Chez Pierre Bistro is an authentic French Bistro, one everybody wishes they had in their neighborhood. Most of the dining is in the charming covered patio where the ambiance is intimate, friendly and always very professional. Prepared by Chef Pierre with the knowledge, passion and respect of the seasonal ingredients from the farmer’s market, the food is superb. The specials on the blackboard are impressive, unusual and follow the seasons. In winter you can find Chef Perre’s famous cassoulet to wild game; In the spring shad roe and soft shell crabs; and in the summer you can find paella, steak tartar, and pomme frites.

It’s no surprise that Chez Pierre has been voted The Best French Restaurant of the Desert for the past six years and has been rated “Dining Excellence” by Zagat and Gayot.

You may be tempted to sign up in Chef Pierre’s cooking classes every Monday followed by lunch.

Bon Appetit!

We have been extremely pleased with the food quality and excellent service. Best French food in the area. The Chef greets all guests.

There are a few things that are very unique about Chez Pierre. It is relatively small and very accommodating. You can be casual or dress up — your choice. Yet the food is exceptional. In fine French tradition the sauces make the difference. Being passionate about, in my opinion Chez Pierre gets top rate marks for tasty food. Starting with the French onion soup, which is head and shoulders above any other that I’ve tasted, to the osso bucco with a sauce reduction that is soooo good. The Server, Arturo, is also exceptional — both friendly and efficient. He adapts to your preference — fast, unhurried, etc

The Chef personally greets each and every Customer and also quite personable.

Save room for desert. In typical French style the pastry with the apple tart is soooo good.

Considering the price, which is reasonable this place is one of my favorites. I’m happy to hear that Chez Pierre will be open year round. Yaaah!

The food is consistently excellent regardless of what I order. The service is timely and you can actually carry on a conversation in the restaurant without shouting. Love to take guests here.

Shall I start with the desserts first? Fabulous! I told my wife next time we are going to happy hour and ordering just desserts. The meals were almost as good. Listen for the specials list. This time they included veal pot roast, sand dabs, lamb shank, salmon and a couple of others. I had the veal pot roast. Excellent! Served with potatoes au gratin. My wife had sand dabs, which she loved. A friend had the hanger steak and the other, veal picatta. All were well prepared and served hot. Definitely will return.

The food is great but the customer service is bad. I order a protein and vegetable and substitute extra vegies for the starch. In the past they have had excellent vegetables however the evening we were there they only had 2 starches - potatoes and carrots. I ended off just getting the protein and they did not offer any thing in place of the starch. The food is too high priced for this to be acceptable. I have been eating there for many years and this leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Not sure when I will return.

An overall great dining experience. All entrees were well prepared - veal, ribeye, sand dabs and skate were delicious. A nice atmosphere where you can actually have conversation. The service was professional and timely. Already have reservations to return.

I have been in many French restaurants in this country and France. Chez Pierre is one of my favorite in the US; it is not one of the typical "Americanized" French restaurants; you can eat veal kidneys, beef tongue frog legs, calf liver and other great food the way it should be prepared.

Loved the pate with the bread. Husband loved your escargot.
He ordered sweet breads and really liked them.
I ordered the Braised Beef Bourguignon, Parppadelle Pasta. EXCELLENT.
Need to turn the music up so we can hear it.

Our first night in Palm Desert, and Chez Pierre Bistro was a perfect choice for dinner. Our flight was delayed, so we called the restaurant and they readily accommodated us with a later table. The service was excellent, and the owners were friendly and attentive. Interesting food choices, our selections were very tasty.

The food was exquisite and the service impeccable, as one would expect in a fine French restaurant. The sole negative is that it can get quite noisy. It's a REALLY nice touch that Chef came out to greet each table. This is our go-to for special occasions - - do not miss the decadent chocolate mousse!

The duck was the best I have had since I had duck in Sarlat, France 2 years ago. We had the goat cheese and onion tart as well and the pastry was the lightest I have ever had. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Chef Pierre comes out to see everyone during the evening as well!

Wonderful wait staff! The food was very good but not exceptional. I had sandabs that I felt were slightly over breaded. My husband had veal special which he thought was just okay. The vegetables were excellent. This is a nice quiet place which is hard to come by anymore so it was great for meeting friends.

The food is excellent. Several French favorites not found in many Bistros (e.g., Frog Legs). We were having a late Valentine's Day dinner. I had the San Dabs which were delicious. My husband had the Hanger Steak which he thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant is small and when filled, it can feel a little cramped and the noise level can be a bit high. otherwise it is a great dining spot.

Although the food was delicious, my biggest problem is that the place is very small and all the tables were just about "on top of each other". The ambiance could have been better if there was room for more intimate tables. But overall, great food.
