Dinner can be served al fresco on the Chianti terrace overlooking Lake Huron. Chianti also features a martini bar just outside of the dining room that serves signature martinis.
Live piano entertainment nightly.
Daily 5:00 pm–10:00 pm
Adrian was great, the food was superb.
Thank you for making our 45 anniversary a celebration to remember.
The food, ambiance and service were impeccable just what you would expect for a higher end meal. We sat on the porch overlooking the water and it was perfect.
We had called ahead and asked about accessibility accommodations for one of our party members who has mobility issues (he was in a transport chair).
They told us that they had wheelchair accessible dining room when I telephoned.
When we arrived (after paying for the horse drawn taxi) they told us that the elevator down into the dining room was "out of service." This was most embarrassing for our party member who then said he would try to struggle down the stairs with his cane. We did not want to place our dinner party member at risk for falls, so we left the restaurant!! As we were leaving the staff told us that two prior guests in wheelchairs also had left the same day!
This was embarrassing for our family member and a major inconvenience to us.
Been going to Chianti's everytime we are on Mackinac Island. Always good. Always great service. Always impressed.
The food was great and the staff was friendly. However, they couldn't find our reservation and acted offended that we had made it online rather than taking the extra time to call them. They were still able to seat us, although not on the patio as we had hoped. When we asked, we were told the table set for two outside was reserved for another couple. That couple ended up moving inside after about 10 minutes. There was no A/C and it was sweltering hot (even with all doors and windows open). By the end of the meal, we were both just sitting there melting in the heat anxiously awaiting the bill. Unless you can guarantee outdoor seating or it is a cold day, I would recommend going elsewhere.
Wonderful food, superb service. This was one of the highlights of our trip
Loved the piano player; he played the entire time we were there, and really added a lot. Both food & service were excellent.
My wife had the Salmon and I had the Filet. Both were excellently prepared. Calamari appetizer was good too and a bit larger portion than you usually get. Needless to say, none was left.
Good food but poor service. Spectacular views of the Huron.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Chianti. It was a highlight of our stay at Mission Point Resort. The food was excellent, although the side salads were a bit overpriced. I highly recommend the Chicken Piccata, and the Lasagna. Our server, Carone, was wonderful, as were all the staff. One of the waiters even sang for a couple next to us (great voice), and the pianist was very good.
Our service was excellent as the wait staff was attentive, friendly, and considerate. The food was overall good, but not great. We had a fantastic table with a nice view and would come back in the future.
Food was mediocre. Service great!
My husband and I went to Chianti for our 1st wedding anniversary. The entire staff was polite and made us feel special and wished us happy anniversary. Our server, Adrian, went above and beyond to give us a romantic and fine dining experience. At the end of the dinner he sang us a song at the table (John Legend) and his voice was amazing. The whole restaurant watched and it is something we will never forget!! The food and wine was very very delicious and worth the price. Definitely recommend for a special occasion!
Good food. Great staff
I would give Chianti 10 stars if it were available. We had a wonderful dinner for two in a quiet-ish setting. Each part of our meals was tasty and beautifully presented. The service was fabulous from start to finish, including helping us get a ride back to our hotel. We will make it a point to return when we next visit Mackinac. DO NOT miss the opportunity to enjoy Chianti.
We made a reservation for my daughter’s birthday dinner! Our server Simon was fabulous right from the beginning. Very attentive and the food was delicious with a beautiful view of Mackinac. They topped it off with a wonderful Birthday rendition. Thanks for making this so memorable. We will be back.
Service was very slow. Across everyone’s meal, the food was extremely salty, to the point that we could not eat it. The waiter lied to us saying one of our dishes that we asked to be made spicy was made that way, directly contradicting the person who had just told us it wasn’t. When the waiter went back to ask the server if it was, the waiter rolled his eyes before taking the food back. We honestly just left our food there after paying because no one wanted to take it home. I will not be going there again.
This was a dinner for our 20th anniversary. We were early, but were seated immediately. Service was prompt and food was very good. Our waiter (Basil) serenaded us with a song for our anniversary and received a round of applause from everyone in the restaurant.
We had a very enjoyable evening, our server Adrian was excellent and accommodating, food was superb, ambiance and music were lovely. We will definitely return and we highly recommend Chianti to anyone during their stay on the island!
Everything from the hostess to our waitress to the waiter who serenaded us made the evening extra special. We were with two other couples and were all celebrating anniversaries! The food was wonderful and our service was superb. Just an excellent evening all around! Thanks to Carone for making it so memorable!
This restaurant is overrated and I would not go back
This place was wonderful. The atmosphere is romantic with piano playing off to the side. They start you with a welcome glass of champagne, small but pleasantly unexpected. The prices were reasonable for the ambience and quality of service and food. We had wine, starters, meals and split a dessert and still left with a bill under 200.00 after tip. We will definitely return next time we go to the island.
We enjoyed a very nice meal at Chianti while staying at Mission Point for a wedding. Service was fantastic and the food and drinks were very good. We would certainly visit again when on Mackinac Island.
Off the hallway, but overall ambiance was okay. The hotel is beautiful. The veal piccata was off a bit onl emon per personal preference
Great food and good service. Enjoyed the piano music. Great vacation dinner.
Very nice menu for kids and lovely place for adults.
Food was great. Service was super. View is amazing. We dined there two nights and on both nights the noise level was terrible. We could not have a conversation. Three things were at play. The first night, it was a one-year-old who would let out the most horrible screech every 45 to 60 seconds and his parents would do nothing to try and calm him. To them, it appeared a normal dinner. Secondly, the noise level is likely amplified by the ceiling, which is made of wooden timbers. Third, the piano player doesn't adjust his intensity to reflect the number of people dining. On one night, we were early and at only one of two occupied tables. Still, he was pounding out those tunes really hard. Not sure what the restaurant could do about two out of those three but my advice is get away from the piano, scan to see there are no infants eating and sit outside on the deck.
Vassel provided excellent service on our special anniversary dinner. Food was very good. Spectacular water view and much needed quiet atmosphere.
Excellent food and great service! Whitefish, scallops, homemade pasta and sauces were great. Good children's menu, not the routine chicken fingers and burger.
We were welcome even though we were very casually dressed. Beautiful diningroom overlooking the water and someone playing piano. Very friendly staff. Our delightful Server introduced himself then brought some warm yeasty bread and small, complementary glasses of prosecco. Nice touch. Husband had pan seared whitefish over lemon risotto and I had mixed seafood fettuccine in a lemon cream sauce. Fettuccine was house-made. Both were very good. We split the antipasti plate that was made up of mostly meats and some olives. We liked that too. It was a good size for sharing. In fact the entre sizes could have been shared too. We both had a lovely cabernet and skipped dessert because we were so full.
The food was terrible. The bread was stale and the noodles tasted like wet, dirty socks. We paid 100 dollars for the worst meal I've eaten in years.
We had our anniversary dinner at Chianti while on the Island. Food was excellent, service was excellent. Prices were not bad for higher end restaurant.
Great view. Live music. Unremarkable food. Staff not knowledgeable about the menu.
Disappointing experience overall
The food was no better than good. The service also just good
Beautiful setting but poorly managed and understaffed. Our reservation seemed to be a surprise to them. They pushed two 4/5 tops together for us, a family of six. I could not converse with anyone other than who was seated next to me. Though it strives for a fine dining ambiance, it came up well short. The piano player sang along with several of the songs, and fellow diners clapped after many of them. While it may seem snooty, it made enjoyment of the meal more difficult. From the time we sat down to my spouse’s pre-dinner glass of wine was just under an hour, and the rest of the meal followed suit. The food was ok, some good, some not so good. The setting and the prices elevated expectations, but our expectations may have been misplaced. In summery, unless our experience was anomalous, we recommend you save your fine dining dollars for another place.
Service and food was good, just slower than it needed to be. The manager did come over and address it appropriately. I would return, but not if I had a time crunch. Great views!!
The food was good, for a summer resort. The dining room was the original dining room from the resort, so it had the grand height log ceilings and beautiful water views. However, it didn't adapt well to "Northern Italian" theme of the restaurant.
Ordered Sea Bass (one of the most expensive entrees on the menu) and was spoiled. The ammonia taste and smell was overwhelmingly terrible. After calling it to the attention of our waiter (who was very friendly), the fish was taken back to the chef and later cam back to “confirm” with us it was bad . Both dishes were removed from table for “warming” and re-make. Then we waited, and waited...Unfortunately due to the long wait the filet was very overdone. Nothing more was said as we were tired of the already 2 hr dinner service. No concern from Manager, no comps, disappointing dining experience and overheard others being frustrated as well. This is the first time I have ever filled out a survey, however felt compelled to inform others not to waste their time or money. I wish we had saved that time lost on other Mackinac Island activities since it is truly one of our favorite destinations. Will be back to the island, but not Chianti!
Very friendly staff. Great ambiance nice piano player. Good food
