Chez Zee Ratings and Reviews
Chez Zee is consistently good. The dependability of their quality is important: I can suggest it as a mid-point meeting place for folks up north and folk in the south and all agree when I suggest it. Now that they take reservations so readily and seat people upon arrival it has gotten even better!
The food was not as good as it has been on previous visits. We were unknowingly charged $5 to substitute regular maple syrup for the menu item's pecan syrup. This was a shock and we were told that this was standard practice. It seems unreasonable that regular maple syrup could cost $5 more than the special pecan syrup. We will not come back. Even though we have previously had much better food and service.
One of our groups favorite spots for special occasions or just to be with friends in a wonderful place filled with great memories from over the years. The food is always good, staff always makes you feel welcome and goes the extra mile. Wish it wasn't quite so noisy - makes it a little hard to talk sometimes. Brunch is amazing - I love to take guests there. Will keep going back.
Great place for a family birthday dinner or romantic date . Also like this place for business lunches. Love the twinkle lights. Desserts are wonderful, but waiters should warn - the dessert portions have grown HUGE! (not necessary in my opinion) Favorite lemon rosemary cake, while still delicious, didn't have the same wonderful rosemary taste/aroma I remember.
Quiet Tuesday evening visit, service was good and not overbearing.
Went there based on reviews. The staff was very nice, food was average. Place is very busy, eclectic ambiance, tables close together. Did not consume alcohol as I was driving 6 hours home that day. I can find better food and atmosphere other places for the price. It was close to our hotel. Everyone worked hard and did a great job. Just not my style. If I had looked at pics of restaurant I most likely would have goon somewhere else. Be prepared for lots of families with kids.
A friend had recommended Chez Zee for Sunday Brunch and it was an excellent suggestion. We met with friends from North Carolina and they were very impressed with the food selection, quality and service. The Brioche French Toast with special syrup was incredible.
We went on a holiday Monday night so it seemed a bit empty. Our food was fine. I had the garlic shrimp pasta, which was delicious and my wife had the Jalapeño Stuffed Chicken, which was very good. Our service was fine but not very personal. All in all, it was a good dinner but the atmosphere didn't do a lot for us. They did have a piano player there, which was great, but it still seemed a bit quiet and empty. Perhaps it would be better on a weekend night.
My husband & I visited Chez Zee for my birthday. We told them of the occasion ahead of time and they decorated our table and gave us a free dessert. Brunch was phenomenal . The food, service and atmosphere were on point. This was our first visit and we hadn't even gotten through our meal before we started to plan our next. Will absolutely come back.
