Lovely neighborhood gem. Authentic traditional French cuisine. Menu prix fixe is an incredible deal. The patrons are mostly young at heart and, I would guess, locals. So if you’re looking for a quiet, pleasant evening with genuinely delicious French cuisine, and even a warm hello from the chef at some point during the soirée, you will not be disappointed. We’ll definitely be back!
Enjoyable evening, excellent food, well priced. Visit by owner chef was a special treat.
Fabulous service. Pate absolutely amazing. Portions too large. Great calf’s liver.
One of our favorite restaurants. Food is always excellent; wait staff is wonderful. It's a small family run business that has attained a great reputation. Love it.
Brought my daughter for her 17th birthday. They went out of their way to make it special.
Very nice, great service and food!
Wonderful, Chef Pierre greets his guests.
Chez PIERRE has become our favorite restaurant for authentic French cooking. The French know how to expertly prepare fish and Chez Pierre does an outstanding job with fish. Their Sand Dabs are the best I have ever had. My husband loves the Sweetbreads, or veal dishes. All in all Chez Peirre is an amazing Bistro. I highly recommend.
Always one of our neighborhood favorites. Consistently excellent food and service. Chef Pierre works the room. We love him and the restaurant
When dining at Chez Pierre you can almost imagine yourself in France. The casual French-style decor and warm, personal greetings from the owners make this a special place. Pierre's training and work as a chef in Lyon is evident in the quality of preparation of the food. In more than 15 years, we have never had a meal there that was not absolutely delicious.
We live in Idyllwild and drove down to the desert for an overnight. So many fine restaurants to choose from in the desert but it had been a few months since our last dinner at Chez Pierre so that was my choice. The meal was superb. The service, attentive as always. The value is exceptional, especially in the summertime! Wonderful dinner.
Great service great food
We loved the meal. It was my husbands Birthday but we missed not seeing Chef Pierre!
The Summer Prix Fixe is not to be missed! Chef prepares three (3) delicious courses for $29.95. Everything we tried: the Osso Buco, the Steak Tartare, the Vichysoisse, Goat Cheese Salad, Tarte Tatin, and Creme Brulee was outstanding! Excellent service, quiet atmosphere, great pate served with the bread. One of our favorite places in the area!
Everything was perfect as on previous visits, the food was excellent, service was helpful and attentive, the 3 course prize fixe for the Summer is a bargain due to the choices on the menu and the generous portions. I love the way Chef Pierre makes it a point to talk to every guest. Marvelous!
It’s always good to have the chef/owner visible in a restaurant. Drinks are good and food is great. Try the escargot.
We went during Restaurant Week, so the pricing for 3 courses was only $39.00. We had a party of 10 and everything was great. All our meals were very good and cooked to our liking. The chef and owner talked to us 3 different times to make sure all was well. We will go back
Chez Pierre Bistro is a delightful establishment with a never-ending desire to please the patrons, who seem to come from all walks of life, but, once inside the restaurant are equally mesmerized by the outstanding cuisine, the attentive service, and the pleasant and convivial atmosphere. What a wonderful evening, we had! We are eager to experience many more. A reservation is a must on many nights!
Dinner was fabulous, the complimentary pate at the start, was delectable.
We had the onion goat cheese tart, escargot, orange roughy, rice pudding and beignets. Everything was excellent. Beautifully presented by thoughtful servers. The chef, Pierre makes the rounds to all the tables to welcome everyone as an honored guest. A great dining experience from start-to the last drop of yummy chocolate sauce on a warm beignet.
Chef Pierre continues to do a wonderful job of top quality food and presentation.
We LOVE the pate they always serve first. Also, Chef Pierre always comes to the table to make sure everything is OK.
Our meal was delicious in every way and even more if that is possible. The sweetbreads are some of the best we have every tasted including in France.
Oh, the profiteroles with the dark chocolate sauce - to die for!!
We can hardly wait to go back.
Chez Pierre is one of our most favorite dining spots, and we have never been disappointed -- just like on our recent visit during Restaurant Week. Although the restaurant was completely full, the cuisine and service were absolutely outstanding! Chef Pierre and his wife, Esther, visited our table several times to welcome us and ensure that we enjoying our visit -- and we most certainly were! We could not recommend Chez Pierre more highly!
We like it so much we are going back Sunday.
Chef Pierre was extremely generous with his selection of items he offered for Resturant Week
He presented the very best of his kitchen. Our dinners were delicious and the service impeccable. My friends and I will definitely return. Bravo Chef.
Excellent food and service on my birthday.
My wife had the orange roughy and I had the steak tartare which were absolutely delicious. This is in the top 3 restaurants in the valley.
Prices are very fair for the quality you receive. We are locals and highly recommend this restaurant.
This was my first experience eating French.
I enjoyed every bite from frog legs, to escargot, the onion tart and veal pot roast to the grand finale beignets. Amazing! Why have I waited so long?!
We had an absolutely wonderful meal here. Martinis were perfect. Food amazing!!! Service great. Pierre even popped out if the kitchen to speak with guests. I will absolutely be back. Thanks restaurant week for letting me try so many places. But great three course means every night = clothes that no longer fit.
This restaurant turned out to be a gem. We enjoyed all aspects of our experience. Prices are reasonable and portions are ample! We plan on returning soon.
Classic french bistro, food is simple and delicious!
Rich flavors and excellent texture as one might expect from good French food. Good presentation, too. We will go again.
Love this restaurant... Pierre greets guests. Reviews the menu... so welcoming.. it feels like family! I love taking friends here! Pate is amazing! Watch out as you will make a meal on this free hors d’oeuvre ... soft shell crabs are the best around and very special during this time of the year...
We arrived 1 day early for the special restaurant week menu (my mistake) but the very kind owner
still honored it. The waiter was so nice; I could not decide on a wine, so he brought a couple samples
for me to try. The food was Delicious..and the service outstanding. We will be back for sure.
Really a gem! They are very attentive and you will find food there that you can’t find anywhere else. Delicious bistro style
Service was not great. Chef Pierre was there and greeted the clients so that was a nice touch.
I had the Beouf Bourginion and it was not very flavorful. I had noted on my reservation that it was a birthday celebration but there was no mention of this when we were there - not even a candle on my profiteroles ! This was my second visit to the restaurant but I am not sure I will return.
Celebrated our anniversay. Both meals were outstanding! Orange Roughy was fabulous and the cabbage rolls were delicious.
The menu choices were excellent. My wife and I each had different fish specials and they were both excellent. The pate was also a superb appetizer
Nice restaurant, quiet, food was good. Waiter was ok. I recommend this place. Steak tartare excellent
Second nite in a row with friends and it was wonderful. Great service and excellent food. Duck is always divine and Dover Sole was wonderful.
Excellent meal. The only drawback to me was the size of the table--just too small for 4 people. I had the Dover Sole and it was outstanding. I definitely recommend and will revisit.
