Heralded as a "meat speakeasy" by Food & Wine Magazine, chi SPACCA has come to represent the quintessential new Italian dining experience, where accompaniments like the Foccacia di Recco, warm salted Medjool dates, and Culatello & Puglia burrata are just sideshows for the rest of Chef Ryan Denicola’s meat-centric menu which features a 42-ounce Tomahawk pork chop, a 36-ounce dry-aged bone-in New York Costata alla Fiorentina, and a 50-ounce dry-aged porterhouse Bistecca Fiorentina.
Enchanted by the artistry of Italian salumi culture, we built the first “dry cure” program in Los Angeles so that we could experiment and perfect Italian charcuterie techniques in house. Open Tuesdays for dinner.

So so delicious. An amazing dining experience. They have really made the outdoor area beautiful and created a great vibe.
The sommelier was super knowledgeable and helped make for an even more amazing experience. Can’t wait to come back.
We had an amazing evening, great service, awesome food and well paired wine.
One of the worst dining experiences of my life.
Totally unfortunate dining experience at special event “cookbook dinner.” Outside dining without heaters on a cold LA night, food all underwhelming and without precision. I’m so happy that restaurants are able to find ways to be open during Covid-19 and happy to supportthem, but this dinner didn’t feel, in any way, like the chefs would have wanted it to be. Not sure if it was just being ill prepared for the weather or other factors related to the current circumstances. I hope to experience Chi Spacca as it’s meant to be at some point, but that wasn’t the case tonight.
Excellent food and hospitality from Nancy, Ryan and the team!
We were so disappointed at how bad the service was as we are regulars at Spacca and LOVE IT! Dinner took two hours to get to us and as such the meal dragged on much longer than it should have. We appreciate the effort during this crazy time but perhaps they need to stick to take-out for now.
It was an absolutely amazing experience . With the new Covid restrictions , the patio was converted into a beautiful piazza behind the restaurant . The service was excellent and courteous. The food was delicious esp focaccia
Bread and the short ribs .
The very expensive steak wasn't cooked to our specifications.
Overall the food was delicious. The only thing that disappointed me was that I took a survey before my reservation answering some questions about my reservation. One of my answers explained that I was celebrating my birthday. No one greeted me once or even offered a candle. And that was pretty shocking from a place of such a high caliber. It’s not the end of the world, but for a lot of people right now who’ve had to have a quarantine birthday, a simple greeting goes a long way.
Since we are dining at the outdoor patio, unfortunately the good food attracted flies which is not avoidable.
Food was super late and disjointed in terms of when everything came out. Roughly an hour in between when we finished starters and entrees came out. We were mostly ignored during that time. Our server was incredibly kind and apologetic when our main did finally arrive, and they covered dessert and our first round of drinks. Server said that the kitchen was backed up. Totally understandable that they’re not fully equipped given the restrictions and they’re a bit out of practice, but I will definitely wait until they reopen the full dining experience before spending $$$ again. Wine, starters, and dessert were all fantastic. Steak was good, but didn’t meet my expectations and the portion seemed a bit small for the price. Looking forward to revisiting when they’re at full strength.
Service was slow. Not busy. Missed one of our menu items. But delicious and considering all the safety measures taken - we had a wonderful time. Staff was wonderful about everything
Another amazing meal at Chi Spacca! Still one of the best restaurants around.
Those steaks were super delicious as well as salad, side of veggies and deserts :) It was in the evening a day before all LA restaurants started close and serve only take-out orders. Seemed many customers cancelled reservations, very unusual to see empty tables, dining just few customers. Top class food for sure, at same time cozy and casual atmosphere, I wish they make a little more reasonable prices. Like, 36 oz bone-in ribeye steak was $205 that perfect size to share for 2, $102.50 each person, probably $20-$30 higher than Mastro’s, BOA, etc.
My experience here was amazing. Great food & impeccable service. We had many things on the menu & they were all exquisitely done. For meats, the Porcini rubbed short ribs are fantastic. If you can afford it, the 36oz Ribeye (or NY Steak) is a must for the table. It was dry aged spectacularly. Truly one of the best steaks in all of LA.
I don’t know where to start. I arrived and several of my guests preceded me. Their wine has been decanted but no water poured as they waited. After about 5 minutes the waitress appeared and I told her that we would start with champagne, foccacia and salad immediately but she responded that we had to order everything at the same time or the chef wouldn’t even look at the order. So we sat and decided the entire order which I then shared with waitress. I ordered lots of food and then asked if we could order more just in case we wanted more afterwards and was told that it depended on whether or not they needed to turn the table. The sides came out first and after a few minutes we served them and them finally ate them before the meet arrived. I brought the service issue to my servers attention and she then proceeded to avoid me even though I had told her earlier that i was picking up the tab for our party of 6. Empty water glasses and plates left on the table between courses. I flagged down other servers or personnel to get service. It was a rather unfortunate series of events that made for a less than special evening for the birthday celebration intended.
Extremely disappointed with the steak. My group and I tasted nothing but salt on a $200 bone in. I was excited and looked forward to our visit but I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food.
Fantastic dining experience! Loved the food and wine. Excellent service. Fun vibe. Very expensive, but felt like a special night out. Would highly recommend!
Our sixth visit was unfortunately our least favorite. We LOVE Chi Spacca. Even this off night was pretty wonderful.
That said, we noticed a pricing issue between what was on the menu and what we were charged for an item, and one of our meat dishes was far too rare for us to enjoy, which was especially disappointing since we had ordered the same thing three times before, and it was fantastic.
Service is always terrific, and if this had been my first visit, I probably would have loved it, but since we have seen Chi Spacca at its most spectacular, this visit was a bit of a letdown.
My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary, and the food, service and ambience exceeded all expectations. Although the restaurant is pricy, for a special occasion it is more than worth the money!
Always a fantastic experience. One of the best in LA for a reason.
Most of our food was outstanding. The oil-soaked bread with burrata, the little gem salad, the plate of citrus (a wonderfully refreshing palate cleanser before the main course), the broccoli, and the lemon posset with balsamic were all delightful.
The only dish that my made my partner and I look at each other and say anything other than, "Wow, this is perfect," was, surprisingly enough, the meat entree. We ordered the Porcini Rubbed Beef Short Ribs, and I have to say that the salsa verde was more enjoyable than the meat itself. They tasted overcooked and were somewhat lacking in flavor. That being said, we still cleaned the plate as the short ribs would still blow most out of the water - even if they didn't live up to the chi Spacca standard.
Our service didn't meet the typical standard of a award-winning restaurant, either. Our server was not very attentive and we had empty, dirty plates stacked in front us more than once, though I suppose this is better than an over-attentive server, and it may be because we chose counter seating rather than a table.
All in all, I would recommend chi Spacca with an 8/10 stars.
We had a reservation but it wasn’t honored. We waited 25 minutes in a very small outer space with no seating and the door to the actual restaurant was kept closed so we couldn’t look inside.
The look and feel of the restaurant was very nice and the wait staff was fine . Certain dishes were delicious (the focaccia bread in particular) while others were very disappointing (the tomahawk pork chop). Not cooked thru and I disliked the seasoning of fennel pollen. Will probably not return.
We loved the food but is not very often resturant to go for bcuz is pricey but overall I will recommend
The food wasn’t worth the price
Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!
by far one of the best restaurants in los angeles. the quality and value of food is so perfect. everything on th menu is amazing. especially the salad with bacon vin. and the diablo chicken
Valentines Day!!
Great vibe. Not sure about quality of steaks
Had the pleasure of dining with Lidia Bostianich as she shared recipes from her newest cookbook. Great food, great wine and great company!
Loved the special event on Feb 10
Too much Salt.......I didn't think the food has maintained it's level of taste. It's not the same ChiSpacca as it was and I've been dining there once it's opening!
The overall experience was okay but not exceptionally great. We asked a member of the staff for help with taking our photo and he responded that he was busy and did not stop, come back or made an attempt to help us however when they were setting up a new table next to us with new guests they gave them all their attention. felt that we were not valued as guests, disrespected and we will not be dining here again.
Great Dinner due to Eduardo. Great service from him. He was so knowledgeable and efficient. All food was delicious. Would definitely return. Duck was on point.
Fantastic!!
Fantastic as always.
Outstanding meal!!!! Wow!
This place is next level. Sit at the counter for a great experience and to interact with the chefs. Sometimes you might get a little surprise tasting. food, menu, service, ambiance are all top notch. Can’t wait to be back here again.
The BEST Italian food in LA. No one makes Caesar Salad better than chi Spacca. It's right there with Tricolore Salad at Pizzaria Mozza.
Simply outstanding!
