First visit and everything was great. Food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive.
The whole experience was ruined by having our table flanked too closely by plywood racks wrapped with plastic wrap for “safety.” It was unpleasant, like we were wrapped in a cargo pallet. The same thing could be accomplished by closing every other table. Instead the experience was claustrophobic and the racks gave the restaurant a super tacky appearance. I might be back one day when they remove the barriers. Not before.
This was second time visit. We love this place. I and my daughter love them come back again.?
We always have a wonderful dinner & our server, Maggie, is great
Food was average. French onion soup was ok. The blue burger was fair. The creme brûlée was awful. It tasted like eggs with crusty sugar topping.
Amazing atmosphere and food which combined into a great experience. Highly recommend and will return.
Joined friends for dinner here after reading the many good reviews. As a lactose sufferer, I will confess that a French restaurant was not the best choice for me! Lots of cheese in everything. I had the Wagyu burger and did enjoy it, however! Others in our party enjoyed their meal as well, although my husband would change entrees from the Cordon Bleu to the Beef Bourguignon.
It was fabulous place. I'd like to visit again! I recommend this place to my friend, too.
Food was great
First time eating at Chez and we will be back! Ate here for dinner on Saturday night and the food was really good. Everything was cooked properly and arrived in a decent time.
Just not very good. Need to update the atmosphere and the food was just not very good. Very heavy no very French. Server was great!
Food decent. Wine selection good. Mussels need toast points to enjoy broth.
Ambiance is funky.
Our first time and we were delighted...the mushroom soup is very tasty and just creamy enough...menu is simple...steak and frites was done like in France...good comfort food
Overall was ok. Disappointed that some of my favorite French dishes not on menu, e.g. escargot or a white fish in Bette blanc. Soup was a potato/leak and was very good, fritters very good. My seafood casserole was so-so.
Loved this place! Service was prompt, friendly and informed. Food was phenomenal. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
So good!!!! This place is so cute and we had the best waitress Maggie. A must try in Milford
What a neighborhood gem! It was a wonderful spot to celebrate Valentine's. The Prix Fixe menu had outstanding choices and the value was excellent. Will definitely come back.
First time dining here. Food was fantastic and service was great. Will definitely come back.
Unfortunately a host or bus person talked the whole time loudly in the back corner to someone else. We heard everything from political views to shoe show downtown.
This place could be a real gem if they had the crew talk in the kitchen , changed the lighting to be more cozy and had the employees dress in black pants , white shirt and white aprons. Make it a bit more authentic. The street clothes just don’t cut it.
The food was good but a bit on the pricey side since the atmosphere wasn’t right.
Great food and service. Large proportions. Great value.
Delicious pumpkin soup. Terrific orange duck. Thanks.
Great dinner with friends
Nice shrimp meal.
Soup is excellent!
I took my son to Chez Renee to celebrate his first high school exams being over - particularly French. We drove 45 minutes to go there, in high hopes it would be an 'authentic French experience'. I made a reservation on open table, and indicated we were there for a celebration.
Upon arrival I told them I had a reservation... there was really no need as there were only 2 other tables with people. We elected to sit outside by ourselves, as the inside was full of plastic shower curtains and a little unnerving.
We both tried speaking in French to the waitress, and she said she had no clue what we're saying. It was just hello and thank you.
The food was great, and we'd go back again for the food. Just disappointing in terms of expectation of the cultural experience overall.
Fantastic food and atmosphere!!
Great experience, will definitely be going back again!
Great food, great service!
Can’t wait to come back! Service was fast, and server was very polite. The ambience was very relaxing, and very clean outdoor seating.
This was by far the best Cordon Blue we"ve been served at Chez Renee. Kudos to the chef.
We ate outside for this reservation. It was a little noisy but mostly pleasant. The goat cheese appetizer was quite good! My only complaint is that they were "out" of two fresh items at 5PM on a Friday (ratatouille and strawberries)!
Just fantastic food, served well. Seafood and crepes are a real specialty. Recommend for date night or to take out the family.
Wonderful setting in Old Milford, we sat outside but the inside is very beautiful and has covid separators too! The food and wine was wonderful 👏
This was a very inconsistent experience. The baked Brie appetizer- delicious, the French onion soup, disappointing as it didn’t have any onions in it. The duck breast was very good, the salmon salad- nothing special, the wine selection good. The service was very friendly, but we often wondered where he was. The inside of the restaurant was charming but musty smelling, the outside was noisy from motorcyclist who like to gather a few doors down although that is not their fault.
This was our first visit. The food was wonderful the service was wonderful and we really enjoyed our evening. We will definitely be back!
First time here. Impressed. Excellent friendly service. Interesting menu from burgers to well thought out French entrees. My wife had the Beef Bourgenoin and I had the Chicken Persillade. Both excellent. Very tasty and perfectly prepared . Both came with sides at a very reasonable cost. Well stocked wine list.
Everything is good and authentic country French. In addition to the entrees, we love the onion soup as a starter and the crepes for dessert.
Loved the area... quaint old Milford. Very happening scene.
We very much enjoyed our dinner. Food was delicious. Highly recommend the charcuterie board. The Covid 19 restrictions take a little of the ambiance away, but it's completely understood.
We will definitely be going back.
Food was wonderful! Wine choice not as good.
Drove by this place many times but never tried. My wife and I have always loved French food, the kids developed a love for it during a trip to a Paris last summer. Made reservation for my family of four last Saturday and ate indoors. While a smaller restaurant they do have barriers up and were careful to seat people appropriately distanced. Server was busy but very attentive. The food was amazing. Not a bite left on anyone’s plate and we even enjoyed Crepes for dessert. My son and I had the duck which was very tender and flavorful, the sauce on the side was delicious. My daughter got the Salmon and loved it, my wife the Chicken Persillade. We also had a great bottle of very reasonably priced Cote Du Rhône. Prices are very reasonable. We enjoyed it so much we went back again last night and will keep coming back. I highly recommend.
