Bravo Chef Stacy Crowe-Simonson!!! I honestly did not know what to expect.
The ambiance!!! Yes, it's in a house but once you walk in, it's like I was transformed to an old restaurant in France. From the wine wall, the lighting, the table setting to the wall paper and the lamps, and the candle holders and armoire - it just eluded sophistication without trying.
We were celebrating a late Valentine's day and I'm so glad we came here - it was definitely worth the drive.
*Escargot de Bourgogne - Never had I had such large snails in any of the restaurants in Houston. The snails were plump and garlicky and delicious.
*Seared Fresh Foie Gras with carmelized apple, berries and honey vinegar gastrique - the foie gras is rich and decadent, like it's suppose to be. It was the perfect bite of flavors.
*Fresh Blue Crab, Mango, Avocado and Tomato Tower - I loved loved loved how fresh this was.
*Roasted Rack of Young New Zealand Lamb with Dijon-Rosemary Crust and Port-Shallot Reduction - doesn't even taste gamey or like lamb. The meat was tender little lollipops, cut table-side for presentation and comes with the most perfect reduction. It also comes with garlicky mash potatoes, green beans, spaghetti squash and carrots (both candied). Loved the mash potatoes so much!
*Filet Mignon, 10oz - there is a selection of 5 or 6 different sauces. My bf got his with a peppercorn sauce. The steak itself was tender and cooked perfectly, the bf said it didn't need a sauce but I know how the French love their sauces. Can't ever go wrong with a filet mignon!
*Chocolate Souffle - The souffle was a bit too sweet and I couldn't taste the chocolate but it was light and fluffy.
There definitely wasn't anything we ordered that we didn't like - this place nailed it all and there were no complaints. It was cute and romantic We will definitely be back and make this a staple restaurant for celebrations. I'm salivating thinking about all the food again.

Our 3rd visit with special out of town guest who enjoy unique experiences. Never disappoints. All of us commented that it was the best of .... we have ever had. Our selection included the pork chop - flavorful & so juicy. Salmon - cooked just right. Scallops with "to die for" Risotto.
Excellent service - there when needed - unobtrusive when you didn't. Knowledgable on the menu including all the specials.
Save room for desert & the soufflé.

The food was outstanding...far better than most fine dining. Staff was courteous and attentive.
The food was great but the service was poor. too many tables for the waitress, and the table we had seemed to be in the way of the waiters and the desert table. My chair was continually being hit by the waitstaff, with NO apologies.
This is an "upscale $TEMP_OC_CONTENT_HEREquot; French restaurant, but this particular evening our table was right next to the entrance to a side dining room where a medical rep was holding a training for Physicians, and the subject matter on the slides we could see through the glass doors, was not suitable to view during a meal. Constant chatter from this room and the actions of the staff were very disappointing.

We went for Valentines Day and had a great dinner. The food was great the service upscale and the dining room was cozy and friendly. For high end dining or special occasions this is definitely a hidden gem.
