Food and coffee were lukewarm. Have always loved this restaurant but last 2 times were subpar.
Fabulous food, excellent environment and service!
I went with 9 friends and the restaurant was able to handle everything with no problems. Food was great, there’s a $20 uncorking fee.
Chez Moi combines excellent French food, attentive friendly service, and a good choice of wines with one of the most pleasant eating rooms in Chicago. Good bar seating. Highly recommended.
Everything was wonderful. Great food, ambience, service and reasonably priced. We will definitely go back.
My husband and I have eaten at Chez Moi several times. We celebrated New Year' Eve there. As always the service was excellent. My husband really enjoyed the lobster bisque and salmon special. I enjoyed my goat cheese on arugula stater and the mushroom risotto was excellent. I was disappointed in the venison as it was all gristle. The taste was great but inedible. Chez Moi apologized and removed the entree' from the bill. The chocolate dessert for two was varied and excellent.
Delicious meal and beautiful neighborhood friendly dining experience. High level service. Perfect for a cold snowy night in Chicago.
The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or courteous. Good was very good as well - chef went out of his way to make me a Lyonnais Salad. Mussels were done well (not overcooked, which I hate)and my birthday dessert was delicious. Will definitely return.
Everything absolutely delicious!!! Portion sizes very agreeable.Lovely bistro. Pretty much what I expected. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Excellent food and great ambiance. I highly recommend Chez Moi.
A delight cuisine. We French are very picky when it comes to French cuisine but chef Dominique really honored the traditions while modernizing recipes. We liked the decor, takes us back to very nice and chic french bistros.
Service was sometimes too fast. But overall really good. Would recommend for sure!!!
Went to brunch with friends. Cute inside, tasteful decor and very cozy. Had the eggs Benedict, the eggs Benedict Florentine and the quiche. All delicious! Had the french onion Bloody Mary. My friends had the regular and Royale mimosa, my friend didn't think the special Royale mimosa tasted that different from the regular one. Service was attentive and cordial. Will be back to try dinner!
Gathering of friends and family with kids home from school. Wanted a quiet, intimate venue so that we could talk. Although we were seated in the back room that had a lot of parties that night, we were very well cared for and the noise level was reasonable. Wonderful food and service. We’ll be back!!
Definitely a keeper! The ambiance is funky French with a cool vibe. The bartender was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. The food is comfortingly French with excellent vegetarian options. The staff is friendly, helpful and top-notch. The cassoulets, both traditional and vegetarian, are superb as is the bread pudding. A fine wine list means no one goes without! Highly recommend. We're going back in January, 2020!
Our menu selections were delicious. The mussels were succulent and the broth was divine. The Salade Lyonnaise had lgenerous amounts of lardons and 2 perfectly poached eggs. The desserts were to die for! Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent French food and setting
The foie gras was lukewarm and not as creamy as it should have been. The fish and seafood in the bouillabaisse was perfectly cooked, but the dish could have used more flavor. And my husband's dinner was quite salty.
We enjoyed our early dinner prior to a grandchild's Christmas Concert. Service was excellent as was my husband's onion soup and onion tart. my salmon was cooked more than requested. our first choice dessert was not available although it was on the menu.
Excellent authentic French food in a very pretty room. Very good wine list and super service. Highly recommended.
Cassoulet was fantastic, good salads, good profiteroles, onion tart was underdone but we had the waiter to put it back in the oven for a few minutes
I love chez moi! It’s always great but was especially good this time. My friend had the duck and I had beef wellington. Magnificent! Everything about it was great!
My altimeter favorite French restaurant in the city. Sophisticated but hearty this place has it all!
Never fails to impress. Chad, the manager and Dominique the chef/owner are a dynamic partnership. Outstanding food, reasonably prices in a great atmosphere. Could eat at Chez Moi 7 days a week and be happy!
Decor could use a facelift but the food is really very good!
A nice homey neighborhood restaurant that is reliably good if you are in the mood for authentic French food!
It was delicious! First time eating there, again DELICIOUS! Great staff from bartenders to management to wait staff. Great time and great food!!
The lobster bisque was some of the best I’ve tasted. Service was prompt but non-intrusive. Food arrived hot and without delay. The ONLY ding is the level of noise when the room is full, as it usually is. Reserve 8 o’clock when first rush is finishing. Noise level becomes tolerable when crowd thins. A trip to washroom takes you through one side of the kitchen. It’s CLEAN!!! We will return
Great spot. Super food, nice talking with the manager and chef!
Great casual date night place. Excellent food! Service could be a little better though. They seemed understaffed.
We ordered the Cassoulet and also the Foie Gras. Both were EXCELLENT! Chef Dominique Tougne is a master at his craft. The pumpkin soup was also ordered by our table. Superbe!
A high-quality neighborhood French bistro with great food, service and atmosphere. We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal here--it's been our 'go-to' Chicago restaurant for years.
We’ve been doing Thanksgiving here for the last 3 years and it’s always amazing!
What a wonderful dining experience! The setting is romantic, the food devine and the staff friendly. A great find!
It feels like you’re dining in a historic large home in an oversized elegant French dining room. I had stuffed pork loin and it was delicious. The service is A plus, and it’s nice that Management stops by to ask if everything is OK. I will go back!
This is a delightful and charming bistro. The service is as good as it gets: attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating.
We came here (return visit) seeking cassoulet. We were not disappointed.
The French onion soup is among the best I have had.
The Beef Wellington was not as expected - only a couple mushroom pieces between the beef and pastry.
Everything we ordered was cooked, seasoned, and served perfectly. We had the foie gras, morel chicken, and venison, and the dessert sampler at the end. Ambiance was wonderful - cozy, classic, and not too loud. We will definitely be back (and be taking friends and family with us)!
Very enjoyable experience. Loved sitting in the back room.
Great experience. My first time here but Tresa has been many times. We split an excellent bottle and had an evening of sharing small plates. Will be coming back for sure.
Every place has an off night. I hope that was the case on this Monday. Not very busy but everything seemed off. My friends skate had a black crust on bottom which was remade and comped to Chez Moi’s credit. The duck special was too well done. But the desserts were still great.
We love this restaurant! Some friends introduced us to Chez Moi and it has been a game changer when we want to have a special date night or impress friends. We have travelled extensively in France, and I love everything on Chez Moi’s menu!
Enjoyed brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Fortunately we were in no hurry as the service was very slow, but attentive. Food was good and I would not hesitate to go back, I would like to try dinner.
