Tried the frog leg appetizer and Beef Wellington special. Both were so thoughtfully prepared and delicious, and food was clearly of excellent quality. The service was also fantastic--attentive and helpful without being overbearing. Will definitely be back soon!
Food, service excellent, we loved it, recommend for dinner
Our server was efficient and accommodating. He did warn us to order appetizers and entrees together, as the party room was ordering too (we reserved well in advance so the kitchen should have been prepared). The food was disappointing. My stuffed pork was overcooked, dry, grainy and barely warm (not hot) and no trace of sauce. The skate was overcooked and visually, the plate looked like a big mass of dark. Others in our party complained of lack of sauce (trademark French). Desserts were lovely. I wanted to love it, but will not return.
Loved it! Beautiful space, delicious food and great service!
We eat there 3 or 4 times per month. Love the Skatewing dinner. Just a very good tasting fish dinner. Service was perfect Sept 1. Merci. Merci.
Chez Moi is definitely a neighborhood gem. It has the feel of a casual neighborhood bistro with top notch bistro cooking with creative inventiveness. The Duck dish had both duck confit and seared duck breast and it was delicious! The artichoke with brie sauce appetizer was superb, as were the mussels. Everything we have ever had here has been first class.
We ate outside on a lovely evening but the inside where we have eaten before is welcoming, casual and cozy.
The service was superb,, very friendly, attentive and efficient; it was a wonderful dining experience!
Dining at Chez Moi is always a wonderful experience!
Very enjoyable. Sat outside and it was a beautiful. Food was very fresh and flavorful. I ordered vegetarian dishes and was happy with my selections.
Our waiter stood out as the highlight of the evening.
The service was so slow and the pacing of the meal so poor that we werent able to wait for our main course as we only had 1.5 hours.
We dined at the restaurant on a Friday evening. The food was excellent with one exception. Two of us order the escargot. They were not prepared in the traditional way. Instead of garlic, onion was the main ingredient in the flavoring. It wasn’t very good given our expectations. We have had these here before in the traditional preparation and they were very good. It was unfortunate that we were unaware of this preparation. Had we known we wouldn’t have ordered them.
Great authentic French food. Service was outstanding! Can't beat the prices
Celebrating a birthday. Six of us, overall food was good, portions very small for prices. Wine was extremely overpriced and not of good value for what they charged. Disappointed in the profiteroles as they tasted like they were either old, burnt, dried or over cooked. Ice cream in profiteroles wasn’t good ice cream, cheap ice cream.
As always, Chez Moi was terrific. The appetizers/salads were great--mussels, tomato and mozzarella salad--as were the mains, the duck ala orange and branzino. We tried three desserts--chocolate mousse, profiteroles, and flourless chocolate cake--and all were outstanding. Ambience is very nice and friendly and the service was attentive but laid back--we were allowed to dawdle and talk over our cocktails and never rushed over the course of our two hour visit. Our friends, who had not been to Chez Moi before, loved it and will be back, as we will.
Ambience was good, service was timely. However, the food is Diner in quality and quantity. Huge servings and anything but good quality. At the waiter's recommendation I ordered Short Ribs. They were extremely stringy. Huge portion of bad quality and badly cooked meat. Did not send it back because that would spoil the mood and my husband would not start eating by himself.
The profiteroles were basically shells filled with huge serving of vanilla ice cream. No cream and barely any chocolate sauce that had almost dried up on the plate.
Chef needs to go back to cooking school if you coin this place as a french bistro
First time there for all four in our party. Staff was very attentive and friendly, food was amazing. Ambiance charming. We would all go back again.
Chez Moi was absolutely delicious for the appetizer, main course, dessert, and wine. Onion tart was the appetizer - a little like pizza and I don't know if that was traditionally French. Our mains were lamb shank with couscous and a sea bass fillet. Both were perfectly done and full of taste. However the climax was gateau Breton, a short cake which must have been made with a load of butter with sea salt caramel trim. I've never had anything that tasted like that and I hope to again. Even the wine and bread were good. Service was attentive and the price, although steep, was worth it.
We enjoyed a wonderful evening and dined al fresca!
place is lovely, neighborhood feel, food was traditional french and a bit heavy for summer.. preparation was ok not fabulous.. not sure that i would go back
We love this place. The food is consistently terrific, the service and ambiance are great. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed.
This is an amazing little French restaurant, underrated perl in Lincoln Park.
Just a wonderful experience all around. There was not a single disappointing dish. The drinks, even their non-boozy refreshers were super tasty and perfectly executed. We will definitely be coming here again for brunch!
Couldn't be happier with the braised short rib and escargots, fantastic.
Everything was wonderful, but I wouldn’t order the cheesecake with the caramel sauce.
I ordered from the tres prix menu-salad, trout and creme brulee. I also ordered escargot and froie gras appetizer.
Mixed drinks and wine list available
Food was very good and flavorful.
Our server was very attentive.
Large seating area in the back for banquets
Street parking available
Lovely and quaint restaurant in Lincoln Park. Food and service was excellent!!!!❤️
Come here as often as we can. Never fails to deliver. The noise level grade may be deceiving because we came early and ate outside.
My expectations where a bit higher than the food was to me.. To be honest the food was good but just nothing that is going to leave a lasting memory and since French food inst something I go to on a normal basis..
Wellington was tender and delicious. Salmon was perfect.
One of the best neighborhood restaurants. Had a fantastic dinner, sat outside, will be back shortly!
My daughter picked Chez Moi for her birthday dinner. She loves everything French so it seemed like the perfect pick. Food was outstanding, service was attentive and the desserts were great. Definitely a special occasion meal, but there was a pre-fixe menu that was very reasonable.
Some of the best french food we have had in a long time. Can't recommend enough!
Excellent food, selection and service. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
great food and the service was very good. Had a nice efficient waiter. Sat outside on a beautiful night.
Food was good although the steak frites was tough. Restaurant was very noisy and it was quite warm inside.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here last week and it was great. Good food and drinks, nice ambiance, not too busy...really a great place to celebrate!
Wines, quail, duck l'orange, & beignets were all fantastic! My date even paraphrased 30 Rock, saying "I want to take this duck out behind the middle school and get it pregnant"
I was a little disappointed by dinner. The mussels and cheese plate were good, but the cassoulet was dry and the gazpacho a bit watery. The lentil salad was nice. We were seated in the back room, but you have to pass the bathroom and steaming kitchen to get there. It felt a bit less special when you’re put in the back, although the service was just fine so no complaints there. Also the A/C didn’t seem to be working which makes it less pleasant during the heat wave. Overall I thought it was fine but was hoping for a bit more.
