsala was outstanding. However waitress forgot to bring our appetizer so we never received that. We had to ask for more bread, water, and a fork (to eat our dessert!) several times; waitress told us there was new bussing staff which caused problems. Doesn’t explain appetizer goof.
Our reservation was at 5:45 pm and noise level was ok. By 6:30 pm we couldn’t hear and were repeating a lot of our conversation.
Attended restaurant on Open Table Reward program. Chicken Aflredo and
Cheese Ravioli were very good for my wife and I. Because of situation
we could not have our usual wine. It was very loud for a couple who
asked for a a cozy quiet spot, but maybe there was no room in the
restaurant that allowed for that.
First off the restaurant called me at 5:22pm the day of the reservation which was at 6:00pm to confirm our reservation. Then when our party arrived at the restaurant the gentleman thought it would be funny to say that our reservation was for 6:30 pm. NOT FUNNY! The server was good but the seating was so close together she had to walk around two tables to serve one side of our table. No the restaurant was not busy but they decided to seat everyone into the same area which made it difficult to move in between tables for the servers and the customers. Overall the place is overrated.
Made reservation on open table for 7:30. We got out of a play early so I called to see if they could seat us early. Hostess said it was busy and she would let us know when we got there. Without our knowledge she changed the reservation to 6:30. When we came at 7 she said we were late. She said to have a seat by the bar and she would call us soon. When we went to check on the seats after 45 minutes I believe she forgot us.
Food was also delayed due to a party we were told.
This was an off nite. We’ve had good experiences on previous occasions but Saturday was not one of them.
Our first time dining there, we weren't disappointed. Our server Becky made a stellar recommendation on their Saturday special which my wife rated as her favorite pasta dish she's had in quite some time.
Good spacing between tables helped the experience; it was nice not to be seated on top of the other tables. We will be heading back.
This was an off night. We were sat at a table and no one came to attend to us. Then they apologized but the service continued to suck, they forgot bread even after we asked for it, the host apologized and said our drinks would be on the house and the bill came back with the charges. Not sure what or who was missing or if they did not want us there.
First trip to Chicago Prime Italian, and it didn't disappoint. Owner/host Andy-John made us feel like family. He regularly checked on all the guests in the room. The drinks, food, and service were all top notch. Favorites were the meatballs and the Tiramisu. Definitely want to return for the live music in the Lounge next visit!
I loved teh fact that when I made the reservation, I said it was my Fiancee's birthday and without any prompting, they brought out a piece of tiramisu with a candle on it. What I didn't like was that we had to ask for a bread basket. I ordered the Chicken Vesuvio and there was literally a TON of oregano in the sauce. I took it home and took it out of the sauce in order to eat the remainder. The lasagne my Fiancee ordered was pretty good tho a little dried out. Not sure if we would go back for dinner again.
The music in the bar was fantastic tho!
