Best Friday date night we’ve had in forever. Only complaint was that they had no outdoor heaters and it’s November during outdoor-dining-only Covid restrictions, but nothing a couple cocktails can’t fix. Best meal by far was the beef bourguignon, but we also got the salmon and it was incredible. Server was also so kind and attentive. Still dreaming of the beef bourguinon and will be back soon for it.
A great neighborhood gem. Chez Moi never disappoints.
Horrible place. We walked there on a cold day, they refuse to open the door of the restaurant or answer their phone. z
Take your business and $$$ elsewhere.
On the last night of indoor dining in Chicago (for a while, anyway), we decided to enjoy our *only* meal out since the first shutdown in March.
Chez Moi was a fantastic choice. We were seated in the back dining room, and had an amazing experience. The escargot presentation with the puff pastry was really interesting and delicious. The steak tartare and onion tarte made equally great impressions. They have a great wine list, and the dessert list made us want to order one of everything.
Service throughout was excellent. Attentive, yet still appropriately distanced. I didn't catch our server's name, but he was wonderful.
Thank you for a wonderful last night out, and I wish you all the luck possible in the coming months.
Great food, and good service.
One of the best things about my visit to Chez Moi was that we were able to get seating on a Sunday morning. Our server was excellent--very friendly, welcoming, and knew what he was doing. However, the food was mediocre. I ordered the crepe grand-mere and ended up getting a very dry chicken casserole, complete with a casserole dish. I ate less than half and left it on the table. To be honest, the (very) small salad was better. Otherwise, our server was great (which is such a rarity in Chicago!) I would tacitly recommend others to go here.
Excellent French food combined with a warm ambience.
My experience was as expected, a intimate French Bistro with great food.My Date enjoyed Duck ala Orange, while I devoured steak au poivre. Escargot was our first course but no room for desert. A must visit. JME
What a great neighborhood gem. Everything was really amazing. Can’t wait to go back!!
Felt safe and distant from others. Food was excellent and staff was very friendly.
Such a quaint little place. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night and it was still nice and quiet. The server was very knowledgeable about the wine. Would definitely recommend the duck and the steak. The chocolate mousse was to die for!
Nice French restaurant with a very personable staff. The food is good and they do some innovative things.
The food was delicious. The lovely french ambiance is wonderful.
I loved everything about this place. The ambience, music, servers, and food were perfect.
Enjoyed the skate wing! Traditional items like cassoulet and cream bruleé were also well prepared.
MY WIFE AND I ARE PERIODIC VISITORS TO CHEZ MOI, AND SHE ALSO LOVES MUSSELS--THE OCCASION WAS EAGERLY ANTICIPATED. OUR VERY NICE SERVER WAS NOT AS COMPETENT AS WE WOULD HAVE WISHED, BUT SOME OF HIS INADEQUACIES WERE A RESULT OF A FULL HOUSE (OUTSIDE) ON A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT WITH LIMITED STAFF. THE PRICE WAS FAIR, THE FOOD WAS HIGH STANDARD, AND ON THE WHOLE WE HAD A DELIGHTFUL TIME.
Good food in an outdoor setting was perfect for a birthday dinner.
This cozy little restaurant is a gem. Delicious food and friendly service! Loved my skate wing!
Always a great time. We love the special mussel nights! Wish they would hove cooking classes... quiche!
Lovely meal, tasty, appropriate temperatures, fresh bread and room temperature butter, friendly mindful staff.
Had cassoulet, shared salad and mussels as apps, and gateau breton dessert. We've been to France and eaten in many French places in NY, and this is as good as any as far as classic neighborhood bistro fare goes.
Make sure to leave a (very) good tip.
Great service, our waiter was a week into his job at Chez Moi but is definitely professional. Attentive, but not over-bearing, knew the menu and made great suggestions. We'll definitely be back.
Wonderful food orientation delicious food outstanding service.
The food was probably the worst French food I’ve ever had. However the service was wonderful and the drinks tasty!
We went to Chez Moi for Musselfest. We always look forward to this event and the restaurant did not disappoint, even with all the stresses of the pandemic!
Went for the mussel fest week and they did not disappoint. The lobster bisque broth was delicious. Frites also came with them. I truly enjoyed them.!!! My husband enjoyed his steak and frites also. Chez Moi is a favorite restaurant of ours. Small, quaint, wonderful food always. Wines are delightful and not to expensive. lots of French wines(to be expected) but good selection for sure. I have never ordered anything there that I did not like that's for sure.
Our third visit was as special as the previous two. The food is high-quality but not pretentious (Escargots es Croute are a must try) and the service is simply spot-on. We’ve been here for Valentine’s Day, our Anniversary, and my husband’s birthday and have thoroughly enjoyed every experience. This restaurant will be in my favourite list for a long time.
It was great experience dining there for my husband's birthday dinner. The food was delicious and great service! We can't wait to come back during mussel's weekend! C'est Bon!
A hidden Chicago gem in Lincoln Park. Excellent !!!
The best French bistro in town! Brough my wife for her birthday and the music, the customer service, the ambiance c’est Très Jolie and the food was amazing! This is hands down my favorite French restaurant! Will be back when I’m back in town... this is the blessing of having a French wife
Many thanks to our server Remy who was magnificent
Charming place, polite staff, delicious food. Great patio perfect for evening cocktail.
As always, the service, food and space was wonderful!
We had a fabulous server, who was distressed when we told him that a particular dish had no flavor. He instantly apologized and inquired, what would we like instead? He brought us another dish that turned out to be terrific.
That was one of the best restaurants. Delightful dinner, great personnel, and very friendly and interesting chef. Thank you.
Exemplary service from start to finish. Food was well prepared and delicious. Wine and cocktails were a great addition. Will be back!
Loved it! Brought back memories of The Red Rooster. Food was fantastic!
This is a really good French restaurant. The outdoor space is on Dickens, not Halsted, and it is really nice. The food was excellent, especially the escargot, which had a vegetable sauce and pastry, coupled with the snails.
Wonderful experience - entire team was very nice and accommodating. There weren’t any tables outside available when we showed up for our reservation, so they seated us at the indoor bar (alone, no other customers around) to have drinks until a table opened up. The host ended up moving a table outside for us in the meantime with plenty of space around it and seated us there. Waiter was very prompt and incredibly professional and nice.
We sat outside. Really lovely French Bistro feel. Good wine list. Good, if not standard, French fare. But there's something really lovely about well executed standard French food consumed outside on the street. Very romantic.
