My wife and I went this past weekend to Chianti for the 3rd time. After mixed results on two visits, we decided to give it another chance as we are looking for a go to place where we can eat reliable Italian food at a reasonable price when we don't want to get dressed up and go downtown.
While not crowded, there was a long wait to order drinks, and then dinner. Once ordered, we waited and waited - our server, Giuseppe never came to tell us what was going on. Upon receiving our meals we heard him say "the kitchen went down". We looked at each other and couldn't figure out if the chef quit, a power outage or what the "kitchen going down" meant.
There are a plethora of fine dining establishments in Sarasota - Chianti's is not one of them.
