Chi Spacca in Hollywood is one of our favorite places to get excessive in LA. This involves a lot of meat.
Never disappoints, always feels like a special experience. Bring a group that wants to eat.
I took my brother here for his birthday dinner and to be honest was kind of disappointed. Our whole point was to get some really good steak and they had a 50 ounce porterhouse on the menu for $225 however I would have to say that out of all the high-end steakhouses we’ve been to and we been to all pretty much the best ones we were recently at Peter Lugar in New York City and we’ve been to the Cut in Beverly Hills and Mastro‘s and several others and the steak at all of those were easily better than Chi Spacca. Their wine list was really nice and they have a lot of really great Italian wines. The service overall was very good. For the steak, appetizer, salad and side dishes alone not including the wine the bill was about $350. So really for a place that focuses on meat and in my opinion the steak really not being that great I was very disappointed.
I have to say I was disappointed in this restaurant. My wife and I love the Osteria chi Spacca fell short. Service was not very attentive. Two of our four items were not great including a very tough lamb shoulder and an extremely expensive prawn dish. Overall not up to the standards we were expecting.

Food was delicious but all large and incredibly rich. The restaurant was certainly perfect for a romantic date but would also be great for a group of 4 to 6 people as some of the dishes were geared toward serving 4 to 6. We thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie, burrata, focaccia, braised goat and cauliflower. If we lived in LA we would have brought home leftovers that would have lasted a week!
Our meal was wonderful. We have had octopus at many restaurants and this was by far the finest and most delicious. Then there was the beef and bone marrow pie. So delicious. Comfort food at its best! Can’t wait to go back and try the steak, lamb and all the other options on the menu. Ask for Max. Great service.

The other restaurants in the Mozza complex are better. Service here is terrible - lots of attitude and not enough attention - and the food is overpriced. Not worth it.

This was my 5th visit to Chi Spacca, and as usual it exceeded all expectations. Our server, Grace, was friendly, knowledgeable, and took us expertly through both the menu and wine list, making excellent suggestions for pairings. The team also managed the dessert-time presentation of a gift with taste and good timing. A feast for the senses in every sense of the word.

Really enjoyed it! Food was outstanding from starter to incredible desserts! Tables are a bit close together. Also a fun note the kitchen and dining area are one and the same. Fun to see all of the food coming out.

This was a disappointing dinner. My wife and I went for our Anniversary and found the experience to be average, especially given the prices. As examples: our first appetizer was brought out to us within 5 minutes of the order, and before the wine was provided. The waitress forgot about our second course and then the third course came in about 50 minutes and was not warm. We ordered the rib eye and found it to be extremely average, especially for $250. Given their emphasis on “this is how the Italians like it”, was unimpressed that the espresso came with sugar packets. Finally, a bottle of wine that they charge $45 to buy from the store should not be marked up by more than double to be served in a restaurant. Overall, we spent over $500 for a three course meal with a bottle of wine and were out the door in less than 90 minutes.
the food is superb but you better come hungry. better to come with a larger group (4-6ppl) so you can share more items on the menu
Every dish ordered was delicious. We had high expectations and we left very happy. They also get gluten allergy issues and the staff was very helpful.
I can’t say enough about the food and service! The food was excellent, particularly the flat bread and the bone marrow and beef pie. Great wine pairings, too. The wait staff was fantastic. My only complaint is that the dishes were brought out too close together. We needed a little more time in between items (we ordered 5 dishes and 2 desserts for two people) to keep from getting too full. We paced ourselves though and enjoyed the entire meal. Highly recommend!
This place is AMAZING. Food and service are excellent. Nancy Silverton stopped by the tables to check on people. Everyone here is just pleasant.

I wanted to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Since he’s got quite an appetite for beef, i chose chi SPACCA. We ordered the focaccia, grilled octopus, a bottle of Chianti and the 50 oz dry-aged porterhouse. For only the two of us i wasn’t sure we could finish the porterhouse. First of all i would return just for the focaccia. It was amazing. The grilled octopus was tender and delicious. Finally the porterhouse was served rare. I was told the steak is cooked through using heat conducted through the bone. It was amazing. Perhaps the best meal either my friend or I have ever had. This is a great spot for celebratory dinners.

What a wonderful dining experience with a full view of the team creating amazing food. The lamb chops were the best I’ve ever tasted across the world and the tomohawk steaks were out of this world. Service was exceptional and the atmosphere was intimate, fun and buzzing. This is a hidden gem, where you even enter via a bottle shop. Definitely one to try - sit by the bar if you can.
Service excellent, nice room, pleasant experience. Food was well prepared and presented but there was just way too much butter -on everything. Made my wife ill.

Recommended by a friend and chi SPACCA did not disappoint. I will say that I waited 30 min on the phone to upgrade my reservation to 3 people and was really happy to get the “Chefs Counter”. Love watching the prep and mad skills behind each dish.
The food was simple...in terms of ingredients, but extraordinary due to the quality and mastery behind each dish.
Sea bass, Rack of Lamb, olives, roasted green beans, mashed potatoes, flatbread (which is like no flatbread you’ve ever had!).
I will also not that along with 9-12 glasses of wine, this was one of the most expensive meals we’ve ever had and worth every penny.
So be ready, enjoy & call ahead!!
This place is beyond amazing. Sat at the Chef's Counter for the first time and were treated to quite an experience. Tyler (one of the Sous Chef's I believe) was essentially giving us a class on how everything was being prepared and why. Fantastic joint!
The beef short ribs were amazing! The best dish out of several outstanding dishes.
Sat at the bar (chefs table) and watched in amazement the artistry of the chefs preparing incredible foods from their stations. Got a chance to talk with Cameron and that added to the festivities with my wife and our friend. His 2 salads, the butter salad and the "BLT" were the prefect starters. Then came this chicken dish. There aught to be a different word to describe this white meat because to call this juicy and complex dish "chicken " as we know that word is plain wrong. The creamed corn and the carrot sides were also delicious. We finished off the meal with an apricot rhubarb. Got to come back!
Food was excellent, the lights were a little bright in the dining room for me, so that hurt the ambience a bit. Service and food were all incredible!
Amazing experience top to bottom. Chef Ryan DeNicola was warm and welcoming. The food was spectacular and executed at the highest level. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. Hands down one of the best dining experiences of my life.

One of my favorite restaurants! The focaccia and the vegetables are to die for at a restaurant known for its meat? What more can you ask for :-) Chef Ryan's dishes are superb and the service friendly and helpful. Really wonderful place. Thank you Nancy Silverton for figuring out how to make that focaccia...the two years of testing was SO worth it!
