WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE.
SET UP A RESERVATION WITH AN EARLY 6PM TIME. AND EVERY DISH WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS.
ORIGINALLY CAME FOR THE TOMAHAWK AND ENDED UP BEING BLOWN AWAY BY EVERY PLATE THAT WAS BROUGHT OUT.
THE SALAD WAS FRESH AND ZESTY AND A GREAT SPIN ON A CEASAR.
THE SWEET POTATOES WERE SURPRISINGLY SWEET IN THE WAY YOU WOULD HOPE THEM TO BE.
THE TOMAHAWK WAS DELICIOUS AND HUGE, COOKED AS THE CHEF PREFERRED AND THAT DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
THE STARTING OF THE SAVORY BREAD AND BURRATA WAS A CLEAR SIGN OF THE GOODNESS TO COME. I WILL HAVE DREAMS OF THAT BURRATA.

One of the few restaurants that we can say is authentically enjoyable to eat as the food is prepared so well and so fresh with taste unbelievable and so enjoyable. People are laid back and natural, we do not get the feel of coming to a place with attitude. We will rank it as in our top 3 to go in LA. And we have been around many of the top places in Europe. Totally recommendable.

I really wanted to like this place. While the food was about what was expected, the entire experience was a huge let down. First, we were seated 45 minutes after our reservation, and then it took another 30 just to get service. The restaurant has about 5 tables total, so the fact we RARELY saw our waiter the entire TWO HOURS it took to eat was also extremely unfortunate. The courses came out 30 minutes apart, which was very strange to have a bowl of mashed potatoes sit there for half an hour until the first meat came out. Our waters were never filled, and I think I only got one beer the entire meal because our waiter literally never came back after we ordered our food. Except one time to apologize for how long everything was taking. I will say they gave us complimentary sorbet at the end, probably because it was now 11PM and we were just eating. While the food is tasty, I really don't believe the restaurant is as fine as it seems to have convinced itself it is. For how much it costs, I would definitely go for a more exemplary dining experience elsewhere ie: Bavel.

Too much lemon in all the salad (Caesars salad), stuffed squash flowers, and broccoli.
Roast chicken was not well cooked - the meat near the bone was pinkish/a little raw.
We were overcharged for the water... US$3.00 per person but they charged for 7 guest to my table of 6.
They brought a happy-birthday dessert for the celebrant at the table, but charged us for it.
The waitress/sommelier was obviously pushing us to order too much for the table. For the table of 6, we had a roast chicken, a lamb shoulder, and the US$220 steak, aside from various vegetable dishes.

We go all the time. It’s our favorite place in LA. Sadly, this dinner was beyond awful. Not sure what happen. And at 400.00 for three people... not sure when and if we will be back anytime soon. One of our ultimate faves is the cheesy, flaky, platter of yumminess.... didn’t taste good at all and was burnt on most of it. Then came the cured meats... it was ok. Kinda dry. Next we had the octopus.... always amazing and still was. And finally, the meat.... why oh why did they change meat vendors. Flannery is just awful. I know it’s supposed to be dry aged, but the odor was terrible. And the taste was just as bad. We left most of the meat. Please oh please, go back to using creek stone meats! My last request... please bring back the peanut butter pie! I would make the drive from Santa Monica, just for that! Tell Nancy it’s a must! Look, I’m not one for posting reviews, but when I feel like it’s not the same in a bad way, I need to voice it. Thanks!!

I did not like that the hostess explicitly told us we had to be done by 8pm so she can accommodate the next guess. 2 hours is plenty of time, but it felt rude that we were told to be done and leave by 8pm. Not exactly welcoming .

The food is very good and some dishes are unique. The bone marrow is a must, a filling meal in itself. The portions are generous which so it’s going to take us several visits to try the dishes we know we want. The wait service was good but, it’s was soured for me when the hosted picked up the check, (paid cash), and asked “do you need change”. I find this to be rude, hence the this five star restaurant lost one star in my book.

Our fifth time at Chi Spacca was as excellent as the others. Food is always fantastic, and service is always top-notch. Chi Spacca is our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles.

This is a “next level” dining experience without any annoying bells and whistles. Serious foodies will be thrilled.

Nice experience overall. Service was terrific. Couple of items could have made it better: salt reduction that overpowered the short ribs a broccoli dishes. Secondly, not allowing head chef to use his dirty phone during food prep. We witnessed it several occasions since we sat at the high top cooking area overlooking the cook staff.

While my husband and I love every single restaurant that has Nancy Silverton attached to it. And we loved this one too, however, there was one thing that irked us that I must write about...we ordered the HUGE bone-in new york (even though we were just 2 people) and the waitress kindly told us that the chef WILL BE COOKING IT RARE...and then asked is that ok? Well, we said no, we like our steak cooked more medium. She then told us that he WILL NOT do that, that after we get it, (and taste it) we can send it back. Now what kind of a practice is that? So we decide to pay $190 for a steak and we can't get it cooked to our liking? We think this is so extremely RUDE. So, while we loved the focaccia (which really is nothing like a focaccia BUT is amazing, the steak was so-so (very rich meaty flavor due to a long dry age which the restaurant doesn't specify anywhere...I don't particularly like dry age beef. I much prefer wet age and if I had known I may not have ordered the steak that night!!! So, in closing, disappointed but it was a fun experience. Not sure if I would go back. If I do, it is for the focaccia!!!

We have been the chi SPACCA a few times and the food and service is always excellent. We were a little disappointed during this visit. The grilled octopus (one of the best dishes) was overcooked and a bit too charred which ruined its delicate buttery taste that we have had in past visits. We also ordered the short rib. The flavor was outstanding, but there was a lot of fat and very little meat for the price you pay for the dish. The service was on point, and the setting is great- we just wished the food was as phenomenal as in our past experiences. I would highly recommend their Butterscotch Budino for dessert.
