This is my wife's favorite place for Beef Wellington, so I come here when it's on the menu. Not much room here, so be prepared to be in tight quarters. Good food at not bad prices.
Excellent service. Excellent onion soup, Beef Wellington, Duck, and Profiteroles.
We were a group of 10. Everyone loved Chez Moi. The service was excellent and food delicious. We'll definitely be back!
Small but mighty. Having dined at many French restaurants over the years (including a now departed 5 Star restaurant in Wheeling, Le Perroquet, Les Nomads before Jovan left as well as numerous more humble bistros) I found Chez Moi to be a perfect casual venue with well prepared, traditional culinary offerings, drinkable wines and creative non-alcoholic cocktails (always a sign that someone is considering guest comfort and needs). It was my first time but I will go back.
Birthday Brunch! For my daughter, a French Major! Was fabulous on all accounts, food exceptional, service terrific, atmosphere was perfect and fun! Salmon was the best I’ve had in a long time, simple but tasty. Escargot amazing, glad we shared. Croque Madam exceptional, and of course profiteroles.... yum! Wine choices very good!!
We had an 8:15 reservation that we were early for so we had a drink at the bar, both were delicious and our table was ready quickly. Dinner was amazing, many great menu options, reasonably priced for what you get. Service was also excellent and our waitress was very helpful with my allergy.
Wonderful dinner with fantastic menu prepared excellently.
This was our first time at Chez Moi, and certainly not our last. Our server was tremendous! The food was delicious! A great date night!
Unfortunate dinner with bland food and cold dessert which should have been warm.
We visited Chez Moi to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The food is classic, authentic French bistro fare, prepared elegantly and with attention to detail. The wine list is remarkably moderately priced. Can't wait to go back!
Cozy, romantic. Good food, wine and service. Perfect.
We had an early dinner for a date. We had the pick of the house for seating, which is plentiful, but not too busily spaced, throughout the restaurant. The server was most attentive - giving suggestions, informing us of the specials of the day, and in general was well informed on the menu and items. We ordered the foie gras and steak tartare for starters - both very delicious and in generous amounts. For entrees we ordered the lamb shank - which was unusually very salty, served atop couscous and and the orange duck, which was delicious and quite well made. We opted not to send the lamb shank back due to timing, and forgot to mention it to the server after the meal. For the side we ordered the creamed spinach and were happy that it was full leaves, sauteed, and served in a nice, light cream. The wine recommendations were spot on. Overall, a great experience. I would go back to try other items, though there are plenty of French restaurants in the city to explore. The ambiance were lively, and the lights were nicely dimmed for an intimate experience - it did get a little loud throughout the night, from the chatter, though it was not hard to hear someone, especially if you opted to sit next to each other.
Enjoyed dining - food was great!!
Loved it! So excited to hear the chef from Bistro 110 was there, as were the artichokes! Service was great, food was amazing... will be back soon!
Birthday/ wedding anniversary
We had a lovely time and a delicious meal. However, the ambient noise was so loud, I would have preferred a different spot in the restaurant, so I could actually hear anyone other than the person on my either side. If you can, opt for the front room.
Honestly it's just an amazing dining experience. Great service even better food. Wow.
Always a pleasure to dine here! Food is authentic. Service is lovely. Owners are delightful!
Great service and outstanding food will return again
Wow! Chez moi blew us away! Not only was the food fantastic, the service was top notch. We split the French toast as an appetizer (we like our dessert first). My mom said it was the best French toast she has ever had. Then we had the French onion soup which was INCREDIBLE. For entrees we had the steak frites, quiche, frittata, and croque monsieur. All were fantastic. We finished with the apple tarts- exquisite! Finally the mimosas were so delicious as they are made with a French liqueur. Omgosh good! Thank you for making my moms birthday one for the books!
We had a wonderful birthday celebration for my sons 25th birthday, total of 6. Had a great table in the back room which was just perfect. Food was excellent as was the atmosphere. I loved the French Onion soup to start and my wife enjoyed the beet salad. Range of dishes for dinner with folks ranging from vegetarian dishes to beef bourgeon. The highlight was the desserts although we were really too full to enjoy them as we should have. Would highly recommend.
Since Bistro Zinc’s closing this is probably my favorite bistro
All of our mains were very good and it’s a fun place
The mussels were tiny, shriveled and just not good. Even the broth was borderline bad
Sort of a big misstep for a French bistro
Have not been here since it was the Red Rooster. FOS and Beef Wellington were delicious. Our son declared Chez Moi to be his favorite new restaurant
Coq au vin & French onion soup - so good, flavorful I just ❤️
Outstanding service. Nice ambiance!
Second time we have had dinner here. Both dinners have been excellent. It’s a nice blend of good food and service. We look forward to returning.
This is a terrific cozy neighborhood spot. Food was delicious and service excellent.
Chez Moi was everything I wanted and more. It was reminiscent of my time in Paris. The ambiance feels like classic Europe. The service is phenomenal, attentive yet not overbearing. I enjoyed pan-seared scallops, which were made to perfection and drizzled with lobster bisque. My sister loved the mussels special with the classic mussel fixings and the Spanish-style. I’ll definitely be back!
We had a superb post-theater dinner. Each of us 4 had something different, and all dishes were exquisite. My husband’s sea bass and my skate wing were prepared perfectly!
I love french restaurants for the frites. They are supposed to be super thin and crispy and served with a mayo based sauce. Unfortunately this was not the case at Chez Moi. Aside from this lack of authenticity, it was a cute place that I enjoyed with my friends!
Came for breakfast/brunch. We love how quaint it is inside this restaurant. Very lovely ambience.
Enjoyed Mussel Fest. Our waiter was very helpful with wine selection and explaining Mussel options. Always
enjoy Chez Moi.
We regularly attend the "Mussel Fest" event and look forward to it each year!
Great mussel fest! Staff is awesome.
It was a girls' weekend and I made reservations at Chez Moi because of a Check Please review. The restaurant did not disappoint. Our party of four each chose a different entrée. Each of us had a taste of all four and all were wonderful. Service was attentive, but not hovering. The restaurant manager stopped by to ask if we had concerns. All in all, it was a wonderful evening. I will return with my husband.
Nice spot and the chef/owner does a fabulous job with seasonal ingredients in a special and creative way. The restaurant itself is typically more quiet than others in the neighborhood, a good draw for us, and still reasonable in cost. You can enjoy a great meal, wonderful service, an innovative menu in a typically bustling neighborhood. It is even great post theater. Enjoy !!
What a pleasant experience we had last Sunday night at Chez moi :-) great service, friendly staff, nice ambience, close proximity to the Steppenwolf, but most importantly the food was absolutely delicious! Each of the four of us had something different and everyone raved about their food. The portions were very generous and we all left very satisfied. Our group recommends the duck, the skate wing, the trout and the salmon. My friend enjoyed his mussels as an appetizer and I enjoyed my beet salad. We had the bread pudding for dessert and it is definitely enough for two or three people to share. We will definitely be back
We are "regulars" at this wonderful neighborhood gem. We will continue to be. The service was unusually slow on 9/21. The server attributed this to the mussel special slowing down the kitchen.
I went for the mussels fest which is a yearly event. We started off our meal with escargot which had an interesting presentation.
For entrees I had the lobster and Spanish mussels which were both excellent. Laura had the vegetarian cassoulet which was exceptional.
Chez Moi is definitely on top of their game.
Very good! Food was tasty and served piping hot. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Great value for the price.
My husband and I went here for our anniversary and had a pretty good experience. The restaurant is cozy and I loved the French chateau decor (at least that's what it felt like to me). We enjoyed the escargot, which was different because it had puff pastry on top (all the better to soak up the garlic sauce). My husband loved his Chilean sea bass. I don't think the coq au vin I had was the best I've ever had but it was still very good. Our server was very efficient, but she did not acknowledge our anniversary even though I mentioned it in our reservation. We had a very nice dinner but it just lacked that special spark we've had at other special occasion dinners.
