Delicious food, great atmosphere!

This is a small restaurant, located in a renovated house, and has a charming feel to it, and is definitely trendy. The sushi in my opinion was very fusion style, fusing Louisiana cajun and Hawaiian flavors into the sushi roles and fried rice, for example. All the sushi/food we ordered was recommended by our server and was exceptionally good. You need to be prepared for non traditional sushi experience if you venture into the dinner roles, but that's what make Chiba's food so interesting and delicious! I think this is a must try restaurant for real sushi lovers with an adventurous spirit. The only downside, is the sushi chefs can get overwhelmed and backed up, so dinner was around 2hrs and the food came out in waves. However, when the food arrived, it was perfectly prepared and there were no short cuts taken in preparation to get the sushi/food out to our table. Recommend making a reservation. Enjoy!!

Table service was terrific! Everything (appetizers/drinks) was great until the sushi took forever to come out...dining room was nearly empty by this time too. Server “made it right.” Will return but the long wait at the very end definitely changed the mood.

Food was good as always, I was a little disappointed by the fact that even if I noted on the Open Table reservation that is was for a special occasion, they did not acknowledge it at all. Also, the service could have been much better, a young waiter that looked like he did not want to be there, mumbling and stumbling

Had a great server, Heather, who explained the menu, gave suggestions, story about the restaurant and had good conversation with. We will definitely be back and look forward to the summer season with the outdoor seating. I am a non-seafood eater and had plenty on the menu and that night they had a chicken tempura roll that was excellent. My wife’s special roll was good she said but didn’t have a lot of seafood - to much of all the extra’s.

We had a fantastic evening. We happen to make reservations during happy hour which allowed us to try small portions of so many different items. Food is fantastic and our server Heather was amazing. So knowledgeable about the food and she had great recommendations. Great evening!

The sushi had wonderful flavors and was very innovative! Great owners too. They are a great part of the experience.

Best sushi on the North side. Staff is among the friendliest. Best place in town in my humble opinion!

Girls night out

What an amazing find! Chiba is a perfect mix of casual but upscale ambience, excellent bar program, terrific food and friendly service. The night we dined, there was also live music playing -- at a volume where it added to the experience but did not prevent us from conversing in a normal volume. The menu is extensive and offers raw and cooked options, so there is something for everyone. We tried several starters, sushi rolls and cocktails. Everything was perfect. We intend to visit again.

This is one of our very favorite places to eat. The sushi here s outstanding, especially the Aloha roll!

We had an awesome time at Chiba! The food was so good. The service was fantastic. We sat outside -- it was a cooler night and they had the heaters going so it was very comfortable and relaxing. Big plus - live music. We will definitely be back!

Took family for adult birthday fun. We ate inside and then went out for music and drinks. Both Heather during dinner and Kate at the bar were so helpful and friendly. The food was great and the outside is like a Florida bar hideaway. The only problem was you could not hear the music in the “red chair” area for music and drinking. Beside that this place is a win.

We’re moving to Westfield in January, so we’ve started to check out some locally owned eateries. We’d heard good things about Chiba, and it did not disappoint! Everything we had was delicious. We’ll definitely go back and bring friends with us next time!

Chiba is not only our favorite sushi restaurant in town but one of our favorites for any type of food. The service is great, live music is awesome, and the whole experience is the reason we go out to eat in the first place!

We've been to many Sushi places from coast to coast and by far Chiba is the Cadillac of sushi. And the darling server, Kate in Indy, makes it such a pleasant experience . Every time we come to Indy from our home state Iowa to visit family, we make it a point to dine with them.

The first time I visited Chiba the food was outstanding, the service was lacking. The second and third visits, the food, although good, never quite measured up to the first visit, and the service again was very slow. This last visit will be my last visit. Consequently the service was excellent but the sushi was not what I expect out of rolls that cost $16-$18 per. The rolls were fairly sloppily made and didn’t have that super fresh taste I was hoping for.

We absolutely love Chiba! The sushi is out of this world, especially the BLT specialty roll. You wouldn’t even think of pairing sushi and a BLT, but it works and its phenomenal. Our waitress was great, very nice, and knowledgeable about the menu. We will definitely be back!

I had indicated on the online reservation that we would be celebrating our wedding anniversary. There was no mention during our visit. Then: why ask? The server was efficient and polite, but not personable and appeared rushed, even though we seemed to be her only customers. The tables are very close to each other, so it would probably feel awkward when the place is full. The sushi roll I had was good.

Sushi was so fresh and delicious. Go on Wednesday, they have a great deal. Sat outside on deck. Lovely!!!!
