Our family went after church for Sunday brunch. It was a lively atmosphere and our teenagers really enjoyed the fun and food. Earlier that week my wife and I had a very nice lunch here as well. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The platters for Sunday brunch have a lot of food on them. Great Austin establishment! I strongly recommend it!
Best brunch in Austin
We are frequent patrons, as Chez Zee is one of our long time favorite restaurants. It was St Patrick’s Day, and my wife’s 75th Birthday. The staff was wonderful making the evening super special for her and some of our family as we celebrated this special day. As always the food was delicious. Thanks Chez Zee!!!
Everything was great! Thanks Raquel for amazing service!
BEST PLACE IN AUSTIN FOR LUNCH OR DINNER....QUIET..GREAT SERVICE...GOOD VALUE..WHAT ELSE IS THERE?
We always enjoy doing at Chez Zee. We try to leave room for dessert as they are so good.
We love Chez Zee! A great little place with the BEST fried pickles!
Have enjoyed family occasions here for many years including a large group for our 50th anniversary (100 people) and have never been disappointed. It is our go-to place for out of town visitors and just a quiet dinner for the two of us.
It is as if the chef has never tried using salt in a dish. I understand due to the many people in their late 30's and 40's that populated the restaurant they may have reached a point in their life where they need to watch what they eat but that is not the job of the restaurant. That is up to patron to order it without seasoning not the chef. The chef's job it to make sure the recipe is seasoned with ever ingredient.
Went to dinner for our wedding anniversary. I had mentioned this request in my reservation. Our table was waiting with streamers and a sign noting our anniversary. This made us feel special. The table was in a bit of a traffic spot, but, we did not mind the people watching. The wine was delicious as were the meals. The pork chop with sweet potato and green bean sides came out piping hot and the meat tender. The other dish, the pecan crusted bacon wrapped tenderloin, with garlic mashed and asparagus was a pleasure as well. My wife enjoys creme brulee, and it, too did not disappoint. An overall enjoyable evening.
Cheesy continues to be one of the best restaurants in town for a weekend brunch. The staff was attentive and professional. The food was outstanding the ambience works really well for my party of eight.
Had a great date night there. Ambiance was great as usual. The Pianist was fun and skillful. The wait staff was attentive. The food was delightful.
Been here a few times, always great. Food and service were great but my gin & tonic was below average, not sure what was up on that but I still give the place a solid 4!
The parking is horrendous, but the service and food are very good😎
We went to Chez Zee most recently for a business luncheon. I received a call verifying my reservation which is always appreciated. Our waiter, Derek was knowledgeable, personable, not smothering, well-spoken and very helpful addressing special dietary needs. This restaurant is a favorite of ours for many reasons including friendly staff, healthy/delicious food, great menu and tolerable noise level (when super busy). I've been there for brunch with friends, business lunch, happy hour, hosted a 40th birthday party there, and just ordered a cake for pick-up. Chez Zee has consistently never disappointed!
We have enjoyed Chez Zee for many years and have consistently enjoyed the food, ambiance and service. We often take friend there.
Nice place delicious food amazing desserts
This was recommended by friends. We are from out of town and were in Austin for the weekend. This was absolutely worth the drive out of center city.
I've always enjoyed dinning at this establishment, which is why I wanted to take my family member for their birthday. We were seated at a broken table. Two families we seated, greeted, and served water before we were. I had to ask your hostess for some water. Service wasn't I expected.
Always enjoy our meals, most often dinner. Consistent quality and service....at reasonable prices.....one of our favorites
Good enough is the best I can say.
Always a favorite of ours. Great neighborhood spot. Art on the walls, perfect lighting, great food. Don't sit next to the piano, he is good, but loud. The night we were there they had booked a party in the south half of the main dining room and it was boisterous. The waiters dealt very well with it all and we enjoyed ourselves, though it was a little too much for conversation across the two top. It did settle down and became more quiet. Great salads with shrimp, tuna, beef, chicken available. Try the pecan chicken !! Entrees are always perfect, my favorite is the pecan crusted salmon. Waitstaff is tops ! Desserts- huge choice (in an open case) are best in town.
I can't justify spending $100 for breakfast for 4.
Everything was great, but I just can’t stand a restaurant that has carpeting on the floors. There was an unpleasant odor when you walked in and I have to assume it’s due to the carpeting. It wasn’t horrible, but not good either. I would enjoy this place much much more if they put in different flooring.
As always, Chez Zee’s is very special place. And as always, the ambiance, service, & food are/we’re GREAT
Always a solid go to place for consistently good food and excellent service. I love the small neighborhood vibe. Well be back.
As always, a pleasant, happy and relaxed place to dine. Wait staff is fantastic as is the food.
Great food, environment, etc. friendly staff and good service. The only small critique is that it’s tight in the restaurant. Just not a lot of space.
Wonderful for a friends’ lunch or a nice dinner with hubby. Could use an infusion of younger people, but atmosphere, food and service are hard to beat. And those lights — so lovely and fun.
Chez Zee is just perfect! Delicious food, beautiful dining room. Chez Zee is an Austin original and excellent in many ways!
We go there quite often and have never been disappointed
The service was outstanding ! The food was the best! The whole dining experience was Excellent! Making reservations is the way to go. We had a large party and we were sited immediately.
The menu was interesting and the food delicious. Good service from the waitress. However, the decor and ambience left a lot to be desired...old-fashioned, frumpy, confused, Christmas lights and Valentine's lights still hanging, all higgledy-piggledy. Even the entrance was not clearly marked. I prefer restaurants that are modern, tidy, easy to understand.
The ambiance and food are unique and superb always! The service is outstanding! This is a true gem in Austin and we look forward to our visit every year! Can’t recommend this restaurant more highly!
We had a wonderful meal here with friends, who were there for the first time. We will be back.
The food was delicious... from appetizer to dessert and the salads and entrees in between. Portions were generous and the service was attentive without being intrusive.
It's been a few years since I last ate here. I was very pleased with the quality of the food and the prompt service This was an excellent choice for a business lunch.
Not is the setting a pleasant surprise, but the atmosphere delightful. Food: Excellent, from appetizer to desert.
Our Valentine's Dinner there was spectacular. Our waiter was considerate and his suggestions were perfect. We will be coming back soon, with friends and relatives! Thanks for being the best Valentine's location we could have ever experienced!
We had reservations for 8:15 and were seated about 8:45, but it was Valentine’s Day and super busy. But enough about that. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and was served very quickly after we ordered. But let’s get to dessert. The red velvet cheesecake-oh my gawd. Best thing I’ve ever had. I won’t mention the food hangover the next day (oops. I just did). Anyway, the entire experience was tremendous and I looked like a romantic god. Plus, I still had money when I left. You just can’t beat that.
